Mdlroad Outdoor Desert Grow

Is it Tuesday? Yep had to be sure. My gg auto is very very close to chop. Cream girl has a ways to go. This leads me to a couple questions. 1st does 48hrs of dark before chop really help with terpines and trichome production or is that a bro science thing. 2nd and more important since these girls have been outside what type of solution is recommended to wash buds before drying? TY in advance

P.S. The heat is here. The lowest high temp in 25 day outlook is 98° and that's today. It'll be 100+ till Oct. The problem is not just how hot it gets but for how long. To give y'all an idea. In midsummer it's so hot for so long there is no such thing as cold water. When you take a shower turn the temp all the way to cold and it's still almost too hot

I use 3 buckets to wash with. The first bucket has 1 cup baking soda and 1 cup lemon juice. The other 2 buckets have water only. That seems to work well for me.

I have not idea about giving plants a certain amount of darkness before chopping.

TY so wash in baking soda lemon juice then rinse twice. I know I gotta wash em good considering they're outdoors just to get the yuck off

That’s what I did to mine too. They did look a lot cleaner after. Things gets dusty out here for sure, not to mention things like fly poop. (Insert barf emoji here, lol)

I do a wet trim, then wash the colas, then hang them to dry for about 4 hours. I then cut off the buds and put them in jars for the Low & Slow drying method. What I’m gonna try doing with some of the buds this year is to do my wet trim, then cut the buds off the stems and wash them in my salad spinner. I bought a Cuisinart salad spinner to wash the lettuce that I grow. It works really well. I figured I’d try it on some buds and see how it works.

Day 82 from sprout. The gorilla glue got the chop this morning. As they say down south. I'm fixing to warsh em up and hang to dry. I'm disappointed with the apparent yield. Thought outdoors would be better but they call it the desert for a reason. At least I did get a harvest it can be worse.

Tuesday June 1st. Happy new month to any and all. While her sister plant is drying little Ms. Cream has taken her time growing up. I had to move her to a spot shaded from the brutal afternoon sun. Seems to be working. She's starting to get frosty. I watered with a dose of recharge this morning. Hopefully that will keep her happy. Surprisingly the pistils haven't burned up like they did on the GG. Getting some orange. The buds are getting plump and dense. A few more weeks in the desert heat and I will put an end to her suffering. Then smoke her remains

On my last grow my huge Kush turned hermie and probably half was not fit to smoke but had a lot of trics. I ran 200 grams through my trim tray and got over 36 grams of kief.

How did you run it through your trim tray?

The day of reckoning. After 7 full days in the dry tent she's ready twigs snap small buds pull off easy. This time I was able to keep environment in dry tent consistent temp range 71° to 75° Rh maintained 55 to 62%. The gg was tall and lanky gave the appearance of a small yield. However the buds were dense and relatively heavy as a result yield was better than anticipated. 52grams + trim. I'll call it an even 2oz. The really important part the aroma and taste much better and the potency is excellent. I didn't chop too soon. So compared to my 1st grow indoors yield was only slightly smaller probably because of desert conditions but the final result is better.

Wow congratulations! 2 oz that’s awesome! So you think the quality was better on the outside one if I understood correctly?

Quick update on cream auto not much to tell she's still producing white pistils and plumping up. Just gotta keep her going a few more weeks. Added bonus my wife is happy. Peter peppers beginning to produce.
