I'm about to place the scrog, extra lamps and flip to flower. Pictures will follow.

They are looking hungry!

When i scrog my grow i always put the scrog net down and let it veg to fill 3/4 the net. Then flip to flower and tuck for another 2 weeks and it will fill the remainder of the net. If you put the net down and flip straight to flowering you wont be able to fill the net and it will just act as a support and not a true scrog.
:goodluck:

Day 42

Scrog screen has been placed, and lowered as to almost touch the tops in the middle .. the branches have been bended and woven through the scrog screen, and any growth that tries to go vertical will be treated the same. I also switched lights to flower setup.

I'm now running 2x 6500k 43w lamps and 9x 2700k 23w lamps, still in veg schedule, but as you can see in the last pics, they are showing pre-flowers .. and they fill up the screen just fine in my small room I'd say ?

On the seeming hungry: the soil is fresh soil, and has nutrients in it for a month .. they also just got nutrients. What you see is likely the result of a slightly too high Ph, and has been mended with some lemonjuice concentrate and Epsom salt. It seems to be looking better to me, compared to previous pictures.

My flower nutrients are gonna be ordered in a bit .. and should arrive this week.

Pictures ....

Then, my fifth plant .. the designated mum. She got some LST and I see 8 nice clones that I will cut somewhere next week .. toothpick size. I will prolly open a new journal for mum and her babies.

Thanks for watching!

So, in order for the girls to go to flower, I need a place for clones and the mum. Given the total lack of funds atm, this will be it:

Temperature in the humidity dome is 23C. atm. Looking into how to improvise a heatmat without christmasslights or tubelights.

Day 43 ... just switched them to flower by removing the 1 hour of light in the nightcycle, and removing 15 minutes from dusk and dawn ... giving them 11,5 hours of light per full cycle. Besides some bending and weaving, nothing more was done.

Here is an update on the clone area test .. looking good.

And mum

How do you root your clones PlanetJ?
I will cut an scrape as per a million instructions, split the stem a little, dip in regular cloning powder, drop some honey in the poked holes, insert clone, lightly water/compact soil and trim back leafs.

If you have advice or tips, please share .. this is gonna be my first time :)

Sounds good! Last grow i took about 15 clones a few different methods. I had 5 in rockwool cubes cut in the middle and scraped and dipped in cloning powder and only 2 made it. Only 2 successful rooted clones out of 15. The best cloning method by far is a small aeroponics cloning system easily made with a pump and cheap 360 Degree EZ clone sprayers and a tote. Next week i will be making one of these for my LSD mother! I cant wait to try this aeroponics cloning system as everything i have seen usually has 100% rooting rate. And its only going to cost me around 40 bucks to make...
:goodluck:!

I wanna go the least cost introducing method for this first grow. With the savings I will upgrade to better equipment. I also intend to show that good smokable cannabis can be had with no equipment.

PlanetJ, I have tried the same thing financially and so far, it's working just fine. My plants look healthy and I'm getting ready to flip them to flower in about a week. I will say this though about using CFL's.... for the amount of money I spent here & there picking up just "one more light bulb"... and "oh look, they have the 200W bulbs"... I could have easily paid for LED or HPS lights for this grow! :) :peace:

I have planned ahead, and set a max wattage for lights .. and so far have been able to keep myself to that promise. Total cost of all materials used so far, including soil and fertilizers and seeds, is still under 300 euro's.

I could have bought a cheap LED from that, and nothing else ... now I have 4 plants and a half decent growroom, a mum, clone's, etc. for no-budget starts, I'm doing okay I'd say ... from the savings, I can upgrade to proper material and then to hydro in a few grows ..

Cloning

I forgot to take pictures of the stages between cutting and sticking it into the soil, but since this was not going to be a tutorial, I do not think you guys are missing much. What you do not see here, is me cutting at a 45 degree angle, topping (attempted FIM) the clones, cutting the leafs and scraping the lower 2 cm of the stem.

I dipped them into water, gently shook off the excess water, then dipped into cloning powder, and inserted into the holes, which I pre-filled with honey.

Gently sprayed the clones, humidity dome and soil, and left for the rest of the day and night. This morning, I sprayed the clones and the dome again, nothing else was done. Here's to hoping a few will survive.

On the mum: I just took clones, removed a few light-blocking fanleafs, and otherwise, did nothing.

Please comment if you think I'm going full retard here ... I'm new as can be to growing cannabis ... I just do what I think others did with success after reading and scanning journals, and attempting to understand each step.

I have 6 clones atm .. did not bother to take pictures of the rest. I'll try to take 4 more today, once the lights come on .. should be doable with the switch flipped a day ago ...

Oh yeah ... materials used for cutting have been sterilised with ISO alcohol (99%) .. otherwise, you can see how 'clean' my environment is ... sorry for this sight for those of you that change clothes when entering the growroom :p

Change clothes when entering the grow room? lol.... I haven't seen that one yet!! :) When I start getting my brain all mucked up and thinking I'm going way overboard... I try to remember that it's a WEED I'm trying to grow! Not prize winning orchids... just a WEED! Your weeds all look great to me! :) I know virtually nothing about clones so someone else can chime in if they see something out of sorts but it all looks very good to me. :goodjob: :peace:

Imagine a container full of plants and a spidermite infection you bring in from outside ... in that case, you shower before you enter the growroom and dress up as if you are combatting ebola ;)

Day 46

A little more bending and weaving and rearanging .. she grows like weed ;) Still plenty of water in that medium, so nothing else was done:

Clones day 2

The clones are still looking good ... keeping my fingers crossed. The peatpots and the high humidity caused some mold I guess it is, but to my knowledge, that is harmless. I spray them 4 to 5 times a day, and thus refresh the air that many times as well .. humidity and temperature are stable.

20141025_005858.jpg

I think I will defoliate the scrog-ed ones tomorrow .. take some more clones to test if they will root with flower hormone buildup .. the only other place they would go is the compost heap and probably leave a few future clones on there .. to repeat that experiment. All fanleafs that can not be tucked will be cut, and future new growth under the screen will be removed.

Let me see if I can improve the clone update pic .. these look crappy ..

Here's a better picture;
20141025_011717.jpg

That readout is 26.4C (which will rise to 27.xC) and 95% rh.

...and while at it, here's mum too:

Mum is in a comfy 23C.

The clones are looking good.
I'm gonna call it early..... I reckon they all make it.
Good work dude. This is exactly why I love these forums. You do your research, see what works. And keep learning and listening as you grow.
They get better and better each round.

Clones day 3

20141025_152335.jpg

So far to me, they look good. Regular spraying and air exchange is all I do .. the soil is quite moist due to the layer of water in the tray. I think I will drain that later today, and gradualy let the soil dry a bit.
