Re: Aphoric's Hog/Trainwreck/Hindu Kush first grow 2009

Thanks, there will be more! My partner is headed up to get a jillybean mother and maybe something else today. Next run is all vegged and ready to transplant and switch to flower. I got some cuttings in the cloner which are almost ready to go in dirt. I am going to start a small hydrorganic section to test out since I might move to a bigger room, and don't want to be hauling tons of soil.

I'll to post a pic of my dryer next time, should be every other day or so.:grinjoint:

Re: Aphoric's Hog/Trainwreck/Hindu Kush first grow 2009

OK, the Jilly Bean mother is beautiful, about 6-8" tall, so it will be a little bit before we take cuttings. We got one Sage clone as well, it was pretty scraggly-looking, but I think it's getting better. So, I ended up transplanting 8 of my veggies into 3g pots, including the new JB. Oh yeah! Fuck, smoked a sample of the JB, I think she is going to be one of our main strains. The smell was kinda junipery with some orange and pineapple mixed in. The Hindu Kush we have is really covered in trichomes, but Jilly has an impossible amount on the bud we got. This Hog is just covered

So, yeah, that JB was some great smoke, not one for before work, that's for sure! Here's another shot of Hog

I didn't get any good shots of the Hindu Kush, next time I will be sure to!

Re: Aphoric's Hog/Trainwreck/Hindu Kush first grow 2009

Back with some more quick bud porn! Thanks for tuning in! I am worried now that I left the Trainwreck too long, I was watching the Hog, because it should finish first, but this is pretty unexpected. What do you guys think about which ones are done? I clipped one branch from each strain on Monday-ish (I label EVERYTHING because I am retarded, so I can check to be sure of the date). These are in the drying box, which I still haven' taken any pics of, but I will! I also gotta get a wider-angle lens. Oh, and the flash ring I got for $50 sucks, don't buy a cheap one!

Re: Aphoric's Hog/Trainwreck/Hindu Kush first grow 2009

It's been a crazy week, but I got some cutting done with some help. Here's a pic of the first Trainwreck I cut, minus one branch that I cut last week to test. That one branch was 7.6g, and after a 8-day dry smells better than anything I have seen in the dispensaries around here. I vaped a little in the Silver Surfer and it spun my head. I just vaped an early test cut of the Hog and it is definitely too early, energetic and stupifying at the same time. Hopefully a couple more days will fix that for the rest of the Hog.

We recently got Grape Ape and Romulan clones, so now have 7 strains going. I will try to grab some more pics of harvest, and will post weights as soon as I get them. I got a megagarden to try my hand at hydro. It wasn't cheap, but my free time is non-existent. It's pretty cool, and will help me design my setup if it works well, and also if it doesn't.

The early branch of Hog I cut was very stinky, and it lingers in your clothes and fills the car instantly. I am hopeful about what will happen with a cure, because the smoke is great. I gave some to a back-pain patient, as it's her favorite strain. The day after coming out of the dryer, she tried it in a pipe and says it's better than what she has been able to get at the shops. Feeling pretty high right now, and happy with the garden. Can't wait to expand and experiment some more, as the wife has offered me any room I want.

Re: Aphoric's Hog/Trainwreck/Hindu Kush first grow 2009

We pulled three plants out of the dryer in the past two days. Each one was missing a full branch, which weighed in at 7.6g and 7.2g for the Trainwreck. I have not weighed everything because my scale is a little piece of shit. We should have a real scale tomorrow, so some weighing may happen. Anyway, here is a pic of the three. These are 2qt jars. From left to right: Hog, Trainwreck (jar is stuffed!), Trainwreck

We still have 2 Hog and 1 Hindu Kush in the dryer. This is not the Hindu Kush I wanted, I wanted the spicy/peppery taste, and this particular set of genetics does not have it.

Also, I was thinking of entering some of my trichome pics in the photo contest. I was looking through the Cannabibles and I felt like my trich pics were much better. I haven't looked anywhere else to compare yet though. If anybody has a favorite, I'd love to know. Thanks, weight will not be much more of a wait.

Re: Aphoric's Hog/Trainwreck/Hindu Kush first grow 2009

Ok, weighed out the first two jars. The hog, first on left in the picture above weighed out at 30g. Plus the 7.2g I already got from it makes 37.2. I might have missed a branch in the dryer, it's kinda crowded.

The second jar, Trainwreck, came out to 85.1g including the 7.5g I already gave away. Soon I'll have the weight from the other 4 plants.

Re: Aphoric's Hog/Trainwreck/Hindu Kush first grow 2009

OK, so I just wanted to give the final weights and such. Not sure what I am going to do next, if I am posting a journal or not. I bought a couple of 1,000w setups and got a new power panel put in. I am moving the 600 to veg, and all three will be running on a closed air cooled path. I got a bunch of other toys to mess with, like a megagarden. I wanted to do hydrorganic, but not seeing a lot of growth on the plants I got in there. I am up to 10 strains, although it will be a while before any of the new ones are ready.

OK, so with the 6 plants under the 600w light, this is what I got

Trainwreck (2 plants) : 137.2g
Hindu Kush (1 plant) : 62.4g
Hog (3 plants) : 126.6g

Total weight: 326.2g
Grams per Watt: 0.54 g/w

The Trainwreck is seriously dense, and the Hog is very leafy, but those leaves are totally covered with sexy trichomes. A lot of that is going into the bubble bags. Here's a pic of my hand after I used it to try and wipe out the bucket to get it in the freezer bag.

So, I'm kinda disappointed by the weight, but everyone, including myself has been totally floored by how good it is. Hopefully the new lights and all this work to improve the room pays off next time.

Strain list will include these three, plus the seven we acquired
Jilly Bean
Bubblegum
Romulan
Grape Ape
Sage
Apple Jack
Jack's 33

If anyone has tips on those, I'm listening

Here's my new light panel in place

THATS the way it should be done. Nice work. :welldone: +reps

Re: Aphoric's Hog/Trainwreck/Hindu Kush first grow 2009

I can't take credit for that panel, I hired a pro for that. I am thinking that 2x1,000 in my 6x8 area will make for some dense nugs next run. I might move my flower partition another 18" bigger since I moved my rez to the adjacent utility room. I will post some pics, but might start a new thread, I'll pop a link in here if I do.
