I was growing in tap water with chlorine removed.
Sensi grow
Ph 6.11
Led lights 200wt
Fan
I was using 16 gallon res with 42ml sense and seemed fine did change last week and upped nutes to 50 ml and got curling tips and funny bumps. I raised lights removed fan direct off them.
I then went and bought ro system
Cal mag as directions say and hydro guard
And took nutes down to 30ml per 14 gallons. Curling stayed on few plant but veins are really yellow on some and almost like a windburn look on leafs
Blue cheese strain
Ph is 6.1 I just did water change and all this new stuff two days ago did raise lights and point fan away
The humidity was 20% and humidifier three days ago and at 60%. I just topped last night.
What should I do I have big air stones in each bucket and pump circulating everything
Also roots had some brown stuff it looks like solution and spray bottle rinsed it right off
Ppm is 850

Welcome to 420 magazine iron mike
Humidity is low for veg , nutrients a little high. Do you have Z7 since you’re in hydro? Light might be too far away !

Lights are 12 inches from top of plant.
They were closer but moved them up and pointed fab off plant to avoid windburn.
When I changed to ro water this weekend I added hydroguard they don’t have z7 around here. I also bought food grade hydrogen peroxide but store said can’t use both peroxide will kill good stuff in hydrogaurd.
The water level is 3/4 inch up in pot not below it.
Plant were started in cloner for two weeks and I’ve had for two and a half so they are 4 1/2 weeks old. There are more roots now.
I have 14 gallons total in reservoir.
Cal mag said 3to5ml I put 4ml per gallon.
So total of 56ml
Hydrogaird says 2ml per gallon so I put 28ml.
Advanced sensi grow said 2ml per liter well 4 liter in gallon but I went with 50 ml first week and dropped it with new water change to 30ml for 14 gallons.
ppm is 862
Red water is between 68 and 73 I add jugs of ice daily
Tent is 79 and since this weekend humidity was 20 % sunscreen Sunday I have cranked it up to 60 and now 78%
So what am I missing. The persons who I get clones said he has never seen that rash looking on leafs and the curl is it holding water he thinks micro nute problem. I see the veins on big leafs are yellow. The curling has stopped but the few it affected have straitened out.
So what’s the verdict?? Any help would be appreciated.
I do have a air scrubber in tent and it exchanges tent air two minutes an hour.

After some research I believe that the first two weeks I had them I had humility at 18% and that didn’t do them any favors I’m hoping now that the last two days I’ve installed humidfier and up to 70% + now things will get better.

Curious to learn why height the water should be. Like I said it’s 3/4 up in net pot should it be below and not touching it. Heck I’m not sure read both

when i did rdwc i let the water level reach the bottom of the net pot until the roots grew into the water, then dropped the level a couple inches under. that was something like 30 yrs ago tho, and there was not an internet or other easily accessible info source.

i never really had it up the side of the net pots tho

The water should be below the basket !

So is that my issue the water level. I can change it but what would that be causing?
Roots have to take a breath of air , my hydro is flood and drain the roots sit in nothing but air for hours but if I turn on the supply pump continually the leaves droop like that if you keep going you’ll do it in !

Yeah I knew that .thats why I have air stone in each bucket and this system is circulating at all times
Why is it circulating at all times, @snowbound do you have a timer on your supply pump ?

I have the inbound and outbound pumps on timer. At this seedling stage I have the timer on for 15 mins and off for 45 mins during light cycle. I am top feeding with a dripper.

I know country Hippie measures 4 gallons exactly in his dwc and is about 3” away from the basket .

It’s not flood and drain it’s rdwc and was told pumps and stones on all the time. All it’s doing is circulating res and nutes. I have lowere the water an inch off the pots and there is plenty of bubbly oxygen popping under and a ton of roots laying in water

From this pic of root ball when I just cut down plant you can see that obviously a large portion of roots are always submerged. With air stone in each bucket he should have that covered.

And that’s the way I know it works , that piping is all you need .when you add the R to dwc makes me think of flood and drain ?

You know I remember!
