A have (2) 600 watt HPS units over them. This is my first SOG run like this so I will have to compare harvest data against the aero run but I'm positive this run will yield more. I only ran 9 plants in my aero set.

If I average 12 grams per SOG cola, which is do-able, a full 112 plant run will give me 48 ounces. I'm actually hoping I average a little more than 12 grams per plant but we'll see.


If you have a 76" wide x 76" deep grow space and you use 2 liter bottles you could run 256 pots considering that a 2 liter has a 4 1/2" diameter.

256 pots @ 12 grams per cola = 110 ounces. 12 grams per cola is a conservative guestimate as well. Growing under 1000's like you do would fatten them up. Just something to think about if you want to maximize yield for your given space.

I'm actually expecting 14-16 grams per cola.

420 & NEP (and others). I'm totally envious of your space, but I would try to limit the number of plants, if at all possible, to LESS than 100 and just grow bigger plants, if desired.

The penalties go up dramatically once you hit 100 plants since the feds tend to step in.

I hear you Krip, it's kinda crazy how the laws work isnt it? They will treat us just like were growing giant trees in thees numbers! STUPID! I hope NONE of us have to deal with any of that BS!

I think a more realistic measure would be in square feet of grow space. If their ultimate goal is to control poundage that would be the way to go. 6 big sativas grown outdoors can net a few pounds each, and if I'm allowed 24 plants in my area that is a lot. My county also has a max on sq footage, here is their regs: allows up to 1 lb of marijuana, 24 plants in 64 square feet indoors; no outdoors growing allowed except in enclosed greenhouses. Wish I had an enclosed greenhouse to house 6 big girls and then keep 18 going in my box.

yeah...it really sucks cuz' you could have 20 plants in the morning and be fine, then later in the day, take 5 clones from each plant and now you're over the limit. You don't have any higher quanity of THC or buds, but you're now looked at totally differently by the feds.

It's crazy how different things are across the country. Here they actually weigh the plants, roots and all. Figure that one out.

It makes me think that clones make more sense for me, they're smaller with a higher % of buds. If I'm going to get popped I don't want it to be over a bunch of stems and roots and fan leaves.

64 sq feet and 24 plants? You could get a shitload of 2 liters into 64 sq feet.

The lights are getting ready to kick on so I took a color shot of the first 38. Everything looks pretty good so far.

The 16 on the left are on day 13 of 12/12.

they look like they're stretching really nicely to get ready to hold the weight, so excited about this grow.

Good news on the cloner, I have roots on one of my cuttings, the other 3 I believe are just poor cuttings, so I took another 8 bigger ones and threw them in there, hoping in a week I get some more roots.

The original 16 are on day (16) of 12/12. You can clearly see the 3 seperate groups of starts in this picture.

The original 16 are now a foot tall. Things are going as planned so far.

In the next 2 weeks the bud formation will really take off.

Thank you. I have not defoliated them yet. I will defoliate the original 16(and the others too) on days 21 and 45 of flower.

I'm sure it could be modified a little so no worries. This(days 21 and 45) was the format used by Jrosek who was the first person that I saw document defoliation online.

cool man, i am going to try harder to document my clone, transplant and bud cycle days more carefully, it really is useful as the grower to know exactly where your at along the lines.

I will remember days 21 and 45 from now on and use them as well, seems fair enough

Thank you. I believe that the 2 liters definitely allow you to maximize yield in any given growspace. The defoliation process will be interesting for sure. 4 more days then I will strip them.

420fied, have you considered topping or FIM'ing them before putting them into 12/12? I am planning on doing that on my next grow to see if it will produce multiple colas since I am doing a SOG grow as well (although in a recirc NFT). I am really interested in the hempy method. I am starting new seeds that will be my moms for the next grow and will have them in a hempy setup. I'll be using 50% coco, 25% perlite and 25% vermiculite. Have you had any experience with coco? I need to have something that will retain enough moisture for when I am out of town for 4 days a few times a month.

A bit of advice: You don't want to top or FIM SOG plants. That defeats the purpose of the SOG which is to have a single large cola.

I have never used coco.

So here we are at 18 days of 12/12 on the original 16.

They're 17 inches tall and healthy. The buds are starting to form. Everything looks good so far.

I'm feeding the oldest plants at 900PPM (HG 3 part) and the middle set at 700PPM. The youngest are being fed at 500PPM.

The 900PPM breaks down to 9ML of bloom, 6ML of grow, and 6ML of Micro per gallon of water.
