Hawk's Outdoor Granddaddy Purple & THC Bomb Grow Journal - 2023

8/2/23 - Leaves were droopy on both plants. Watered them and back to normal in a couple hours. Noticed that there were a couple yellowing leaves lower on the plant. Any idea what’s causing this and what I need to do to fix? OR should I just clip the yellow leaves?

Coming along nicely 👍

do you have fresh photos?

Thanks for checking out my journal. Newest pics are from 8/2/23. Plants are doing ok, but probably very small for their age. This is my first attempt at growing and gardening in general, so I made lots of mistakes that stunted their growth. But I'm having a blast trying, so all's good.

8/14/23 - As the day progressed, leaves started to droop. Water meter registered as Dry. Switching from GeoFlora Veg to GeoFlora Bloom today. I’m going to consider last week as Week #1 of Flower. Added 2/3 cup of Bloom to both plants and watered thoroughly.

Once again, noticed issues w. a few of the leaves. Any ideas on what the problems are this time? Definitely looks different than when I had thrips or mites a few weeks back.

8/24/23 - Even though it rained, the leaves are Very droopy. Checked soil meter and it listed as Dry! So much for the rain…Gave them both a really good watering. Hopefully, the leaves will be back to normal in a few hours. By end of day, the leaves looked fine again. Will have to start checking if they need watering every other day.

8/31/23 - A few more issues with leaves. Held off on spraying them with strong black tea. Wanted to make sure it’s ok while in flower. Noticed that even though I cut off the problem leaves yesterday, there are just as many today. Not good!! Otherwise, they both looked like they were fine without watering.

Checked back about 8 hours later and all the leaves on both plants were drooping / limp. Checked the soil and the meter read Dry. Added some CalMag to a gallon of water and watered both plants. Hopefully, the leaves won’t be droopy tomorrow.

Leaves will turn yellow and fall off as the plant reaches the end of it's life cycle. It's normal. Hell, I didn't come here to grow leaves anyway.

9/1/23 - Sprayed them both w. very strong black tea. Both sides of the leaves and the soil. Hopefully, this will kill off any of the insects that were ruining the leaves. Figured the tea can only help and not hurt anything. Hope I'm right! Plus, my plants now smell of mint.
I’ve been feeding them GeoFlora Bloom (3-5-5) for the last two weeks. Think there's a high possibility that they might have a Potassium deficiency. I already have two items I can feed them for high Potassium – MegaCrop (9-7-14) OR Sea-K (Soluble Kelp Extract)(0-0-18). Which would be better at this point? They won’t get any more GeoFlora for another ten days. Also, do I continue to give them the CalMag each time I water them?

9/6/23 - Extremely hot day. Watered them both w. added CalMag. Still issues with the leaves. This is my first grow and I gotta admit, I’m confused. What am I doing wrong OR what can I do to fix these issues? Not really sure what to do at this point.

Looks like possible Nitrogen or Potassium deficiency? Looks like probable issue with thrips? Is the insect problem minor enough that I can just leave it alone? OR should I spray either Neem Oil or Captain Jack’s Deadbug Spray (Spinosad) while they’re in flower? I'm guessing that isn't a good idea. Spray strong black tea instead (or is that crazy)? OR should I buy one of these instead: SNS-209, SNS-203, SNS-217?

So many questions -any / all advice is greatly appreciated!

Do not spray neem in flower.
