PH Testing

I'm getting my PH pen tomorrow but until then I wanted to test out the manual PH & CL test on some of the water I use.

The Kit:

My apparently perfect Tap water (straight out of the tap)

Water with Seeweed Extract

Water with Seeweed Extract and Bio Stimulant

Check out the bat guano tea.

This was the one giving my plants problems. I tested droping just half a cup in the watering solution and it didn't tested acid, its just to concentrated to apply it directly.

Ill do further testing when I get The PH pen.

Main Grow Update (Agst.23)

I took the plants out for cloning and took the chance to take some pics and give'm a Foliar feeding shower.

FLOWERING!! 1st night August 24

I started the flowering process today. I switch the 400w Metal Halide for a 400w HPS lamp. I have a 1000w lamp but its way ti hot!

From left to right the 1k HPS, 400w HPS & 400w MH

I added timers to the HID and CFLs from 7am - 7pm

And the group photo:

Tomorrow ill up the new clones.

You should really think sbout getting a reflector for your light.

I haven't found a good reflector here but the Mylar panels seem to work well. They are not on for the pics only.

But yes Im still on the hunt for a good reflector but there is no grow shop here so no other choice but to improvise

Clones: New approach

I'm taking a new approach to clone this time. Since I'm only gonna be growing 12 plants at the most that's how many clones I'm gonna take. Every morning I check them and replace the dead with new ones. So far I think I have 11 out of the 12, ill have to wait till tomorrow morning. Also, I went back to my old rooting hormone powder.

Since I couldn't find a dome good enough so I got inspired by the rose of The Beauty and The Beast (LOL). It is working good so far.

This is my version:

The basic Idea:

So This morning I took out the 4 dead ones on the right:

This Pics ones were taken tonight:

Ill check tomorrow and see how many I have and keep at it till all 12 make it.

That would be Ideal, but leaving in Ecuador is hard to buy things from the States. Usually I have to deal and work with what I can find here and some times get creative.

Thanks. I got lots of Lights. I got 2 400w MH, 2 400w HPS and 1 1k HPS. What I don't have is a good coolable reflector like getsumkin proposed a post before. Im gonna try to find someone who makes one for me.

Also the thing i like of lights hanging without a reflector is that i can get them in between while plants grow. But I need 1 more HID. This weekend Im installing an extractor on the ceeling and probably one more 400w if temps allow it.

PH TEST Revisited

I Got my PH Pen so I decided do run some tests again with some interesting results.

This is the PH meter I got. (It cost me $180 here when it goes for about $90 in the US. )
