oh, btw, the SFR is starting to give off the scent of fruit, something that it's better phenos did in the past. between the smell and the great swelling of the buds, i'm confident this girl will be at least passable. not hoping for that magic pheno, it's not likely. But, well, you never know.

also, one more thing.. i noticed the strangest thing from SFR. below the break in ths stem (which is healing and no longer needs support) there was a thick, clear, sticky liquid. i dabbed i off with my finger and being the country boy that i am, i put it in my mouth to see what it was....

it was sweet. like sap from a maple tree. it was delicious!!!

has anyone else ever encountered something like this?

Great update, love the description of the SFR. Made my mouth water. Never tried that before, but this is my first grow. Don't start trying to eat her!! Keep the info coming.

thanks Grooster! i've got a bit of a love affair with the SFR. she was the first plant i ever grew. i guess a little history couldn't hurt.

originally SFR was called "Canadian Frost" by the guy i got my clone from. he called it that cause he grew it underground with 1000w. it was so hot that he had to pipe air down into the "cave" he'd dug. being that this was in the winter, and it snows like a mfer here, he went down one day to find a small pile of snow beneath the piping and frost on the sun leaves of the plants. they took it. and produced some of the most psychadelic cannabis i've ever tried.
my friend also made seeds and kept clones from that grow. after about 4 years of growing Canadian Frost (CF), he passed a clone down to me in exchange for a half dozen of the finest white widow seeds i could find.
that clone was my first attempt ever at growing weed. it went into a 1.5x3 closet with a 600w hps and no ventilation. i didn't have a grasp on light or heat stresses at that time. and as a result, i would check on the plant at all hours of the night, turning on the 60w incandecent light in the room with the closet.
between the heat and the light, the plant was stressed as balls. and eventually went to seed. and i mean lots of seed. i harvested about 3g of salvagable weed from her and over 200 seeds.
since then i've grown out about 7 seeds and had 5 not take on me. of these 7, only 2 had what i would call passable weed. the rest were tasteless, weightless, and didn't really get you high. at least not in the normal sense. no feeling in the body, and it barely touched your mind, just a general feeling of calm. no high really.
as you can see, the virility of the seed is suspect. the quality of the finished bud not what most look for. the weight dismall.
but on the other hand, the genetics are there, all the seeds are female, and it seems to be ruderalis (autoflowering) as there are pistils showing by the time it's 4 weeks old, regardless of light.
i'd like to try many things with this enigma of a plant (where as many people would likely toss the seeds and say f**k it) including crossing it with other, high quality strains, growing out many of the seeds searching for a better pheno, growing it outdoors as well as in, and eventually share some seeds with others who may be able to unlock it's special properties themselves.

like i've said before, it's like a treasure hunt.

i feel like some old codger on his porch, talking about the olden days. haha!

Hell yea, I love the story. It's unique and very interesting. Your on a quest and your gonna get exactly what your looking for eventually. You got mad patience heh. I'm trying to learn some. It don't exactly grow on trees. Love the story, lets hope the SFR is the Golden Child you seek...CYA.

thanks man. it took a long time and a lot of set backs to learn that i can't rush things (anything, really). i really do hope that it turns out as well as i hope.

on a side note.. there are seeds popping up all over the SFR... little, tiny immature seeds. lol. it's been 29 days since SFR went into flower, so i'm wondering if maybe i've got a hermi with this one. i couldn't find any bananas on it thou... that sneaky fucking russian.. haha.

next move? well, i'll be spraying her with water to neutralize the available pollen. hopefully none of the ICE caught the love dust...

guess i'll just have to wait and see.. haha. and at the optimum time for pollination of the ICE

The Veg Room.

I1 in the corner with 3-prong and Hindu Kush.

3-prong, fimmed and growing nicely!

Hindu Kush (hk) still not sure it's sex, but 2 clones were taken to sex the plant in a month or so.. she's gonna be nice if she's female..

SC2, Super Crystal mom. i accidentaly broke a stem on her when i was going to flower her, so i decided to flower the other one and let her heal...

and my "little" girl, Yin-Yang. she's been repotted and stretched some more. looks very nice. i'm actually pretty proud of her. i think another month or two of veg and she'll be ready.

now for all the lovely clones.....

a little Mazar from a buddy

6 ICE clones. 2 are rooted. 2 are rooting in perlite. 2 are rooting in rockwool/hydroton. the perlite and rockwool ones are slow, but coming along.

9 more ICE clones. haven't rooted, just taken on Feb 1.

2 super crystal clones. 2 hindu kush clones. these are in my fancy new SA Mistic Cloner knock off that i built. so far so good. hope everything works out with them..

Just started I4 on the 31st

Also started SC1 on the 31st

and now poor SFR. it doesn't seem like the pollen has traveled. but aside from that is this issue, i'm 90% sure what happened..

i'm fairly sure what the problem was. (heat) anyone agree/disagree? she's still salvagable and there are seeds still growing, so we'll stick it out for now..

i counted;
22 tops on I2
21 tops on I3
18 tops on I4
23 tops on SC1

that makes for lots of tasty buds.

btw, i am germinating 2 White Widow Crosses. i'm not sure what they are cause they came out of a bag of mixed buds. they're either White Widow X White Widow, White Widow X Panama Red(!), or White Widow X Blue Berry..

buddy who made the seeds had a 6' plant of each cross. it was like walking into a hall with gleaming, sparkly white columns. haha. and the smell! forget about it. except you cant, ever.

Yep yer SFR is a fine looking plant for sure. It just looks really cool. The others are great lookers as well. With all those tops you counted your definitely in for some quality and quantity! A Dub-Q! yea I just made that up but WTF, I am a bit stoned. Any way props for keeping it real!
