420 Magazine Background
Hello all, I'm starting a grow journal and is going to be updated weekly.

I am currently at week 22 and in day 31 of flower.

Started with an outdoor grow, flowering Sour Deasel.
I cut 6 clones from it, all with budding sites "Monster Cropping" is what I'm told that is.

This is my second year growing outside and first time growing indoors. I'm also a cheap bastard, so I try to be as frugal as possible, lol

October 3, 2019
So to start, here is the plant I cut from and the transplant to the Miracle Grow Aerogrow garden set up.

Week 2 was amazing

All leaves are falling off and new growth is sprouting from bud sites.

I using the settings on the system, lights are 17 hrs on and 7 hours off, watering using 2 minutes every 4 hrs and the plant food that comes with the aerogarden

Week 5, leave growth is insane, and the plant smells so skunky at this point, stinking up the house, lol

Week 9 not too much more growth, but roots look great, nice and white, but they are starting to fill up the tank below.

Christmas is coming, so pictures are on holidays too lol

Week 12, Happy New Year's 2020

I figured it was time to pull these plants from the aerogarden and put them into soil.

Note: I lost 2 plants in December due to miss handling, while trying to remove some bugs. Down to 4 plants now.

The clones exceeded my expectations, I was expecting maybe 1-2 plants to make it in this system.

When I started wanting to clone, there wasn't a lot of information on, if an aerogarden system was efficient for this type of plant, if it will thrive, or if it's even a worth while cause.

From my experience, I will be using my aerogarden system to clone, start from seed until they are ready to pot.

My grow time in the aerogarden was 3 months and used the full 36 inch reach of the light system. I'm sure I could have gotten more time in the aerogarden, but didn't want to risk over crowding of the roots, and the canopy was getting too wide.

For my grow area, I have:
4 x 4 sheets of Silverboard XS
2 aquarium light fixtures (left over from my saltwater fish tanks) see below,

1 bulb fixture
(Aqueon® T8 Full Spectrum Daylight Fluorescent Aquarium Lamp

The Aqueon T8 Full Spectrum Daylight Fluorescent Lam provides an appealing and effective spectrum for your aquarium. Its 8,000K color temperature)

2 build fixture
(Hagen Power-Glo T8 Fluorescent Lamp - 40 W - 48" The Power-GLO T8, 40 W linear fluorescent aquarium bulb delivers a super bright, bluish white light with a high-colour temperature (18000K))
( The Marine-GLO T8, 40 W linear fluorescent aquarium bulb delivers a powerful actinic blue light emission that is essential for all saltwater aquariums.)

1 desk fan
Organic Soil
4 (5 gallon) pots
4 plastic water catching pans for under the pots

I know aquarium lights are not the best idea, but I'm cheap, and they were laying around, lol.
The Silverboard XS is amazing and works perfectly.

Week 13, New light
I have an amazing wife, found me a proper grow light, Mars Hydro Reflector 96 and bought it for me.
I'm so happy and so are my plants.

The yellow fly traps are there, because I had some aphids on my plants. I sprayed and placed traps. Worked wonderful in 3 doses.
I now keep them up and will do another spray the first week of March, for peace of mind and to ensure all bugs are cleared out.

I used
Safer's End-all insecticide spray and
Seabright yellow sticky aphid whitefly traps

Week 19
Plants are getting fatter, buds are growing, tips of the leaves going yellow. I'm thinking it's either too fast/much watering or not enough nutrients.
I haven't been using any nutrients up to date, just good ol' tap water and love.

So I made my own nutrients:
Coffee grounds
Banana skins
Egg shell

Ground up in a Ninja blender with water. Added directly to all the soil and watered as normal afterwards, but not as much water as there was some in the nutrient mixture.

Bud sites are doing great, leaves are great, bugs are non-existent.

White pistols are changing colour, the aroma is beautiful and the stem rubs are powerful.

Week 22

I am absolutely amazed at how much progress has happened in the last 20 weeks, these plants are going to be a great size.
Just by chance I had a bud site snap off when I was moving the pots around, so I dried it and tried it, the high was great, smoked perfectly... which is a good sign for what is to come.
