DarkGreenGoo's - HSO Blue Dream - Indoor - LED - Coco Hempy SCROG!

Re: DarkGreenGoo's - HSO Blue Dream - Indoor - LED - Coco Hempy SCROG!!

That is looking great for being grown in a small DIY cab.

I used to grow in much larger spaces then this, but I wanted to save money and room compared to how much medicine I actually need. So I scaled back tremendously on my last two grows.

The max tent I would run in my house is 4' X 4'. If I get approved to grow for more patients then I currently serve, then I will be building the green house. I have a background in the trades, so I already have a design that can be used all year, and some good friends from various trades willing to help me make it happen.

It will be a fairly advanced green house, and use commercial quality products in it's construction. Including thermal glass, that has thermal properties for temperature management inside of the space, but allows light to penetrate to act as a green house. I would then use commercial electronic mylar backed, black out blinds. So when winter comes, I switch the blinds on, and can use the green house as a full indoor grow operation with LED/HID lighting. Supplemented by outside light during day time conditions.

It will have it's own rain water collection system, and the class will be heated so I can collect snow melt runoff.

We will see what happens though.

Hello DarkGreen,

Actually the flowering room is a cheap particle board closet that I've converted. The vegging room is full diy, mdf cabinet.

Sure, I grow just for myself so I would never go very big but it would be nice to have just a little more space, and headroom. A 4x4 would be awesome for me.

Wow, that greenhouse plans sound awesome, top notch! I wish you all the best, I hope you get approved!!! :cheer:

Happy growing!!!
:Namaste:

Re: DarkGreenGoo's - HSO Blue Dream - Indoor - LED - Coco Hempy SCROG!!

I'm currently growing Blue Dream as well. I decided to top 1/4 clones I picked up 11 days ago & I can tell you the one clone I did top is growing much faster compared to the other plants ; also , The topped clone is extra bushy.

Re: DarkGreenGoo's - HSO Blue Dream - Indoor - LED - Coco Hempy SCROG!!

Small update today. 1.5 week into flower. Pheno on the left is a lot larger then the one on the right. Still have 1.5 weeks of stretch at least from what I am reading about the strain.

Filling out well.

Everything is filling out slowly. Not idea what this thing is going to look like. It has close to two more damn months in flower to go.

Can't wait!

I am also debating about going no-till organic in the near future to prepare for my greenhouse.

Updated Feeding chart

SEED

Sept 18 - Planted germinated seeds, put in humidome, and coco/perlite mix solo cup with 100 PPM of Calmag plus @ 5.8 PH

Hi DGG,

Your plants look great! Any ideas where a guy that hasn't grown in 35 years can find a decent vid/post that will cover the lingo of growers? Scrogs, topping, ect., ect. I'm a little lost.

Just dig a little deeper on this site. There are many many resources here that will likely decipher some of the acronyms and subject matter of our great hobby.

SOG = sea of green (usually many smaller plants run 12/12 from seed and result in more bud-sticks than full, bushy plants)
ScROG = screen of green (mesh screen placed over a plant to provide framework for spreading the plant our horizontally)
LST = low stress training (bending and tying down branches to spread open your plant)
DWC = deep water culture. full-on hydroponics (also include RDWC recirculating deep water culture)

There are a few for you. ;)

Welcome

Gov seems to have some of the lingo written out.

Topping is a technique used to take one top, cut it at a certain point, and it ends up growing into two tops. You can repeat this over and over again on the new tops.

Just search the forums and there are great explanations. It is very simple.

Anyway just a small update.

I was correct about the pheno on the right. It is very blueberry dominant. It has started to smell extremely fruity today, very much like DJ shorts blueberry. This also explains why it is smaller then the pheno on the left, since it is way more indica dominant.

I will say the smell is really amazing. I have no idea how good it will smell when I actually begin getting buds, and they start fattening up.

Nice! You'll love it dude!

I suggest getting some seeds (take a look at the sponsors here) and read about lighting while waiting for seeds and start a journal - folks here will help you. So grow tent, light, seeds, soil ... that gets you going and 420 will help with the rest. It's all good.

Cheers

This week was fairly interesting. The plants really started to stretch, which they did not do much of in the first week.

I fed them 7g Maxibloom, 3.5 ML Silica blast, 4ML Calmag Plus, 2 TSP Koolbloom, 1 ML Floralicious Plus (per gallon).

The phenotypes are really starting to show now. The plant on the right is clearly indica dominant, and is really showing signs of being a lot like DJ Shorts blueberry. Smells very fruity already. Makes me wondering how strong it will be by the time the flowers really begin developing.

The Plant on the left is starting to look a lot more like a hybrid. So it should have more of a Blue Dream smell sometime around week 6 or 7.

I am still getting used to growing in a small space. I should have topped the plants more than once, and I should have waited the full 10 weeks in veg to fill out the SCROG. I feel like I could have easily filled out the screen with one plant if given the time.

Right now the SCROG is there simply to hold up the branches, as I expect some pretty massive colas.

I will be getting a 450W this coming week, and will be moving the 300W over to a small veg tent.

I may start running a Critical Super Silva Haze by delicious seeds in the veg tent, but time will tell.

I am also debating about starting a no-till organic grow.

Here is the soil I am thinking about ATM

Base:

1/3 Canadian Sphagnum Peatmoss

1/3 EWC (high quality organic)

1/3 Perlite ( Have it)

Amendments (3 cups per cubic foot)

Kelp Meal (2 parts)

Neem Meal (1 part)

Alfalfa Meal (1 part)

Garden Tone (1 part)

Crab Shell Meal (1 part)

Mineral mix: (4 cups per cubic foot)

Glacial Rock Dust (3 cups)

Oyster Shell Powder (1/2 cup)

Gypsum (1/2 cup)

That should be enough to run a water only, no-till garden. I am still learning more about living organics (mainly a hydro and soup style guy). Sourcing some of the stuff is proving to be a real pain.

Like always, if you have any questions, let me know!

hey there DGG,
I hope you do run a LOS or ROLS type organic soil grow! As you are an experienced grower, im 100% certain you will crush it and be amazed with the buds your garden produces. My first LOS no till run looks great. I am beginning to sample some of it and it is certainly high grade meds, pure and delicious, clean burning, and potent. You'll dig, im sure.

I have smoked a lot of high quality hydro in my day, stuff that was grown very well and properly flushed. That stuff tastes and smells good, but cant compare to high quality organic product in my experience.

figured id check out your journal and see what you were up to. It looks like its rockin'

I'm hoping to see some great results PL. I brought in a scraggly old plant from outdoors a couple weeks ago and stuck it under the light a couple hours ago. I expect nothing as I already figured it as a gonner. If it brings this poor old girl back to life I'll be amazed! (But not surprised if it can't) You get high marks from me already just from what I see posted here and the way the sale and delivery went. Couldn't have gone smother my friend. Thanks, Andy.

PS: I wish I had bought some good glasses. Not sure, but I think that LED light could wreck your eye sight.

Thanks for checking it out.

Can't wait to give it a shot. I have sourced almost everything I need. Just looking around for one more thing (affordable EWC, people want $160 for 10 gallons....)

once I have that I will be mixing and cooking.

Hopefully as I continue and learn more, I can join you in helping people make the move to this type of growing. 420 seems to not have a very active Living organic community.

Can anyone tell how much heat a 300W LED gives off? I'm in OR and actually need my future grow closet to be warmer, it gets down to 54 degrees in there overnight. I know the low heat emitted from LED lights is one of their selling points, but I actually need something to put off some heat, otherwise I have to heat the closet somehow.
