Just wanted to chime in here regarding water sources....

I've used tap water in all my grows. I started out with distilled but because I was using GH's nutrients found that GH was actually designed with tap water in mind.

From my CFL to my 96*3 to my current COB and future Platinum, I'll use tap water no sense in worrying about water. Taking some things off the table that doesn't need to be there. I will however change nutrients next go round to a PH balance type....yea you know who I'm talking about...LOL.

Haven't had an issue yet...knock on wood...LOL.

Everyone has their own ideas and technique to growing to include water. Do what works for you or at the very least experiment. I think you'll find that water is the least of your worries with all the other parameters we go thru.

From pop'n seeds to res water and change out. My seeds go straight from the freezer to plug to pod to res. I place a small dome to help with the humidity and I go lights out till she pop's. Normally she pop's within 2-3 days. Then lights on for 24 hours the first week and once she is established the lights go 18/6 till the flip.

As you ask around you'll find that there are as many choices as there are opinions as there are....well you know the rest...LOL.

Keep asking and find what works best for you.

yeah , that's exactly how I feel , i could use just tap but with all issues that could come up I find it best to try to control any variables
@ $15 a pop a seed .

Also, remember there are a lot of companies that give freebies with most orders. I have 50-75 freebies in the freezer for playing around later. 20+ of those are fem's.

No disrespect to any seed companies as I use one & this is No Way a hit on them , but the freebies are actually in the costs of your seeds . As with any free item they don't give away the premium product
so you don't know what your actually getting , it's funny how 3 same freebie fem'd seed outta 3 seed I get 2 phenos ?
just sayin' I never expect much from freebies that way I'm never disappointed (till that one AKR that looks like stickman l o l )
keep it light : everyone has their own best method ,
I've used mine for 20+ years way before any MMJ grows it works on extremely rare seed that is way harder than bud to germ .

In any case go with what works for you , if one doesn't have R/O &/or distilled then boil yer water before you germinate if your tap water is iffy , mine has higher levels of algae & farm runoff as it comes from the local lake at this time of year
I can fill a clear gallon bottle sit it in the sun & in 2 days it's green

Totally agree with you Zombie in regards to the freebies...but they still are free and you can play with them without fear of wasting the high quality ones.

2 days and it's green...dam. I'm from southwest tax-a-chusetts and we got our water from Quabbin Res...so I know what your talking about.

Zombie....when you say pheno...what do you mean? the two i have in flower now are supposed to be critical kush but they look completely different...would that make them phenos? sorry for the ignorance....other than since i have been here i have been on my own for questions i might run yall ragged by the time i am done picking your brains...LOL

In fairness i did top one of them to slow upward growth so the other could catch up....well i also lollipopped the one i topped......maybe i stressed it out to where it is different.....i just dont know:lol

topping and lolipopping would cause different physical properties yes, and i see how its a little blurry with the growing term of phenotype, and the normal world use of phenotype.

But what zombie was talking about, getting 2 phenos out of 3 freebie seeds, is when breeders sell seeds, they dont sell the stabilized line, they sell f1 or f2 etc... so you'll actually see some, to a lot of difference between multiple plants from the same seed pack.
so 2 plants would have a purple color and the third didnt, as an example.

GD, I'm growing 2 Barneys Farm Tangerine Dream, both seeds were germinated together & have had an identical life. Pheno #1 & pheno #2 are completely different in height & shape to each other so different phenos

Update on the seeds........both popped and have now been planted into the rooter plugs and then placed into the daisy cloner......if goes like it has been they should spend about a week or so before moving down to the veg box and into the hydrofarm.........they will be under a 96x3 Top Led reflector in the veg box....they are under 2 2ft t8 flourescents right now
