RageMonkey's Phototron & homeade bubbler experiment Northern Lights

I think you should be careful when getting near it...it may eat you!

hahha nice.

I seriously hope this stops gaining height and maybe starts filling out internally. if this plant intends to double in size it's going to get really really nasty in there.

ok, here are today's shots and it's official: the plant has completely filled the growing chamber. Tomorrow I'm going to see what I can do to start bedning and training the top.

A little blurry but you get the idea of how big this sucker is.

Here's the top of the plant - not even a centimeter.

Here's a clone I took from the plant... errr maybe....

^ LMAO! Lookin great! Mine didn't stop growing in flowering til about 21 -28 days.

Yeah it grew another 1" last night. This morning i started bending the top over so it doesn't go through the outlet in the top of the box.

As of today the plant has been flowering 19 days. With 41 days to go, I'm guessing it's going to get really really nasty in there.

BTW, I picked up a float switch and a 12vdc/100ma ac adapter. I need to get a 12vdc spst relay and some other innocuous parts like a electric cord and a home receptacle in a box. I'm intent on building a float sensor/pump controller. Hopefully, if it works, I'll be able to automate maintenance of my nutrient solution. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to have to add 1.5 gallons manually every morning.

I installed my float sensor this morning and an external resevoir since I'm going on a bit of a road trip through Sunday.

It was really easy. The horizontal float switch is rated at 50w and my pump is only 7w, so I decided to hook it up inline instead of through a relay. All it took was a 1/2" spade drill bit, float switch, an old extension cord with a plug and socket, 2 wire nuts, and some electrical tape. It took me like 10 min to install this stuff and I tested it with a small submersible pump and about 3' of 1/2" tubing. Works perfectly. For now my resevoir is a 3.5 gallon bucket, but I will replace it with something larger depending on how fast it gets drained. Ideally this resevoir means I should only have to add solution now every 3 - 4 days and the average water level will be more consistent. Up til now I've had to add 1 - 1.5 gallons/day to the 2.5 gallon DWC bucket every morning.

I'll go get you a picture of the new setup with the resevoir.

I checked the plant when i got back this morning. The resevoir worked perfectly. It was down to about 2" left in the side bucket. pH was a bit high at 6.2. So I filled the resevoir and rebalanced the pH in the bubbler bucket and the resevoir back to 5.8. I'll post current photos later today.

nice... i think you should get another tron and put it on top of the current tron to let her double in growth. lol. Totally feasible, hahaha. She looks amazing man i have no idea what your gunna do with her growth, has she slowed down at all?

Well I was gone for 4 days and it looks like the stretch finally slowed to a crawl. All the flowers are filling out all over the plant, but the heigh definitely seems stable now. Before this plant was growing like 2"/day. After 4 days it just looks more dense overall. I honestly expected to come back and find the plant all jammed into the top.

nice work in there.I bet these box get popular after grows like these.

I think the quality of this grow is more attributable to the combination of good nutrients and an easily maintained DWC bubbler. The phototron provides the light, but if anything I'd venture to guess that my plant could have grown much fuller in an open space. Phototrons are just to narrow.

next time I grow, I'm going to a grow tray, resevoir, fan, and a 600w hps/mh system. I definitley plan to stick to the sensi rw/bloom nutrients. They really rocked here.

Here's a shot with the main panel removed. It so damn bright in there. I thought I was going to burst into flames when I opened it.

Are you getting your Bud Porn fix?

DSC01657.JPG

This shot will give you an idea of what is going on inside this box. These flowers are everywhere. Some of these bud covered branches are bigger than a baby's arm...

I have been waiting for this :cheesygrinsmiley: I hear that music too! better watch out she may grab you when your least expecting it...might try and roll you up and smoke you! OR season her omelet with you :-| Great pics.

I think I'd get lost in there for hours! No helicopter rescue in that forest! I wonder maybe trimming might be acceptable in this case? I'm definitely one to say not to trim, because the leaves are important for the plants development.
