RQS Critical 6-Pot RDWC 1st Grow

Looking good in there! I usually don't do another defoliation for 21 days either. But every grow is different and sometimes some stress from an early defoliation might be better than them not being able to breathe and photosynthesis won't do a damn thing if the light can't get to the leaves. Hard decision but whatever you do it looks like you gonna have a hell of a nice jungle in your tent. Good luck

Make the plants do the work mate. as soon as a tip can be moved up a hole then tuck it. holding it in place with ties is ok too on the net. I would strip some out personally as you really need some air circulation on those touching leaves. You can trim leaves down as well , any surface area left will have photosynthetic use still but wont block the hungry new growth. They can cope with stress during the stretch too and this period is the last chance to set your stall out for the scrog. Dont forget you can always remove the screen and use bending and tying if it proves to make this 1st one harder to get the feel. The foundation you set with your mainlines will do a similar canopy to scrogging if held in place as it stretches. ( my last crop was easier to manage this way)
I think it’s a bit dangerous to removethe net without snapping some branches, so today i just benden al the bigger leaves down that were sitting upwards and blocking allot of new tips. It’s just too bushy. Next grow gonna try a more sativa for sure and see how it goes with the leaves that are taking less space.
Heres a pic of today at day 6 in flower after bending the leaves down

Peter. i think you need to have a major defoliate. it is very very packed in there and to benefit you need to open up the penetration to the sites. All those leaves will also drive your rh too high when the buds start to stack up. do t worry about killing them off , it wont happen but you do have to mind for too much stress as they can hermie. You still have about 3 weeks before having to stop leaf plucking yet so try to thin it out if you can. Mould can be a very easy thing to start off if the buds dont get air into them. Hope this makes sense mate but does look too crowded for me .
looking healthy as hell too though so great job there.

Also look at lollipopping the below net stuff that wont see light at all. The canopy is the focus so below the screen will only take energy away from the main sites
You strip everything below. looks brutal but is necessary to avoid popcorn rubbish
have a research on it first . it is easy to do.

You’re right it is way too crowded. I think I’ll give each plant a defoliate everyday to not take too many leaves at once or you think it’s better to do a big defol at once. Not sure what will stress them more with defoliating them.
RH swings between 39%-67%

My vote would be a continuous light defoil. as you are a week into flower. At the three week mark, like Ganjagrandaddy said, lollipop, nothing under there worth keeping. They really are in need of some air flow but looking good.:thumb:

So yesterday I did the “light defol” ended up trimming a bit more than expected as they grew sooo bushy.
I noticed that allot of the stems are big spaced nodes, does this turn out negative in the end? Raised input from 400w to 600w (full power) and it’s hanging 70cm.

Here some before and after pics of them and to show how the stems look like, I removed some of the upper leaves so that light can hit the growth tips that are a few inches below canopy.

Gave them another haircut today, you guys see any difference or is it an endless kind of thing lol:laughtwo:

As long as they are growing and healthy then an on going chore. Once the buds start to form up good then the leaf growth will slow down. :goodjob:
And they do, still allot of leaves and some sweating so I’ll just keep taking off leaves and must say that the RH has dropped almost 15%
Also spotted the first little hairs :D

Hey guys sorry for the late update, been really really busy with allot of other things and didn’t had much time to go in my garden room.
Also I had a leakage from one bucket that got my tent and floor really wet. Fixed it by now and keeping an eye on it.

So now day 14 in bloom and they got really bushy again, tonight if I find some time I’ll go in and give them a haircut to open up. Buds early growth started showing :D

Here some pics of the situation now:

Day 15 in flower.
Started with the huge defol and mannn I have to say... I under estimated this job!
I removed the screen to go easier with cutting and finally could take a look a the roots and I was shocked as they were almost the size of the buckets

Quick question!?
Saw some branches underneath that don’t get up to canopy
Is it oke to just cut these off? Or is it to late?

Was quite a job to get in there.

Welcome back matey. Looks amazing in there now. Good job on getting the light about more. Buds will love it. Seems very on track. Had same issue with leakage from blocked bucket too. Drowned my ceilings and bedroom in the process again. Have changed my grow a bit now too. Slight path alterations. Popped the Barneys now too. Keep up the good work mate

What changes did you make in your grow? Still planning to do a scrog on the ladies?
Btw. Found an harmless additive to keep pipelines clean and it’s called “Ata Clean”
Can be used during the whole cycle.

Really couldn’t resist myself to buy some cute little autoflowers to set in the garden this year in open ground :D

Plants recovered quite good after huge defol already.

Yeah I have grown them last year in the garden and they’re just o easy to grow and was a really great smoke too! So I’m really curious about these strains this year! I will do them when I’m back from holiday

Day 30 in flower.
Girls look happy :D
Going on holiday today for 12 days so a friend of mine will take care of the ladies.
