3 x Girl Scout Cookies - 550W LED - Indoor - Soil

Now that I've got 3 indoor grows under my belt.. it was high time to upgrade the equipment.. I'm hooked on growing and want to advance further. I was thinking about going Hydro but after some reading.. I'm just not ready to take that plunge.. so for now, it'll be a soil grow. Here's some intro info...

For the Tent, I've upgraded the Apollo which had a max height of 5' to a Gorilla Grow tent with 6'7 height.

The added height is VERY nice.. The one and only thing I've found I don't like is there are no vent holes one either sides of the tent, just the back. Not a huge thing, just I would rather have the vents where I can clean them easier. Along with the height.. is the extra support bars on top.. They make hanging a 20-30lb light up there a hell of a lot more easier on the mind.

Now onto the light. I've replaced my (3) 300w LEDs for a brand new 550W.

If you followed along on my last Journal I mentioned I was thinking about it but couldn't see spending the money just then. After debating and then getting a 11% discount on all the new stuff I said why not! This LED is just beautiful.. Among the many features, the control panel was the main reason I chose this LED. Being able to control the Red / Blue / White LEDs and having an internal Timer.. so delightful. I'm just hoping this LED holds up to the companies statements. Seeing as I've not seen one single 'real' review this LED.. I'm delighted to give it a go. If this pup doesn't do better than my Apollo Panels.. well.. It better do something! =)

Here are the 4 shades, full white / red / blue / view mode (which has some red on)

Here's some tech info on the lights..
My old (3) 300w lights were 3.76amp 444watts at the wall. The 550 is 3.44amp 412w. So less amps! I may be able to use my microwave and not blow a breaker! (not!) (and the individual LED's at their peak)
White - .90a 107w / View Mode
Red 1.74a 209w
.96a 115w

I also did a PAR test just to see how the Light would be based on the height.. The coverage @ 30" is what I'll end up going with. Unless it's 2 plants.. then I'll wing it.

For nutrients I also changed from the Gen Hydro to Fox Farm's line. Why? No real reason other than I like trying new things =)

Now.. onto the the Strain. I went with my Girl Scout Cookies Auto seeds.. And after cruising the Forum.. I see they're very popular on here =) so tons of info!

I originally planned on going with 2 plants, but decided 3 may be a better option in case one decides to be a male. Or two!! But shhh.. we won't talk about that =)

I'll be using my usual wet towel

between two plates

I don't plan on scrogging these plants but that may change depending on how they grow. All I know is since harvesting the last plants.. I've had empty nest syndrome.. I miss the sound of the fans! So rather than waiting till I moved and the holidays are over.. HERE WE GO!!

I'll dig into the soil and ratios in rest in a few day(s) once I have something to go with =)

Cheerio!

liftoff! ill let them grow a lil more.. in my little exp.. they do better with a bigger tail

I'm going to work on getting my time lapse installed (waiting on a mount) to get some videos like I had in my pk.

now its the wait for happy sprouts!

I forgot how fun it is just to watch these lil plants grow.. so tiny but so much potential..

I'm also not liking how this tent leaks so much light from the zipper.. ill be contacting someone about this.. ive heard nothing but good about these tents..

From small beginnings comes great big Borker buds. These plants have no idea what the future has in store for them. I'll pull a seat and enjoy this repeat broadcast of the Borker and the beanstalks saga. Good luck to you and...

KiG :green_heart:cheers

as I prepare to go into feeding mode.. im seeing this calls for 6tsp per g. and a 420 to 560 ppm. my water with calmag is 570.. and I just added 5ml to a g which rang up to.. 681.. oh please dont burn lol

also have reposition the camera so I can do a complete timelapse moving fwd till end. hopefully this works!

oooo shiny lights...subbed

call me Wilson W. Wilson but...

do you always feed this early on?

keep up the good work :)
this is the first I've used ff nutrients but with the ff soil I've noticed it doesn't have what I consider enough to sustain plants 30 days with no help.. so I just like to add. I'm a daring soul so I enjoy experimenting :)

I'll double up the dose this week .. just not the 6tsp they say lol.. that's a lot!

off with their heads! topped all three tonight.. I'm hoping for a fourfer manifold type of grow out. and then straight up.. maybe 4 nodes out.. but will see.. I may top after second to get an 8fer :)

did another feeding if the big bloom.. however this time I did half a gallon of water and 5ml of it.. rather than 10ml in 1g. came out to 719ppm ... seeing as I only used 1/4 of a G of water why waste!

transplant time.. I moved them into 3g smartpots and raised the lights up some.. as you can also tell.. I tied them down.. for the soil I did a 3 to 1 ratio on the perlite and I was going to feed today but decided on waiting since its new soil. oh and I also took the first set of leaves off each
