My method is to start germinate them using the water method and jiffy pellets. Then once I see them sprout I moved them into "Fox Farm Ocean Natural".
Once I saw the Tap root I transplanted the seed into its own 5 gallon Start Pot. Before planting the seed I make a small hole using my knuckle and I sprinkle a little Mykos for the root.
The volume of a container can easily dictate the size of a plant. Cannabis is an annual; it grows very fast and requires a lot of root space for sustained, vigorous development. Containers should be big enough to allow for a strong root system, but just big enough to contain the root system before harvest. If the container is too small, roots are confined, water and nutrient uptake is limited, and growth slows to a crawl. But if the container is too big, it requires too much expensive growing medium and becomes heavy and awkward to move.
When the seed tap root poke through the air holes in the side of the pot they form a callus at the tip and start growing more taproots off the part of the original tap root that's still in the soil. It's kinda like if you cut off the end of your finger and instead of having a nub, your finger grows two more fingers out of the side of the nub to grow as long as the original finger. Then those new fingers get cut off and the process repeats itself.
This is why the plants are feeding so heavily. Instead of the plant feeding itself with small feeder roots they're gorging on nutes because they're feeding through tap roots.
ON December 9th 2016 MY SEEDS SPROUTED THEY WILL SIT IN THE VEGETATIVE STAGE FOR A LEAST 50 DAYS. I HAVE NO CLUE IF THE SEEDS I RECEIVED ARE ALL PHOTO OR AUTOS OR A MIXTURE OF BOTH WE SHALL FIND OUT
