Debudman's 1st Journal

Hey Truth,
Yes, My two large plants are lined up in this photo. The other one is behind it.
If you look off to the left side you will see the other shorty that is now starting to grow :).
Not sure why it was so delayed. Well actually I know it had to do with the root system when I got the clone.
The roots just never seemed to take off. But I think it will turn around and surprise me with a nice reward.
I planned to do a another compost tea this weekend, but had some emergency issues come up in the last few days that
pretty much disabled my plans for anything.

So you're going for grow 6... Awsome my brotha :headbanger:
I assume it will be indoor since it is a bit late for an outdoor now.
Well you can start outdoor and then move in. Get the most of the sun
while you have it ..

Hey Truth,

No, still a bit early for flowering in my area.. The days have not started to get shorter yet. When that happens then the flowering will begin. :) Will begin soon though..

As for indoor lighting...
I knew someone who invested a pretty large some of money on one of the top LED performers and was not happy.
In the money they spent on the light they could have had some T5s and maybe a 600 watt sodium light that from what I have seen and heard testimonies from people would have been much happier with the bang to buck factor.

In my research, that is what I will be going with for indoor.. I'm going to just start with tome T5 side fills and maybe a 600watt sodium on the top.

Maybe build a screen to cover the ladies?

Just a thought...

:yahoo: FLOWER POWER TIME! :yahoo:

It's going to be a party in the pots!

BTW, My grow journal has started with the LED lights! Follow the link in my signature brotha!

:Namaste:

Truth:
Yes, I definitely have thought of building a screen enclosure.
But the issue is money. To build one large enough, the screen material is pretty costly.
A couple seasons back I was just moving my plants from the patio into an adjacent patio
screen room enclosure. The problem is the plant still got attacked. It could be because
I forgot to put her in before dark. :rolleyes3 I think that was the issue. But I looked at the enclosure
today and there is big spaces between certain boards and I think the moths can still get in.
This is why I decided to use the garage. I carried them in at 8:00pm exactly just as the sun was going down.
I am hoping by doing this I am avoiding all threat of those freeking moths.. Those things really wreak havoc..
The worst part about them is that they attack your best premier colas.. The damn moths sink their asses into
the top buds and lay their eggs. I spent hours upon hours out pulling worms from my buds with tweezer.. it was
a nightmare. That was a bad year. That year I had been hit with spider mites on top of it all.

The best of luck with your LED light Grow..
Are you growing in a tent, or closet, bathroom or what?
I will try to pop in to check it out :smokin:

KingJohn:
Sorry about the pictures, or lack of them.
I will try to get some taken in the next couple days
to supplement this weeks update.

Peace my brotha's ... :Namaste:

Well it's been the second night I have let the ladies sleep inside.
It is kind of a pain in the (_|_) bringing them in and out every day,
but hopefully the reward will be not seeing any of those damn bud worms
this year.. It's to early to tell, but I don't think the moths come out until after dark.
So if I put them in before dark I am hoping I will be ok.. I hear that some years
they don't come around. I wish I knew when that was?

Hey Truth...
I can't wait to check out your setup...
One good thing about the indoor....You don't have that constant battle with the bugs.
But so far with me bringing mine in before dark..seems to be working. I will know for
sure after the bud porn develops to maturity.. I will be pissed if I get any more of those
freeking worms...

What is the approximate cost factor of your lights and tent setup if you don't mind me asking?
If I go indoor I am going to try in my shower :) .

The Gorilla Grow Tent look pretty kewl..
For me I am going to make my shower into a Gorilla grow room :Rasta:
And 5-7 bulb T5 to start.. If that isn't enough I will use the T5's as sidefills and
drop a 600watt sodium down from the top.

When you going to start your grow seeker...I am anxious to check it out to see how the led performs for the money.

Well Seeker...
I transplanted one of my house plants a couple weeks ago since the soil was going sour.
I picked up a bag of Miracle Grow for potted plants.. In the last couple weeks it has lost its leaves
and looked worse than I have seen any plant... I have decided never to use that Miracle Grow garbage again.
I took it out today and dumped all that garbage and dropped in some fox farms... Oh yeah, it is perking up already :).
I learned the best soil is that with no nutrients infused into the soil. This way you can add what you need and the plants don't
get to much of the nutrients at the times they don't need them.

My ladies are looking awsome... They are super bushy, green and healthy.. The buds are forming nicely. I was thinking of making another batch of compost tea, but adjusting my recipie with some high phosphorous bat guano and a few other things that I think are benificial to the flowering process. Right now I have uped my nutes to its limits of 20mgs and have been mixing a TBS of black strap molasses every other watering. The ladies are smiling.. It has been a pain in the (_|_) taking them in every night though.. Its hard to lift the damn things cause they are huge.. I water in the morning though so they suck up the water and are lighter to move at night :).
I am determined this year though not to get attacked by those worms this year.

How's your Sunday going my brotha????
I still have a hard time adjusting to your new name.. I don't know why, but sometimes I don't associate you as the same person I knew.. Hmmmm must be the good smoke or something... hahah :grinjoint:

Defoliation

Hello Truth..
Your absolutely right ... But only one of my plants was really in need of defoliation.
I was just so busy haven't had a chance to do it. I should have done it much sooner.
Today I went out and did the defoliation deed though. Now I am set for the final ride.
I am going down to get some bud candy today.. I never tried it, but here it works pretty well
and gives your buds a much better taste.. Stuff is sure expensive though...
I'm also starting a final batch of tea for the crop to give my ladies a boost of nutrients for the end and
inoculate the soil with some fresh microbes..

Here's sum pics brotha.... And thanks for reminding me to defoliate :)

The 3rd pic was the problem child..
She finally started a little growth spurt right up to the end.
I never could figure out what was wrong with her. I just think
the cloning was just very successful on that one. The root system was flawed from the
beginning. I was suprised though how healthy she rebounded.. :)
