Depot's 1st Grow - Buddha Purple Kush - Budget Setup - CFL

thats good, glad to know about the pheno.

ive seen phenos that have grew out of the same seed express very differently on producing nanners, some might not even get them.

its just the natures way of 'living on' so gotta deal with it right

it was nice of you letting us know about the pheno since i was indeed thinking about it and i guess you could tell when i started asking about it. I was just saying that nanner problems are only natural with beauties like this, how could it not want to leave its genetic code behind, its freaking purple.

can't wait on the chops, real winner this one :thumb:

You're right man!
I would still recommend this pheno, it's really easy to grow and great looking buds.. You could spend hours looking at them grow ahah

I really wonder how big and tasty it would get if grown with proper lights! :Namaste:

As great as they look, I'm betting it will be a fantastic harvest. Hope they smoke as good as they look.
Thanks for the kind words!
Stay tuned for the smoke report :high-five:

Here we go with my first ever harvest report :cheer:

I left it without lights for almost 2 days, then took fan leaves off and let it partially dry upside down for a night.
Then manicured it before it got too dry to handle.. did some heavy manicure, that's how I like it :Namaste:

Weight after 1 day of drying and after manicure is 85g, I hope to get around 15 grams when fully dry, it would be a great result for 64W of CFLs :Namaste:
PICS!!

Depot is happy, looking way better than I would expect with such low wattage CFLs

nice job harvesting that magnificent beast, what are you planning to do with the sugar left behind.

id vote for cooking oil for some good ol hash brownies or butter for your everyday cookie :smokin:

Thanks bro, I'm really satisfied with this first harvest
it's not really much sugar leaves BUT I'll be making some tasty butter tomorrow! :)

I'll make sure to post some pics of the process since you seem interested (first time doing it, lets see what will the outcome be ahahah)

im always intrested in good product brother :thumb:

ive done the process couple of times, with and without water, and i still prefer cooking oil to cannabutter. Somehow i find oil to be a better catalyst but if you wanna do oil make sure its not frying but neither just 'hot', find that sweet spot. everyone has tis own temperatures where he likes to cook. I like cooking in lower degrees, everything expresses better :)

congrats again mate for your harvest, looks good i can tell and not just cause of the colour

Enough with hanging dry (2 days), they are feeling quite dry already. A sweet and light scent is developing during the drying process.
I cut the buds off the stems and will now keep them in a paper bag for around 3 days and then to the jar

Had chance to test buds not fully developed yet, since they dried earlier and it was a nice smoke; sweet taste, not harsh at all. Buzz is really heavy at first, but gets you going soon and slowly decreases leaving me pretty much active
A good cure will get some decent buds for sure! :cheer:

Here's some pics before going into the bag, hope you like :Namaste:

Smoke report, Buddha Purple Kush
IMG_20150506_174109.jpg

Look & Feel - Buds look exotic, trichomes are really visible. Purple color is predominant all over the bud with orange pistils standing out and creating a nice color contrast.
The fully dried flowers look look dense but they feel quite fluffy. Few seeds here and there due to the nanners in late flowering, they're so small you need a loupe to notice them (may be polluting the taste just a bit though)

About the aroma; it smells like sour grape, hitting the nose hard when popping the jar open. A bit of honey scent when cracking a bud. Very strong grape smell when grinding up.

It's very sticky and trichomes make a nice visual effect when being observed under a good light.

Lets get to the taste; very clean smoke, big hits will make you cough pretty hard but it's all good since you'll get that strong taste of delicious sour grape every time you cough :)
I love how the smoke expands after a pipe hit, noticeably more than most strains I've smoked
Buzz jumps on after around 5 mins, laughable and leaves you pretty active, no couch-lock.. more like going out for a walk! Love the sativa-like buzz, even though this plant should be dominant indica on the paper.

Got to admit potency is high enough for a regular smoker, nothing extreme.

I wouldn't grow this strain again though. Plant had low-to-no stress at all, but still it decided to grow nanners and contaminate a possibly great harvest.

:Namaste:
