Looking good grandpa.:smokin:

Yes you can go from soil to hydro no problem at all. When your ready I'll tell you how.

Pan4

Thanxxx Pan4...I am still trying to decide on which system to use. It's still a budget vs. yield ratio type of thing...but I know I can count on you dude. :bong:

Cant wait to see the soil to hydro process its gonna be very informational!

Yea 18tnightskunk...this hydro experience is gonna be cool ! :yummy:

Just stopping by :smokin:

I got home tonight and felt the soil with my finger about a quarter of an inch down and it felt dry to me, so I added just a little. I don't want to make the same mistake twice. About how much water should they get when they are this young and sensitive ?:helpsmilie:

At any rate...my plans are to get these 4 up and running strong first. And concentrate ONLY on these 4 to begin with. And after they are a bit bigger, get some clones off the mother of our choosing and put those into the other cab using hydro. My thinking is that since hydro is a faster grow, they all will harvest about the same time. :headbanger: By my estimation that will put me into mid to late June.

I will have my 2nd hydro unit by then, and use more clones to get a second harvest before I leave for NorCal around the first week in August. :rollit: That's the plan anyway.

I am keeping a daily journal including pics so I can document each and everything I do this time. And of course...I will be looking to you, my extended 420 family for guidance and wisdom. :peace:

Re: Grandpa's White Widow - 2nd Grow...NO MISTAKES!

Hi Grandpa, with my recent seedlings I didn't water them until tonight which is day 5 for them. I water the soil when I put the beans in, I'm not sure if you did or not? I gave them a half a cup each.

"Old Rockers Never Die"

(words & music by Kato)
May 5, 2009

Southern boy - born to rock
Living a life of pure sin
Done it all - coast to coast
Released the demon within

Older now - but I ain't dead
Still feel the burn in my soul
No more booze - no more blow
I've got me under control

And you know what they say
Old rockers never die
Just won't fade away
We keep getting high

Been with church girls - porn stars too
Now one girl's all I need
Balancing kids with the music I love
Surviving on the that sweet weed

That green bud - keeps me straight
As I continue to rock
Pack my bong - light me up
Secrets of my soul I'll unlock

Yea you know what they say
Old rockers never die
Just won't fade away
We're getting high - staying high
I'm not going away
Not gonna say good-bye
I'm made of stone - not of clay
And I'm getting high

Took me about 10 minutes including music...just something short and sweet. :rollit:

Peace yall...have a great day ! :peace:

Re: Grandpa's White Widow - 2nd Grow...NO MISTAKES!

its a Ph/TDS/Ec tester. If your doing hydro I would recomend it. However you can grow without it. If you are diligent with the water changes and follow the nute instructions you should be good. BUT A PH TESTER IS A MUST IN HYDRO. Ph is the core, bad ph...no grow. the TDS/EC is for total diolved solids (PPM_ parts per million),

Thanxxx Pit, I need to pick one up. :thanks: However I hurt my back at work Monday night, and until workers comp kicks in (3 weeks) my budget just got a hell of a lot tighter. So I may be doing just the soil grow...until that first harvest rolls in :)cheertwo:)

Cool song Grandpa.:smokin:

Wow Pit thats very cool glad you could show it off.;)

Great work.:cheer:

Pan4

Thanxxx Pan4...I appreciate it. I will put it in the stack of songs I have written over the years which I will make absolutly no money from. But you know as well asI do...it's not about the cash, it's about the creativity. :peace:

Re: Grandpa's White Widow - 2nd Grow...NO MISTAKES!

I may have a problem with my new seedlings. Two of them are doing pretty good. One is laying over (yet green), and the last one to poke thru the soil has no leaves and is layed over like a corpse. I watered just a touch last night, and today the soil is dry as a bone. I turned the heating pad off...and the heat today got damn close to 90 degrees. The overhead cfl was a very weak one to start with, so I removed it believing it to only be causing more heat. The fan was blowing at somewhat of an angle and accross the plants. This may have caused one of them to lay down...but why not the two that are still standing ? Maybe the heat was a factor today. But how can I regulate the cab heat if they need so much light and the outside temp is high like it was today ? I wonder if I can put them on a dark time during the hottest part of the day...maybe 6 hours (11 am to 5 pm) and then 18 hours of light while it is coolest outside. And if I do this, should I keep the fans on during dark time ? Since I have no batteries for my camera, pix will be up of them tomorrow.

Re: Grandpa's White Widow - 2nd Grow...NO MISTAKES!

Luvin the song! I too wish we had audio. ;-)

If your plants stretched up too much, they probably couldn't handle the wind and that's why they laid over.

YES! A lot of people do this in order to control temps. Great job! + REP! I would lay off the fan until your 2 plants turn up. They should turn up towards the light.

Thanxxx Ms.Fox for the compliment on the song...maybe sometime someone will figure out a way to add audio to the site and I will perform it with an acoustic...:rocker:

And that's exactly what I am gonna do. The lights go off at 11 am every day from here on out and back on at 5 pm. The exhaust fans should be left on I assume...but the "breeze fan" goes off until they turn up. :yummy:

Thanxxx again Ms.Fox...you're the goods :adore:
