Hello From Ontario Canada

Thanks for the advise. I think I will let Jane do her thing as she was less affected than Mary. I did remove a lot of crispy leaves off Mary but left all the leaves surrounding the bud. You are saying it is ok to remove those also? In a week or so I plan on doing a full flush. Will the plant not need nutrients from these leaves for last week or so of bud growth?
At this point all she's doing is trying to produce resin so that some pollen might stick, one of the reasons that your bottom fan leaves turn yellow when a plant is close to maturity is that the plant itself stops feeding them and lets them die so it can produce more resin. Any sick sugar leaf that isn't capable of doing it's job is actually sucking energy away from resin production, be conservative but clip the worst ones.

Hey @onewarmguy ...

I'm not sure that pruning a fan leaf on an unhealthy plant is a good idea.

The fan leaf is a factory and a potential for nutrients, cooling, etc. ... so, if it is not diseased, we likely want to stress the plant as little as possible and let the plant cannibalize the fan leaf naturally as it tries to recover.

Also, the plant is in flower ... so, in my opinion, the less stress the better.

Maybe I missed something though? ...

Hey @Plutopirate ... I just read through your journal ... looks pretty good!

I am also growing 2 Bakerstreets ... only I quadlined them ... which is a simplified version of main-lining and fluxing.

It was nice to see what the plant looks like in flower ... I liked the color of the buds.

I'm looking forward to more updates and I'm hoping all your plants pull through!!!

What strains are you choosing for your next grow?
Next will be one plant and will b
Hey bud just wondering how Mary and Jane bounced back from the “sun stroke” hope their doing okay.

Jane is doing great. Mary is hanging in there

Ya they look like monsters compared to a couple months ago.

I bought some 5g pots for my grow of 4 plants.. but seeing how much yours took off, I don't see me need bigger than 3g pots to fill the tent.
My tent is pretty small. It should only be used for 2 plants max. 2 feet x 4 feet. I have 5 gallon pots. When I had the 3 plants, it was way too crowded.

Hey all - Another Ontario C'najun here - first time grower. I wish I had studied this hard 55 years ago when I was in school !!! My girls have already outgrown my greenhouse and I renovate almost daily to keep up. Beulah is now over 6 feet and Angie, Caryl and DeeDee are close behind but what a fun experiment!!

Wow! That's fantastic ... six feet ... do you have a grow journal here yet?

When you have to renovate ... that's worth sharing!

Hey SQ - Thanx - I guess "An Old Newbie" in "Introduce yourself" would be my grow journal - I'm not well versed in how to navigate around the site yet.

Super ... I will look that up.

In my signature there is a link called How to Make a Grow Journal ... or just click this one.

I stumbled on this site by accident and at the time was tracking my progress on paper ... but starting a journal here was awesome!

I got to track my progress with pictures, read other journals, share information, ... way more than I ever expected!

Once the fan leaves turn yellow they're not doing a thing for the plant, no chlorophyll = no energy, the plant won't miss em, kind of like clipping your toenails. As a bonus removing them opens the depths of the plant up to more light, more light during flower means better buds. Here's what I had just before harvest on my Jack Herrer.

And this is what it looked like 10 days before

The lesson I took away was that when your female is in flower she stops feeding anything that doesn't help produce resin. I was feeling terrible because I thought she was sick, turns out she was just getting rid of deadweight.

Now that it is legal to do so, I decided to try to grow a few plants. I have 3 Bakerstreet Kush plants about 1 month from seed. I bought basic tent, lights, nutes etc and am making typical newbe mistakes but it is becoming a fun hobby. Hope to tap in to the great resources here along the way so I don't totally screw it up. lol

Hey Pluto - Are the brown edges and such from the sunburn??

Leaves normally turn near the end. Nothing to worry over. It's getting close.
