My Second Grow

8/19/23
All plants are doing great. AG Day 32 4”M1xCL Day 31 4” SLD Day 27 6.5”. Cleaned up some of the M1 to try to help her fix her mutation which she seems to be trying to do.

So the girls are looking kinda off but not 100% sure the issue. My thoughts are maybe nitrogen or zinc deficiency from everything I’ve read it seems like one of those but could use some guidance. New light makes them appear lighter in the pictures

They look good to me. New growth will often come in a lighter, fresher green but will mature out to a darker color.

Usally if there's an issue, the older growth will give up color to give the new growth what they need, at least for the mobile nutrients.

Thanks for the feedback. Still learnin so when I see something I’m unsure of or can’t find researchin I gotta ask

So question to whomever can answer. I’m in soil and I’m not 100% sure how much I should be watering. I’ve been doing 4 cups and the pots get wet on the bottom with a little runoff. Am I under watering/feeding? If I am how much should I be giving them? Im in soil & 5g pots

Several different ways to do it.

One popular way is the wet/dry cycle where you let the pot dry out to where it is surprising light when you pick it up and then water slowly and thoroughly and repeat through veg. Once you get to flower that stops and you give them what they want.

Another way for organic growers is small amounts more regularly.

I'm partial to SIPs where the plant waters itself so no judgment needed on when to water. The reservoir is empty? Give it some water. Simple.

I’ve been using the lift the bag method to tell and checking with a soil meter. But I have little to no runoff. Most I’ve spoke to say they’re feedin 1g per 5g pot
I find my soil mix can store about 20-25% of its volume in water when it's soaked so that sounds about right. And most soil moisture meters aren't worth much.

You might try, just once, letting them dry out until the plants just start to go limp and get a feel for how heavy they are at that point and then in the future plan on watering them just a day before they get to that point. You probably have more water in there than you realize.

And some runoff is generally recommended to help gently flush buildup of stuff out of the pot. But don't let the plants sit in it for long. Maybe 15 minutes is good to let them reabsorb what they can but, after that, empty the saucers.

So this is them this morning after getting fed yesterday 8/24/23. The SLD has started to curl her leaves and droop. She’s been doing that about an he before lights out last few weeks. From what I’ve looked up and read is the nutrients we’re maybe too much m. I gave them all full strength (wk2) figured I’d see what would happen and be able to fix it.

Update 8//25/23 7:15pm Candyland is looking good for her mutation seems to be handling full strength feeds. AG may have some curling/dropping will back her off on the does also. SLD still the same. Going to spray them tonight with foop. Also noticed 1/3 of the water saturation was gone. I know the light probably dries out the top but going by picking them up weight is a little lighter. Also you’ll see how the mutation is growing

Your droop could be several things. They'll often droop right after watering as the water temporarily drives oxygen out of the mix, and also they anticipate lights out by drooping. If you look at them after the lights are out they will be droopy and often will perk up a few minutes before lights on.

I was trying to narrow it down and the only thing I could think of is she wasn’t quite ready for full strength. Reason I came to that conclusion is all 3 plants had the same amount and she was the only one droopy and had some leaf curling. For the past week or so the SLD usually would get droopy before lights out like she was ready for it and she’d be perky in the morning. After the feeding she’s been droopy all day. Could too much Nitrogen cause leaf curling/droopiness?

Apple 🍎 Glitter ✨ Day 46 H 9”
Mac1 x Candyland Day 45 H 7.5”
Sour Lemon 🍋 Dropz Day 41 H 14.5”

All got some ph water today and might mist them with some foop before lights out. Topped both the AG twice more & mac1 once more. Lst has been fairly easy jus tying them down and bending them. Entering week 4 on the nutrients. May go to 5 weeks of veg then flip to flower

Apple 🍎 Glitter ✨ Day 53
M1xCL Day 52
SLD Day 48

All plants are doing good. Had some #issues with the SLD curling & hooking. Fed them all 9/8/23 the AG & M1xCL both got full strength week 4 of #advancednutrients while the SLD received 1/2 strength. Will continue to monitor the SLD. Also lowered my #vivosun light to 80%(was at 100%)
Two pics of the SLD one yesterday morning and the other one from this morning.

Apple 🍎 Glitter ✨ Day 56
M1xCL Day 55
SLD Day 51
Week 5 of Veg

All plants are doing good. The AG is showing some signs of her original mutation. The SLD is is slowly unclawing herself since lowering the #vivosun light to 75% and the M1xCL is doing nice for still having her mutation. Gave them all 1/2 strength feed if #advancednutrients yesterday. Might set up a scrog towards the end of the week

The earlier pictures looked like K or Ca deficiency
As the roots have grown in, they're looking a lot better - nice one
My current grow I've been adding a tiny bit of PK and 3ml/L Doff seaweed extract with every watering
I also experimented with a mix of potting soil, coco, frass and blood/fish/bone
