Number of Plants: 9
Strains: 5x Standard T.H. Seeds Bubblegum, 2x Fem. Super Lemon Haze, 1x Fem. Reserva Privada Cole Train, 1x Fem. DNA Sharksbreath
Indoor/Outdoor: Indoor Secret Jardin DR120
Medium(s): Seedling - 1:1 Fox Farm Ocean Forest (cut with 20% Perlite):Fox Farm Lightwarior. Plants will move to full FFOF after 2 weeks.
Container Size: 3.5 Gallon after 2 weeks veg, Currently in 4 inch square containers.
Lighting: 600 Watt Galaxy, Ushio Opti-Blue(veg) Ushio Opti-Red(flower)
Hood: Magnum XXXL 6"
Cooling: Sunleaves 6" 300ish CFM, 6" Phresh Filter
Nutrients: Earth Juice Full Line, Batswana Bloomer, Blackstrapp Molasses

This is my first go with seeds that cost a lot of money. I was reluctant to go with FFOF, but I bought a ton on my last go due to a deep bulk discount and I can't bear seeing it just thrown away. Once these plants are a go I will be building my own soil for all future grows.

I find pest infestations (not as in a fungus gnat here and there, full on infestation) in what is considered "top shelf" soil totally unacceptable

Two weeks ago the soil was mixed with two tbs per gallon pulverized dolomitic lime (2:1 Cal:mag) and Mosquito Dunk (Bacillus thuringiensis) culture was watered in. One week ago predatory nematodes (Steinernema and Heterorhabditis) were introduced. The mindset here is to try to take immediate control of any detrimental larvae that might be present. Eliminating them is a pipe dream.

Seeds are germinating directly in soil as of last night (10/16). They were soaked for about 6 hours beforehand. A heating pad was placed underneath the containers which is keeping the temps at approximately 76 degrees.

We're just waiting on the Cole Train.

Front row seats to see how these strains grow! Looking good so far man. And I hear ya on the FFOF and the fungus gnats. Am dealing with that myself as well, but I didn't find out until I started seeing the little buggers. I too find it very unacceptable for a $30 bag of soil to have larvae in it.

Well good luck bro, I'm strapped in for the ride!

Thanks man. I recommend the mosquito dunk for your water if you're not doin it already. It won't take them out, but it helps quite a bit. I can't stand the got damned things. I saw a couple yesterday when i turned the soil so i sprayed a fine layer of neem solution over the top. I couldn't find anything today. When I opened this bag a couple weeks ago it was full of them.

grow babies grow :cheer:
ditto on the ffof this is my last time using it, always get something in it.
used it this go round cuz i got it for 10 bucks a bag well i bought 27 bags of it ,but still next time it'll be something new !!!!!
goodluck RD, i do love legend of the seeker great show !!!!! :tokin:

Yeah, it's shit. And there's no way it's the fault of the grow shop, its always stored dry inside. As a matter of fact, I've never actually seen a single bag of soil outside there. From what I've heard its primarily an issue on the west coast. Maybe a distributor issue? Who knows, the quality seems to be slipping overall. Don't know if its like that nationwide... I think Fox Farm might have gotten a little too big for their britches.

Ms. Cole Train has come out to play:

Pretty stoked to have 100% germination, considering the fact that I forgot to point them downward when I dropped them in. Tomorrow they will awake to the MH for the first time (yes, it will be raised)

hey roaul! how are you man? your set up is looking good. i like those square pots. i cant wait to see how the earth juice line works for you. i wanna use all organic as well....eventually. That six hundie light is gonna give you some rocking nugs. Ill be following along bro. :tokin:

Hey falcore,

I'm glad that I've got you on board for this one! Doin good, the weather is turning to shit out here in the PNW but, it's spring time in my closet! I'm pretty excited to see what this EJ can really do too, and the Ushio MH is beautiful, I wish I could chill in there all day...

Not much going on, they're all working their second leaf sets. They were all watered for the first time yesterday with a spray bottle. I've been lowering the mh 2" per day and it is now at 24" from the canopy. They are currently on a 20/4 schedule. Ran into a little stretch on the first four plants to sprout. I accidentally left the timer on 14 hrs on, d'oh! Easily resolved by adding a little dirt after watering...

They all seem to like the light. Temps remain consistently 75-77 at the canopy, rh 45-52 since germination.

This SLH forgot to grow a leaf:

Two weeks from dropping the seeds

I'm petty happy with the 1 FFOF:1 FFLW mix. They're drinking water happily and need quenching every three days. Nice green, no sign of deficiency. Growing quite voraciously.

The metal halide is at 22" from canopy and the plants are loving it. I'm leaving it where it is for now prally just let the plants grow into it, as they remain quite stout(not the sativas).

Pretty impressed with the Bubblegum. Absolutely beautiful so far. The Cole Train I'm pretty sure is a runt but I'll let her go. I had a runt sativa on the last go that gave me 2 oz. I can't wait to see the leaves on the Shartksbreath.

Currently using lemon juice as PH down for their tapwater.

hey raoul your plants are looking nice
what is the break down on the types of strains as far as sativa and indica?

Hey falcore, The Super Lemon Haze is mostly sativa (Lemon Skunk x Super Silver Haze). The Super Silver Haze brings some Northern Lights, so a little indica. These don't seem as hardy as the indicas, the one leaf wonder is pulling off some crazy mutant shiat right now.

Bubblegum I have no idea what makes it. Indica dominant hybrid is all that I can really find. All phenos are very close in structure already. Seems like rock solid strain.

Sharksbreath Great White Shark x Jamaican Lambsbread, 80% indica. This pheno is gonna have some big ol fat leaves.

Cole Train Jasmine (silver haze derivative) x Train Wreck. Its a runt, and its my fault.

You germ your seeds the same way that I go about it. Looking good brother!

Thanks for dropping in Velo. Yeah, I was pretty surprised with how quickly they sprouted. It doesn't really make much sense to do it any other way, now. Next time I'll need to remember to point them downward though, I scored myself a runt because I forgot.

As of yesterday I noticed that the plants had slowed down a tad overall, become a little droopy and displayed some calcium deficiency in the first set of developed leaves. They can drink all of their water in one day. It seems that just about every single one of them is about to scream for some new dirt. Looks like it's time to make a huge fucking mess of the bathroom...

Here they are in their last moments of their 4" container life:

Also, now that a few hours have passed since the transplant I've noticed that the plants seem a bit shocked. Maybe for the next go around don't go so light on the seedling mix. With the transplanting technique I use I seldom see transplant shock but, with everything I've ever done (not just cannabis), it's been soil A to soil A.

RaoulDuke, that is a great transplant method!! Can't believe I never thought of that. +reps bro

Also, you may want to water with Superthrive after a transplant to help reduce shock. Just in case you didn't already know!

:peace:

Thanks for the Reps!

Yeah I've been wondering about trying some Superthrive out but it's sale is banned in my state. Kinda weird...

Wow. Really? That is a shame. I can't believe plant hormones and vitamins, that are not just for cannabis, could be banned for sale. Talk about tyranny.

I might have to mail you a gift, because that really is not cool. I'm sure gifts are still legal.
