Round 2-4140w LED-6x12 Monster SCROG-Hydro Recirculating System-PK-Chernobyl-Berrybom

Re: Round 2-4140w LED-6x12 Monster SCROG-Hydro Recirculating System-PK-Chernobyl-Berr

In my past profession I could get wire made in any configuration I needed. I'm not an electronics specialist, I let them do the calculating as to what I would require to repair or fabricate harnesses, or make repairs on electrical components, then I would tell the mfgr. and .....bam, it would be there. Simply put, if you're willing to pay you can get anything on this earth.

That true. I used to buy specialized wire to build audio components (silver plated braided copper in a teflon jacket was my favorite). I suppose you could get home wiring with thicker insulation. I just think all the Romex at the hardware store will have the same insulation for a given gauge of wire.

Damn. I missed all the fun conversation. +reps mcloadie (I tried to Rep ya hiker... gotta spread the love first) perfect responses solid info

Why did you run 10/3? My 240V plugs only need the 2 phases of 120 and the common. No place to connect a neutral on the outlets I used.

The advantage of 240 is more lights on smaller wire and fewer breakers. That's the only difference I know of.

Watts are always watts. P=VA, is Power (Watts) = Voltage (V) * Current(Amps). Watts always stay the same. If you change voltage, the current changes. Here is a way to think about electricity and these terms. Power is the amount of work. You can also think of it as the amount of energy expended, or how much light was given off. The other side of the equation has the Amps, which describe the number, or quantity, of electrons moving through the circuit, and the Voltage, which describes how much energy they are carrying. The bulb needs a certain amount of energy delivered to it in order to operate. The electrons are the deliverymen carrying am amount of energy in proportion to the Voltage. The number of deliverymen is the Amps. There are two ways to get the the energy it needs. We can increase the number of deliverymen, or have each deliveryman carry more energy.

Hopefully this helps someone understand electricity a little better.

I'm trying to understand why a ballast would run cooler on 240V. It must have to do with less electrons passing through the circuit. I've never heard of cooler temps as an advantage. I ran 2 240V circuits for the lighting in my 2 flower rooms because I wanted to use fewer circuit breakers. As it is, I'm already using 2 slots in my breaker box. If I had went with 120V, it would have taken 4 slots.

I am NOT an electrician. I have setup several grow ops over the years though. I also studied electrical engineering for awhile in college before changing to computer science. I do however have a brother and 2 close friends that are electricians, so I've learned a lot from them over the years by asking questions. Please take all this into account before listening to any of my electrical advice. If you're in doubt about ANYTHING when doing wiring, STOP, and seek out advice from an expert.

+reps from me too , for this quality post of yours hiker !!!!!!! It was something I needed too...

since im doing a large auto grow outdoors this year I figure its time to get my feet wet and give one a try now so I know what to expect from them.I have some Big Buddha cheese automatic and some Bomb seeds Auto bomb.I decided to give the bbca a go.I just got done reading a journal on them and from the exellent results that grower had with them I think this will be my main strain this year.Im sure I ll try a few more auto strains but I think it will be easier to have the majority of them all one strain for ease of feeding.Anybody with auto experience please feel free to chime in with suggestions as this is the first time Ive grown an auto strain.Ive also decided to stick with what I know for this first attempt at autos and use sinthetic nutes.Ive never mixed a batch of organic soil in my life and Im worried that I will kill the autos with to hot of a mix or something, these seeds arent cheap, at least with sinthetics i can dial it down if its to hot. wish me luck.

Good luck, you'll do better than fine!

Lol...thanks for the reps Curso:Namaste: why am I cheating? the sinthetics? Ive heard that auto's dont like alot of nutes so im worried that a supersoil or High brix mix might be to hot for them.I ll probably pick up one of Doc's kits and try them indoors sometime this year and see how they do.I just dont want to commit to trying something ive never done before on such a large scale(100 plants). This years outdoor is going to finance the finishing touches on my new growspace and a complete rewire ajnd plumbing of my house so I dont want to take any chances:)

Re: Round 2-4140w LED-6x12 Monster SCROG-Hydro Recirculating System-PK-Chernobyl-Berr

High brix wont be to hot but you could probably get away with just some worm castings and pro-mix (20#:3.8sqft) with the auto's. When I get them as freebies I throw them into the 12/12 and forget about them. They're pretty simple I wouldn't be sweating it to much.

I think that means 20 pounds mate. Could be wrong though.

Re: Round 2-4140w LED-6x12 Monster SCROG-Hydro Recirculating System-PK-Chernobyl-Berr

ok, that would be all I need for a good auto grow? im a total organic newbie bro whats #20?
Lol sry bro that's a bad habit of lbs...lol
If you are using the synthetics I would let it ride out as long as I could in the worm castings until they needed something. If you reserve a couple cups of castings you can make a tea with it and might not need the synthetics (keep them on stand by).
