Vyserage's First Indoor Soil Grow - 2017

9/28/17 Day 46: Noticed plant #1 has a leaf that looked prety bad. Looked back on a picture from prior and saw the leaf damage has definitely increased in comparison. Unsure as to what this is caused by, keeping an eye on it until watering to see where it stands.
9/29/17 Day 47: Growth continues, damage to leaf from plant #1 and #3 still slowly increasing. This is assumed to be a pH problem considering results from last watering.
9/30/17 Day 48: Growth continues
9/31/17 Day 49: Growth continues
10/01/17 Day 50: Growth continues
10/02/17 Day 51: Today checked on plants and saw #3 was hella droopy then realised its been 7 days (almost 8)since i watered, where the hell did that time go! All plants lightly droopy but #3 was falling in on itself droopy, brought all plants out and watered them either high pH or low pH water, depending on what last watering pH recordings were. Am aiming for 6.3-6.5 pH of runoff.
Cut off plant #1 and #3's lower leaf's as they were crunchy and/or prety much dead and yellowing.

Watering results: (runoff) (mini flush 2nd set of numbers is final reading)
Water in pH = 7.0

plant #1 pH = 6.20, PPM = 2004
plant #2 pH = 5.82, PPM = 2065
plant #3 (mini flush) pH = 6.05 / 6.25, PPM = 2400 / 0736
plant #4 (mini flush) pH = 5.87 / 6.26, PPM = 3575 / 1070
plant #5 (water in = 6.3 + miniflush with light nute feeding) pH = 6.9 / 6.67, PPM = 0786 / 1034
Clone (water in = 6.3 with light nute feeding) pH = 6.56, PPM = 2009

Now that i can see which way the pH is going, i can more easily control where i want it. I noticed the pH of miracle grow tends to be down lower so you need 7.0 water in (maybe a bit lower, ill know for sure as i water in near future) and for the planet natural soil it tends to be higher so i have to pH water in at 6.3, funny how the soils are different but makes sense. I've also got a decent control on how the time released nutes from miracle grow are so i just give the plants a little mini flush to bring those values back down to acceptable ranges.

I feel like im learning so much from this grow, its awesome! Now i just hope my plants get healthier since most of them are in pH runoff 6.3 - 6.8 and nutes are 2k or below. 9 more days until flowering. I hope i get these issues fixed before start of flowering.

Pic's will be coming soon! i want them to bounce back from that droopyness so they look sexy for their photoshoot :3

Today i did some light clipping to plant #3 to test and see the difference it makes on lower nodes growth. You can see it compared to all the others that havent been tucked/trimmed. I tried doing mostly tucking and only trimmed leafs trying to go back in middle of plant or upper leaf's completely blocking light from transfering down. Basically if i can see a decent amount of light at bottom of pot i know its getting all through the plant.

Only took off 6 leafs total. I'll be doing this to another plant as well just in case plant #3 is male and i throw it away lol. If 2 of the plants i do it to are male, guess next grow will be the real test lol.
8 days to go until start of flowering! I'm thinking i might end up doing a damn good flush to all plants to get rid of all time released nutes (hopefully) so i can feed it myself.

EDIT: defoliated and tucked leafs for remaining plants. Really i only just defoliated 2 more leafs and tucked everything else successfully :D A total of 9 leaf's were removed from all plants (6 from #3, 1 from #1 and 2 from #2 ) Here is what the plants now look like.

10/03/17 Day 52: Defoiled lightly (a total of 8 or 9 leafs from all 5 plants) and tucked all plants leafs to ensure the undernodes are recieving nice amounts of light now. Should have done this sooner but didnt really think about it. I prefer to tuck as much as possible and save clipping (defoil) off leaf's as a last resort if i cant tuck or bend it out of the way. Pics taken.
10/04/17 Day 53: Growth continues.
10/05/17 Day 54: Growth continues. Adjusted leaf's around to get light in. Pulled off 3 dead lookin leaf's (2 from 1 plant, 1 from another). Unsure if this means the damage is still continuing or if those specific leaf's were just too far gone before the pH flushing.
10/06/17 Day 55: Watered all plants with plain water + calmag. Plants health seems to be ok, i still find leafs to pull off every now and again but it feels like its slowed, hopefully this is due to correcting the pH runoff. 5 days until flower! I'm hoping i dont see any fast dieing leaf's after switching to flower.

Plant #1: pH=6.4, ppm=1904
plant #2: pH=5.9/6.1, ppm=1348/1040 (didnt like that first pH readoff so i gave it a second watering)
plant #3: pH=6.43, ppm=901
plant #4: pH=6.2, ppm=1902
plant #5: pH=6.65/6.59, ppm=1667/1037 (tried bringing pH down more with 2nd watering)
10/07/17 Day 56: Pics taken. Middle of plants adjusted for light to get in.

10/08/17 Day 57: Growth continues. Some leaf's on bottom of plant are still damaged and possibly declining but the nodes around them are perfectly fine so im assuming everything is still A-OK as they continue to have the corrected pH.
10/09/17 Day 58: Defoliated plant #1 and plant #3. I chopped off a few fan leaf's both from the top of plant and middle. This was done to ensure perfect light reaching all cola's going down to bottom of plant. You can really see the light shining in perfectly from the picture of plant #3 (4th picture down)!. #1 also looks like that :D I'm happy with the results (light shining on every node pretty much). I didn't def. the middle of the other's cause i want to see the difference in comparison after a week or 2 into flowering, plus the clone/#2/#5 clearly shouldnt be messed with seeing as clone is small, #2 is clearly stunted and #5 is like 2 weeks behind all the others. On week 3 of flower ill end up defoliating again.

10/10/17 Day 59: SWITCHED TO FLOWERING 12/12 (Both bloom and veg light are on and schedule is 5pm on to 5am off) Watered all plants and defoliated a few leaf's from plant #2 (decided to open it up a little for more light despite it being a stunted plant). This watering was very annoying, i wanted to flush all plants down to nearly 0 ppm but 1 of the bastards kept going UP in ppm because of the miracle grow! I really dislike not being able to control my plants ppm's because of that miracle grow. I dont think ill be using that for the next grow unless i can find a 'feeds up to 2 months or 1 month' bag of it, thats acceptable but 6 months is far too long. I have no clue what its feeding my girls. This time around i just fed nutes to 3 plants that needed higher ppm and just watered all the others with water/calmag. calmag was also in the nutes.

Water in = ph 7.0 (for planet soil its always high so 6.0 water is used)
Plant 1: pH =6.3, ppm = 2040
Plant 2: pH =6.2/6.4/6.4, ppm =578/414/884 (this plant fed nutes)
Plant 3: pH =6.5/6.5/6.4, ppm =1125/1062/1351 (this plant fed nutes)
Plant 4: pH =6.4, ppm = 1810
Plant 5: pH =6.8/6.6, ppm =910/719 (this plant fed nutes)
Clone: pH =6.6/6.4, ppm = 1001/958

Finally blooming has started so ill be able to see within 2 weeks which ones are male vs female. I'm not going to feed the fox farms big bloom until 2 weeks in, ill continue feeding (if ppm low) the veg nutes for the stretch for next 2 weeks, then ill change to bloom nutes.
I did notice plant #5 has its bottom leaf's turning yellow. I am assuming this is due to the very high pH it was at, this plant loves to have high pH, i guess its that planet natural soil.

pics will come at next watering

10/11/17 Day 60: Growth continues.
10/12/17 Day 61: Growth continues.
10/13/17 Day 62: Moved leaf's around so light penetrates. Growth continues. Plant #5 very bottom leafs are turning yellow and tips are cruncy brown and bending downwards. Am keeping an eye on them.
10/14/17 Day 63: Watered plants (they were already drooping downwards! crazy, they seems to be needing more water sooner, it used to be every 5 days (and not droopy) now its 4 and they droopy, guess ill be watering every 3 days but im going to try again for 4 days and see if droopy)

Plant 1: pH=6.7/6.4/6.4, ppm=1309/1648/2030
Plant 2: pH=6.5, ppm=1838
Plant 3: pH=7.4/6.59 (oops, i forgot to pH this ones water), ppm=1171/1334

(6)10/15/17 Day 64: Growth continues.
(7)10/16/17 Day 65: Growth continues. 2 leaf's pulled from plant #3 (yellow and brown cruncy tips about an inch back). 2 leaf's collected from plant #5 (laying on soil already severed). Still a couple leaf's on plant #3 that are yellowish.
(8)10/17/17 Day 66: Growth continues.
(9)10/18/17 Day 67: Before 5am (day 4 exactly) the plants were starting to collapse from being too dry. It would seem less than 4 days and they need to be watered. Pulled off a lot of dead leaves from the bottom of all the plants. Still unsure if this is natural due to those leaves not getting light or if its an issue.
Plant 1: pH=6.49, ppm=1732
Plant 2: pH=6.28, ppm= 2013
Plant 3: pH=6.65, ppm=2003

Plant 5: pH=6.56, ppm=1790
Clone: pH=6.55, ppm=2010
(10)10/19/17 Day 68: Growth continues. Noticed signs of female traits from 2 plants, unsure about other 3.
(11)10/20/17 Day 69: 4 plants show signs of female traits (clearly pistols) and plant #5 im still unsure but i wanna say its female as well. Time will tell. Its now 7am and plants are looking droopy! 50 hours since last watering, dunno how they are drinking so much. Picked more dead leaves from bottom of some plants, also had more light green/yellowing leaves drooping down and pulled off with nearly no resistance, still unsure why the leaves are doing that.
Gave water with cal/mag to all plants, didnt bother getting readoff numbers, ill do that every other watering if its gonna be every 2 days at this rate. I did feed plant #5, it has 2 yellow/green leaves on bottom that are looking like they may or may not be improving since last watering. I gave it more of last waterings nutes (FF #2 (lots of nitro), we'll see if it helps! Am thinking its maybe nitro def.
(12)10/21/17 Day 70: Growth continues. Bent a couple shoots on various plants to even up the canopy.
(13)10/22/17 Day 71: Growth continues. The shoots i bent aimed straight back up (didnt bend low enough). Bent 4 shoots on plant #1 to even up the canopy. Bent 1 or 2 on plant #3 and 2 on plant #4. This should even out the canopy.
(14)10/23/17 Day 72: Growth continues. Did some bending to plant #5 to lower it for an even canopy compared to rest of plants.
(15)10/24/17 Day 73: Watered plants today. Pulled off some dead leaves on the plants very bottom.
Plant 1: pH=6.71, ppm=1132
Plant 2: pH=6.40/6.18, ppm= 1497/1889
Plant 3: pH=7.08/6.56, ppm=679/1754 (FED THIS PLANT ONLY)
Plant 4: pH=6.42, ppm=2048
Plant 5: pH=6.17, ppm=2007
Clone: pH=6.5, ppm=1969
(16)10/25/17 Day 74: Growth continues.
(17)10/26/17 Day 75: Growth continues. Pulled off 2 yellow leaves with no resistance from plant #3 (feeding made it worse?).
Added 2nd grow light into tent!
(18)10/27/17 Day 76: Watered all plants as they were starting to droop. Read yellowing pale leaves that are easily pulled off can easily be caused by successive underwatering (which has been multiple times in a row i see plants droop before watering). Plants were not fed, just staraight calmag water. Pics taken later in day after droop recover.
Plant 1: pH=6.82/6.52, ppm=927/1870
Plant 2: NOT WATERED (still wet)
Plant 3: pH=6.94/6.80/6.65, ppm=688/870/1309

(19)10/28/17 Day 77: Growth continues. Yellow leaves pulled off fromplant #3 and #5.
(20)10/29/17 Day 78: Watered plants later in evening. The smaller pots were starting to droop (plant #5) so i decided to just water them all to avoid droop and see if it helps with the yellowing (from consecutive droops?). Plain calmag ph'd water.
(21)10/30/17 Day 79: Trimmed out the bottom nodes of all the plants. Clipped a few fan leaves for open light.
(22)10/31/17 Day 80: Growth continues.
(23)11/1/17 Day 81: Watered plants as 1 was showing signs of droop. Fed all plants FF #3 (flower nute) and ph'd all water in at 6.50's range. Didn't bother getting readouts, at this point im going to slow down on super baby sitting.
(24)11/2/17 Day 82: Growth continues.
(25)11/3/17 Day 83: Raised lights from 13 1/2 ' to 15 1/2'. Growth continues. Watered half a gallon to 2 plants as they were drooping. Had to cut some slices into the tent in order to raise the lights further up as i hit my limit for heighth. Placed hooks into ceiling and connected them there while the rope/hook routed through the slices and hooked onto lights. Plenty of room now.
(26)11/4/17 Day 84: Watered 2 small plants and 1 large plant (#3, #5, clone) as #3 and 5 were starting to droop. Plain ph'd at 6.5 water. half a gallon to #3 and the remainder water to 5 and clone.
(27)11/5/17 Day 85: Watered all plants with plain ph'd 6.5 calmag water. Recorded values, everything came out good and acceptable! Next watering will be a feed.
Plant 1: pH=6.66, ppm=637
Plant 2: pH=6.36, ppm=1128
Plant 3: pH=6.74, ppm=504
Plant 4: pH=6.61, ppm=705

I feel like plant #1 is going to be my best yield-er :3 It seems to be doing quite well. It was the 'test' plant i did by defoliating more so than all the other's and thus got more light penetration.

(29)11/7/17 Day 87: Growth continues.
(30)11/8/17 Day 88: Growth continues.
(31)11/9/17 Day 89: Fed all plants FF #3 general feeding dose. Ph'd all water 6.5. Pulled off a few leaves shriveled/dead from bottom of plant.
(32)11/10/17 Day 90: Growth continues. Bottom most leaves for some plants seem to be yellowing off once again. Due to feeding or maybe too much calmag?
(33)11/11/17 Day 91: Growth continues.
(34)11/12/17 Day 92: Growth continues. Watered plants plain ph'd 6.5 water. Only half a gallon to each plant since they were drooping a lot and didnt have much time.
(35)11/13/17 Day 93: Growth continues.
(36)11/14/17 Day 94: Growth continues. Leaves still yellowish but not increasing as far as i can tell for plant 5.
(37)11/15/17 Day 95: Growth continues. Dehumidifier added and set to 35 for testing.
(38)11/16/17 Day 96: Watered plants.
(39)11/17/17 Day 97: Growth continues. Top leaves of plant #5 show purple between veins on leaves, research says this is lack of phosphorus.
(40)11/18/17 Day 98: Watered all plants - 1/2 gallon of water each since they were drooping and to set them off until monday for full water sesion. Fed FF#3 to plant #5 and clone (hopefully to help with the purple leaves).
(41)11/19/17 Day 99: Growth continues.
(42 'traditional week 6')11/20/17 Day 100: Watered all plants & got values. No nutes fed this watering. Will be feeding nutes in 2 days or less as those value show they clearly need them. I also noticed plant #3 eating off its own leaves since its lacking the nutes (300).
Plant 1: pH=6.45, ppm=455
Plant 2: pH=6.6, ppm=469
Plant 3: pH=6.72, ppm=300
Plant 4: pH=6.5, ppm=916
Plant 5: pH=6.68, ppm=630
Clone: pH=6.6, ppm=1395
(43)11/21/17 Day 101: Growth continues.
(44)11/22/17 Day 102: Fed all plants FF #1 & #3 full dose. Am watching plant #3 and 5, 3 for leaves no longer eating themselves and 5 for the weird purple leaves between veins. Hopefully issues improve.
(45)11/23/17 Day 103: Growth continues
(46)11/24/17 Day 104: Growth continues. It doesnt look like the yellowing on plant 5 is continuing so it would seem the feeding helped as well as no calmag for a while now.

I have set my date for flushing plants on day 108 (4 days from now) which will give my gorilla glue 11 days of a flush before harvest and give my pink cat 14 days of a flush before harvest, if plants are ready to harvest on the days i expect them to.
My gorilla glue is 8-9 weeks flowering time and the pink cat is 9-10 weeks. If timing goes as planned, i will be harvesting GG plants on 8 weeks 4 days and pink cat 3 days later at 9 weeks old, this all depends on how happy i am with trichomes. Now here are some pics and a video of trichomes!

(47)11/25/17 Day 105: Watered plants as they were super droopy.
(48)11/26/17 Day 106: Checked on plants roughly 23 hrs later from above and had severe yellowing of leaves from plant #5. It also had sugar leave veins browning. Unsure if this is due to it needing to be fed more, too small a pot, or from underwatering dmg. Plant #3 also has lower growth upper leaves yellowing, just not nearly as bad as #5. Watered plant #5 some more nutes to see how it reacts.
(49)11/27/17 Day 107: Growth continues.
(50)11/28/17 Day 108:STARTED FLUSH. Pink will get 14 days flush by week 9 from traditional. GG will get 11 days flush if harvest day 118. Flushed all plants to the point ppm read same or within 20 points of water in value.

10 more days until Gorilla Glue is done!
13 more days until Pink Cat is done!

Plant #5 (middle plant that is mostly yellow) doesnt look so great but maybe it will survive the 13 days it has left (assuming trich's look good on that day).

Hope all is well in your world.

How did this grow turn out?

We would love to be updated with some pictures and info.

How about posting a 420 Strain Review?

If you need any help with posting photos, please read our Photo Gallery Tutorial.

I am moving this to Abandoned Journals until we get updates.

Sending you lots of love and positive energy.

(51)11/29/17 Day 109: Decline continues.
(52)11/30/17 Day 110: Decline continues.
(53)12/01/17 Day 111: Watered plants 2am (roughly 2 1/2 days since last watered). Plants continue to eat themselves (flush), plant #5 with the most clear signs. Surprisingly it still has some green color left in its top leaves and sugar leaves are starting to decline/purple a bit. Pics taken.
(54)12/02/17 Day 112: Decline continues.
(55)12/03/17 Day 113: Harvested plant #5 in evening 7pm'ish, trimmed it, hung inside closet at 45-55% humidity. It does jump up to low 60's sometimes but not for long.
(56 'traditional week 8')12/04/17 Day 114: Checked trichomes on GG and Pink plants, none were quite ready yet. They are definitely mostly cloudy with some half/half but majority of it looks close. Not much amber trichomes. Decided to wait another few days.
(57)12/05/17 Day 115: Watered plants. Decline continues.
(58)12/06/17 Day 116: Decline continues.
(59)12/07/17 Day 117: Drying plant 5 still needs more time. Test burned a small airy nug, even with as small as it was it still didnt burn that well. Stems were bendy like rubber. This is 3 days and onwards of dry.
Checked trichomes on plants in tent, am seeing a lot of cloudy, some half/half and a bit of amber, maybe 10%. Leaving plants in a bit longer.
(60)12/08/17 Day 118: Plant 5 has been drying for a total time of 4 days and 4 hours, decided to go ahead and pull them out to clip the nugs from stem and dry. It all felt cruncy dry on outside and still a bit moist in middle, a acceptable dry period i decided. Have been jarred for almost an hour and jar humidity is at 67% and climbing slowly. After a bit, jar reached 71% humidity. Removed bud from jar and let sit out on cardboard in closet with humidistat set to 50 (sat out for 8-9 hours while i slept).
Woke up after 8-9 hours and placed bud back into jar. after an hour or 2 humidity inside jar was back up to 70%, decided to leave them out to dry more on the cardboard in closet for 8-9 hours.
Watered all plants half a gallon each in case i harvest in 2 days they will be somewhat dry by then.
(61)12/09/17 Day 119: 5:30am (8 1/2 hrs cardboard dry) placed nugs from cardboard back into jar. After an hours RH = 63%, by 3 hours in jar RH = 65. Left in jar and woke up to 69%.
(62)12/10/17 Day 120: Got back from work at 5:30am and noticed jarred nugs were 71% RH, i decided to leave them out for 7 hours to dry more on the cardboard rather than just an hour burp. Placed buds back into jar at 12:20 pm, 7 hours later.
12:30pm RH=57%
1:30pm RH=60%
2:30pm RH=62%
Woke up 10 hours later and humidity = 65 - 66%
(63 'traditional week 9')12/11/17 Day 121: Harvested Plant #2 and plant #3. Pictures taken. Plant #2 which was the stunted one has quite airy/bally buds that im not very happy with but we will see how it goes! Trimmed both plants and hung plant #3 in closet, plant #2 is in a drying net.
12/12/17 Day 122: Harvested plant #1 and #4 (my 2 biggest plants). Placed buds into drying net, small fan in closet pointed slightly downwards (to avoid hitting bottom of net) and humidity set at 55%.

Dried bud for 3 days and placed into jars. RH kept reaching back up to 71%, 72% another time and others even hit 74%. Looks like i should dry for 4 days minimum if its normal (dense) bud, but if airy bud like plant #2 GG, because it was such airy bud it dried out too much in 3 and a half days. Since ive got it all jarred up already, i just open up lids for 8 hrs, i also give each jar a shake/turn to help seperate clingers.
i took all the bud from plant #4 (had 74% rh in jar) that is jarred and placed it back onto the drying rack (for 8 hrs just like the opened jars with bud).

After much reading i finally came up with a cureing routine that i think is prety solid. I'll know for sure in the next grow!

Here are the pics!
