looks super nice. gotta love how a scrog makes use of available space. are you running any preventative pest management @Wastei ?

Wastei I have a question I have been trying to understand what EC and ppm means to better help me follow your journal. What scale do you use 500 or 700 if that makes sense.

i believe 500 scale is used more in the US. 700 scale is europe / australia. ec is actually universal and generally more precise.

your probe measures ec and uses an algorithm to convert. even if it only returns one type of value.

Citric acid foliar, die thrips die!

First picture is right after spray and the other two hours after. I just increased input to 800ppm / 1.6 EC. Last runoff came out at 700ppm / 1.4 EC and runoff was rapidly decreasing at 500ppm / 1.0 EC.

Second runoff reading:
800ppm / 1.6 EC in, 800ppm / 1.6 EC out.

pH 5.5 in pH 6.4 out.

Cheers!
You got them growing through. Look good. :circle-of-love:

Thanks! Read my last post to answer your question. I do citric acid sprays regularly in veg, 1.3-1.5g per liter of water or 1tsp per gallon with polysorbate20 . I've never come across anyone using the 0.7 scale for ppm.

Saved for the future! Took some cuttings from the absolute lowest shoots not receiving any light. Some high P food (0.5 EC) and a few drops of bleach in a gallon DWC tote. Taking runoff reading in 1.5 hours.

Climbed like a ninja and secured the fans to the top of the tent, better air flow and it takes the weight off the light fxture. Still got a lot of headroom for the light to be raised. Took a picture while I was up there! Runoff reading in 30 min!

Cheers!

Let go off me she said! Lol! Breaking the thread, put some gaffa tape around it for now. I keep on tucking away tops, soon I won't be able to do it anymore. Increased the light to 400w, see how she handles it.

Third runoff reading:
800ppm / 1.6 EC in, 950ppm / 1.9 EC out.

pH 5.5 in, pH 6.35 out.

IMG_20230728_160145259.jpg

800ppm / 1.6 EC in, 1000ppm / 2.0 EC out.

pH 5.6 in, pH 6.45 out.

She's healthy and fast to react to the changes and decreased light exposure. It's only been three days and she's already started to stretch lightly and increased rate of growth. I'll increase the light further (~500w) in two days to let her adjust to extra 100w already given to her. Running 400w currently.

Cheers!

That is a full tent and looks great. :thumb:

Thanks Keith! She's the only one I'm keeping for the future. I'm gonna have some hiatus from flowering after next harvest but I will keep her alive for the future.

Maybe to many but I can always give some away!

Looking great bro numbers are in the zone as always 👌 you have to get a side extension if she carries on 🤣 never done a scrog but their definitely effective!

She's officially in flower and no more tucking since the net is full.

Third runoff reading in 2 h 20 minutes. I will update the post then. Lowered input yesterday to 650ppm / 1.3 EC since EC was raising a little to high in the runoff.

EDIT:

Thanks bud! It' takes a lot of pinching and supercropping to get the same structure without the scrog net. I like big squares so I can move them around easier. Going to run two nets this time around. Next up is raising the light and increasing the wattage.

Cuttings are on eazy mode in the cloner under 3w LED:

It's definitely something I'm going to try I bought a net and the squares was massive! So I left it out. I like your net it looks sturdy 👌 I'm attempting RDWC next in my 3x3 if I can't get 4 plants in with my equipment then ill will scrog one or two plant like yours 🤞

Can I ask what you use the bleach for? CL🍀

I use it as a sterilizing agent to keep bad bacteria cultures at bay. You only need very small amount, maximum dosage in water cultures is 5ppm which is still very low. The fungal network can handle the concentration well while the bad bacteria really struggle in even undetectable amounts of residual chlorine by chlorine strips. Chlorine is a tertiary nutrient in Cannabis which mean the plants make use of the added Chlorine to the nutrient mix.

" Its functions in plant growth and development include osmotic and stomatal regulation, evolution of oxygen in photosynthesis, and disease resistance and tolerance "

Nice! I've probably have more RDWC runs than anything else under my belt. Ran it for 10 years straight. Still have the 4 site system but it's in grave need of repairs.

RDWC systems are optimal with cold floors and in basements. Are you planning on running some root rot preventative measures with oxidizer or are you going the chiller and bacteria route?

You're better of keeping room temps slightly lower with water cultures. You don't need more than 24C / 75F in flower and it will help you keep the root zone and nutrient solution stable.

It's easy to keep a perpetual cycle with scrog nets. When you harvest you've already vegged for 2.5 months and you only need a week for the plant to settle in the new environment before you can start next cycle.

I've grown in small shower rooms before like you do and I know veg space is a problem. You can always take a clone in mid flower from the lowers and reverse it back before you start next cycle. They root and grow really fast in veg in hydro.
