First Grow - 400W Mars II LED

- Day 85 / Day 45 of Flowering -

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words! Appreciate the love and all the help everyone has given me to have such a first successful grow. So moving right along, I was able to pick up my new USB microscope to shoot some trichome pics for you all. Mapilot, after messing around trying to get this son of a bitch to focus for 20 mins, I finally figured everything out. It may not take the greatest quality pics, but it does exactly what is needed; checking trichs for harvest! I'd recommend getting one if you have the $40 to blow. Definitely beats the hell out of this shitty loupe that strains my eyes every time I look through it. Jake, I've heard your requests for some porn so here you go man! Please keep the Kleenex close LOL. Looks like they're almost ready to be chopped. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks for the update! The pics look great! I will definately buy one of those now! I know what you mean about the loupes, they are a pain in the arse to hold and see things.

Maybe it's just me but those trichs still look a little on the clear side shouldn't they be at least a little cloudy to a little milky in colour with just a few amber coloured ones. My thoughts not the law.

Seriously worth the $40 man. At first, I was getting pissed, then I smoked a bowl and figured it out in 5 mins. Definitely beats any of those cheap loupes out there. Plus, it's awesome to see bud close ups on such a big screen :)

I agree. Most of them do look pretty clear, but I did notice how some of them (especially my smallest plant) has such a high number of amber-colored heads. I'm thinking I may give them another 7-10 days on the same light schedule (10/14) before I harvest.

I check my deck plants daily at this stage just waiting for the fine balance between milky and amber and at the same time watching closely for the infamous Mold demon.

- Day 90 / Day 50 of Flowering -

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well and killing it with their grows! Sorry I've been off the map for a bit; dealing with all the other beautiful things in life like searching for a new car by force, waiting in line to hang yourself at the DMV...you know, the usual shit. :grinjoint: Anyway, I have some good and bad news; bad news I had to chop one of the ladies because I think she was severely affected from my massive defoliation session (next time, I'll go slow instead of doing it all at once) and started to notice one of my smaller branches moist and limp giving me a good indication that mold was about to attack. It may not be the best smoke, but hopefully I'll be able to get some buzz out of it. It's currently hanging in my closet as we speak.

Onto the good news; looks like the other two are ready to be chopped! I'm going to check them over the course of the next few days under the lights then go 24-48 hours of complete darkness, planning on chopping this weekend, if they're ready. I'm noticing the leaves are starting to turn so I may want the plants to bulk up a bit more. I've added a small dehumidifier into my tent that's been keeping the humidity in the mid to low 30%s which I've read to help boost resin and trichome production. So far, they look frosty! I'll be sure to get some close ups of the trichomes posted up on here within the next few days so you can take a look at where they're at! Here's how they look as of 10 mins ago. Can't wait!
