Graytail's Cupwinners in High Brix Soil - 4x4 - 600W HPS - Perpetual

That's the way to do it! Resinous, healthy buds.....happy green leaves.....dang! :goodjob:

What's really rewarding is that each grow is still getting better, from OC+, to 6-5-3, then first run highbrix, second run highbrix ...
I just had a couple hits of the JD3 and it's more aromatic and stronger than the first run, and the buzz is ... friendlier, warmer - hard to describe.

Great Photo Shoot & Update Gray! One of the best I've seen & READ here on 420.

Heheh, thanks Reg!

thanks for the link to the read!:Namaste:

your jungle looks simply amazing!!

thanks for sharing the porn:thanks::circle-of-love:

Intriguing stuff, no? Plants have sentry behavior, just like mammals. And I appreciate the kind words! Yours will look the same or better, soon enough. This is very rewarding soil to work with.

I always love your photo updates Graytail, it's like going on a ganja safari every time! :circle-of-love:

Cool article too. That would be pretty cool to tell our plants there are bugs coming during flower to get that extra resin production.

Ya mon, I and I be rockin' the casbah here!

Lately, I've been wondering if I really need to be running my exhaust fan 24 hours a day. In the warmer months when I started, it was necessary for cooling the room at night, but now it's heated at night and I have two circulating fans anyway. The article made me wonder if it might not be beneficial to let the room "steep" during the night. I vaguely remember that plants outgas differently in the dark hours, more carbon dioxide? So there are plusses to halting air exchange at night. This article gives another upside - the plants would be able to communicate better without the air exchange.

Anyone know the pros and cons?

Damn Graytail. You have your shit together. Awesome man. That Panama I might have to put on my list lol. I really want to see the Tangerine Dream. I want to hear your take on her. She is acting the same for you as for me, stretching like hell. Good stuff man.

Hey, another Panama fan! There's a current thread online with some good background on the strain. I really like it so far.

LOL, I never saw that wild stretch in other Tangerine Dream grows - guess I just overlooked it. I saw it give Backpacker a run, but he managed it with some supercropping. I'm grateful I dumped 'er into 12/12 at such a short height! I'm gonna do my best to fatten up whatever she makes.

Thanks for the compliments, folks!

And here's a lil sumpin sumpin I got from my Wild Thai:

Update time:

There's quite a bit to report this week. JD3 started making nanners for some reason, so I chopped her. I wanted to go another week with that one, but the trichs were turning cloudy anyway. JD has never produced nanners before - not sure what happened. There was the overfeeding issue, but that doesn't seem like enough stress, and she certainly wasn't overdue. The good news is yield. I think this will be the biggest yet - there were a LOT of fat tops - I'll have the final weight in a couple days.

I've been sampling White Panther and this is a good one, two thumbs up. The stone and the smell are ringing strong bells in my memory - I think this may be one of the old classic buzzes, like Jack Herrer. I haven't tried Jack yet, but I read somewhere that they're similar. I think some of my old Columbian phenos were like this. The leaves bruise with a strong lemon mint odor and the buds add some diesel and a hint of cat piss (first time I've smelled that from pot) when you crush them. Exhale is a grapefruity Fresca taste. The stone is immediate and progressive - kinda sweeps over you. Each hit rises to another plateau, for a nice bright energetic high - not as chatty as Indian Skunk, but a lot stronger. This one has a kick to it - good potency. I haven't cut enough to find the ceiling yet. She's starting to really fatten up now, with two weeks to go. Those nugs are dense - I'm expecting a good yield.

Panama contiunes to impress me. It's been producing pistils for only 26 days in these pics, with over 40 days to go. The leaf to bud ratio is higher than the hybrids, but the trich production is startling!

And speaking of startling ...! This Wild Thailand is simply amazing! Brix is down right now - too much nitrogen from the Energy overdose - but she's recovering fast. She still has 6 weeks to get her brix straightened out.

I'm not sure how well Tangerine Dream is doing. She's done a pretty good job with pistil set on six strong branches and she looks healthy enough, but her brix has been dropping steadily for 3 weeks. We'll see. If I can get her properly hooked up soon, she has potential to be a good one.

This Utopia Haze has a 3-week window to impress me. I'm going to have an overcrowded flower room at that time and she may get her ass culled. At least she finally set pistils this week.

SLH Reveg hit the flower room this week at 13 inches with 20+ tops. I'm going to enjoy watching this one. I haven't brought a reveg to flower a second time, and I'm curious to see what happens. These tops are really skinny, so it's hard to believe they'll produce heavy nugs, but it'll depend a lot on what happens this next week or two. They'll either thicken up and stretch or ... not. It's encouraging that it goes into flower with brix at 14/15, my highest reading yet for a vegging plant at flip.

And ahem, WP1, the White Panther clone, read 16/18 brix yesterday. Apparently, WP likes Energy just fine, once she recovers. She was 14/14 last week. She gets flipped next week along with JD4.

I'm not terribly confidant of this JD. It's old, with purple stems, but decent new growth. I'm already tonned up with Jamaican Dream anyway, and I think JD3 is going to be hard to beat, so I'm just growing this one to keep the pheno going, I guess. I planned to take cuts, but this has been my favorite strain, so it's nice to have one in the room all the time.

The seedlings are up and looking vigorous except for SAGE. The root came out of the soil vertically, and I had to fiddle with it a bit. It shed its shell and membrane, but the cotyledons are stalled for now. It may not make it.

And a fine day to you as well, sir!

LOL, I just had to post these pics. I keep staring at this plant. It just doesn't seem ... normal ... only started making pistils 29 days ago. Sheesh.

DSCN29185.JPG

DSCN29186.JPG

It supposedly has another 6 weeks to go. :thedoubletake:

This is new for me. Wow. I was messing with it, spreading the thick fat buds out from the main stalk to get them some air and light, and the thing is a sticky mess already! And ... it smells like a Thai. :cheesygrinsmiley: Who knows, but what a beauty!

Way better than my first couple of attempts @ organics! Good job! I didn't do enough research on the subject; the 10-10-2.5 I used pretty much killed the entire underground biosphere I tried to create, so there's plenty of minerals and no critters to turn them into useable food now. Only a few weeks left too oh well it'll smoke..... :(

I'm barely catching a clue about how the biota work, but you sure can tell when they're not workin'! The 6-5-3 grow I ran was ok, but it was ... blind. I could never tell if anything was really happening or not - it's tricky. With the right soil, everything seems to hum right along. I think you have to get very familiar with teas if you're going to make your own mineralized soil.

looking sticky icky damn bro high brix looks nice I like what I have seen of the people who use it.

It sure gives a guy a head start ... !

looking good Graytail im subbed:)

Welcome, thanks! I'm gettin' better at this ...

Jesus have a little frost on those flocked trees lol!!!!!! Nice work!!!!!!!!

Heheh, and who doesn't like frost?

Yeah, those look pretty crazy Gray. Nice!

Thanks, man, this has been an exciting run. Things are getting nicely hooked up!

... New pics coming soon

For all those who know me know I'm still Broke Ass Reg & broke as ever!

Ok, well it's been another week and I'm really loving the way the room looks. I finally got past my shortage of vegging plants, and now have 8 girls in the flower room - kinda tight, but White Panther will be done next week, and everything sorta nests together nicely anyway.

White Panther got her Cat drench 11 days ago and shows the signs - calyxes getting fat, colas swelling ... Tomorrow she'll get a shot of Energy and that should last her until harvest. I really like this winning strain.

The seedlings are doing great except for SAGE. I thought all the membrane was off, but after watching it do nothing for a week, with the catyledons stuck together, I got out the loupe and discovered a ring of dried membrane holding it closed. I pulled it off and they sprang open, but there may not be enough left now to get the first set of leaves going. We'll see - kinda fun to observe!

Probably not as big as it seems. The entire plant is 20.5 inches tall, so the cola is maybe 5" and 2" thick.

She sticky though ... :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanks for the reps!
