ItsNatural's 1st Grow - Mars LED 192x5 Reflector - Mars 3x3x6 Tent

Thanks ItsNatural, I have the 96x5w Reflector series and its strange you haven't heard back from them yet. I received my light fairly quickly from them, though I did discover a broken cooling fan. I emailed them the day I got the light, received a reply same day and had a new fan within a week. Also take into account that the Chinese New Year is on the 8th, but they won't return to work until after the 13th.

Well mine came with several lights already out. Thats with both grow and bloom on. Among other things. Im just hoping everything is going to be alright. I may get another light somewhere to make up for it. I have a couple other problems with my stuff but will continue to wait a little longer before I go into depth with a review of any kind.

3 WEEKS FROM SEED
well time for another update. I Fed the ladies today. Right before lights out. The nutes had been bubbling for about 40 hours or so. Im not sure about this so if anyone know please tell me. But I checked on things last night, and the nutes looked great. Nice foam on top. I pointed the heater toward the bucket to warm it up just a little as it was a bit chili. Maybe in the 50s or something. I thought about using it then. When it was nice and foamy. But wanted to give the girls another 12 hours or so to dry up before feeding. I also wanted to do it right before lights out. But This morning it wasnt as foamy. It was warm, say 70s or so maybe 80s. Im just wondering if its better to use when foamy? And I wonder how much of a difference it makes to let it warm to room temp or so. I think next time I will only bubble for 24 hrs. Thats seems to be when its nice and foamy. Also I need a new airstone as the one I got only spits air halfway thru the stone. I am also going to get a bigger air pump. Mine is currently good for up to 10 gal. I think Im going to get the one for 100 gal.
Anyway, I was trying to pin down a big ass fan leaf down to allow more light to some tops that were trying to grow, And ripped it partly from the base of the plant. I was hoping it would heal but I came out this morning and can clearly tell it was dying so I cut it off from the plant. I hated the whole thing, but didnt want to leave a dying leaf hanging around. I hope it dont affect the girl to bad. I should prolly just leave the girls alone and let them do their thing. But it was REALLY in the way. blocking very important growth.
Well other than that nothing new. Temps are pretty good right now

Pretty sure its heat stress. Temps are fine, even low in fact. So I think my light may be too close. I raised about 4 inches. Its now at 30 inches from canopy. It was about 26. I prolly should raise it even higher and may do so tomorrow. Hopefully this will take care of the problem.
Until next time
Happy growing.

Hello everyone. Nothing Major to update. Current Temp 78F Current RH 55. I raised the light to 32". I may raise it again. I think I will raise it to 36". The girls are coming along nicely. Looking really bushy so far. Here are some Pics for you guys.

Well thats it for now. I do believe though that Instead of going with a feed water feed, Because I am growing organic, And from the best I could understand, I am not feeding the plants directly, I am feeding the soil, which feeds the plant. So because of that I am going to feed every time. Until the last week I will give only water for a flush. Well until next time 420
Happy Growings..

In the early veg stage and into the stretch of pre flowers I had my dual 48x5w reflectors at 24 " from canopy level. Noticed similar symptoms, then once I raised it to 32-36" things went fine for tacoing from light/heat stress. LEDs are strong... Once you get into flower though I've got my lights as close as 12" with no major effects on the foliage or pistils. I'll keep it at 18 " until the buds stop producing pistils then for deeper penetration I individually raise the plants pots as I see fit.

Good call on raising the lights, is what I'm saying... You can probably lower a couple inches every week until flower (forgot if these are autos) anyways you get what I'm saying.

Cheers

THINKING OUT LOUD!!
I really didnt want to LST this way now that I remember. LOL I wanted to top, wait until the new growth grows up and then start from there. I hope I havent messed things up too much. If anyone has any thoughts I would love to here them. Im afraid I have it too thick in the middle of a couple of them and I may have to start worrying about mold. Im hoping as they grow upward a little, It will spread out a little. Then I can put my screen down and really have it spread.

UPDATE
I did some LST last night. Everything went pretty smooth. I wish I had a way of adjusting my camera phone (galaxy 4) to where it took regular pictures. Its hard to really see whats going on and I dont want to keep shutting the light off to take pictures. I want as less stress as possible. I also raised the lights the night before to 34" and it seem to take care of the taco leafs. So far I just have the grow part of the light on. Anyone have any ideas on when I should switch the bloom on. I know common sense says when I switch to flower but Iv read where people turn it on while still in veg. Any thought? Aside from that, no big news. I checked on them this morning and they have already recovered from the LST. I feel I may have made it hard on myself by starting with bending the whole plant over. I plan to use my original idea ( which for some reason got lost in my head for a sec) on the runt. As it hasnt had any form of LST dont yet. Just topped. I am waiting for the 2 top colas to grow tall enough I can pull them down, and start from there. That way i am a little more even around my pot. Right now everything was pulled to one side of the pot so when I go to lst branches, they can really only go to the side and back. Where as if I keep the plant center, I have 360 degrees I can pull the limbs down to. Here are some pics. Sorry for all the lighting.

Happy Growing

Wow, Im checking out the pictures and they are awful. I am very sorry. I really wanted to show the LST. I spent over an hour last night doing it. But you cant really see much in these pictures. I think from now On I will try to turn the light off temporarily to take the pictures. What do you all think. Am I playing with fire by doing that. Would I be stressing the girls to much, causing hermies?

Use the bloom switch anytime. I've used both since the beginning, a full spectrum is always better than partial. For this reason I think that switch Is useless unless you're trying to conserve electricity. If costs are not an issue, use both. ..and keep the 34"distance for now.

The Light is pretty intense for most phone cameras. I think if you time it and take pictures when your lights turn off you'll be fine. Are you running the lights on 24 hrs?

Some healthy looking plants there

Hello HiddenGrow. Thank you for stopping by. I am running 18/6 on the lights. 34" above.

Yea thats what I was thinking. I think I will switch the bloom on after this next feeding.

UPDATE!!!
I mixed my next batch of nutes for next feeding. Mixing went like this.
4Gallons water. mix is per gal

1 1/2 tsp GROW
1 tsp CATALYST
1/2 tsp HI-BRIX
1/2 tsp CAL MAG
1/4 tsp MICROBLAST
1/4 tsp BIG BLOOMIN GUANO
Each mixed in its own Gal Milk jug, then poured in a 5 Gallon bucket. 10 Gal air pump with an air stone inside the bucket aerating/bubbling the mix. I will let this mix bubble for 24 hours this time. So I will feed the ladies morro right before lights out.

I did a little more LST last night with LS2 and MM2. Not much just a little touch up. Getting branches further down than I wanted to try the first time, and also, all had already turned back up, giving me a better bite to tie down. This morning both have recovered completely and ALL girls are looking good. LS2 grew the most. She is almost ready for the screen. I plan on making my screen 15" tall. My pots are 10" high. So I think thats low enough. I could prolly go 14" with it but I want them to have a little room to grow vertically after the LST. So I need to get my stuff THIS WEEK!! I know I keep saying it. But truth is I have a pretty severe anxiety and Social Disorder. I feel like Im about to have a hear attack just thinking about having to go into the hardware store. AHHH I dont even want to think about it right now. Its Sunday and they closed so I can relax for the day.
Anyway, as always. Please let me know what you think. About my SCROGGIN plans and everything else you see here. I am very torn on how much GROW I should be giving my girls. The bottle says TBSP and the 3 little birds says TBSP, but the research I was initially going to go by was using TSP. Any thoughts on that? RESEARCH FOUND HERE--- A top nutrient study - Which is the best? Produces most?

Well thats it for now. Here are some pics from last night.

UPDATE!!!

Fed the ladies today right before lights out. Everything seem to go pretty smooth. They are really starting to grow. Everything looks pretty healthy from what I can tell. I used the Nutes this time after only 24 hours of bubbling. It was really foamy. Other than the feeding, there really isnt anything else. Here are some pics I took while they were out of their tent.

Here is the bucket of Nutes.

Hello everyone. Not a whole lot to update. I did go and get some of the parts for my screen. But believe it or not. My local hardware store does not have the fittings I need. They dont have a 90 with a side outlet. They didnt seem to even know what I was talking about. SO I go the pipe and the caps for the legs. I then went back to the car and googled the part. They had me thinking I was crazy. But I quickly found them at lowes. My town doesnt have a lowes. Its over in the next town. Which is about 40 mins away. I like I have said previously in this journal. I dont like going into stores. So I just bought the 90 with side outlet and twine online. I am currently waiting for it to arrive. LOL Gotta love this day and age where you dont have to leave the house to go shopping. Anyway. I am also waiting on a syphon pump I ordered from amazon. It is meant to be useds to syphon oil gas or water from small engines like lawnmowers. I am going to use it to feed my plants, and also suck away the run off. I also am waiting in the same delivery a bigger air pump and a different airstone. My current air stone I bought from amazon only bubbles thru half the stone. Leaving the other half not doing anything. I thought at first it may be my pump was too small but after reading reviews. Other people have had the same problem. But just in case I bought a bigger pump. I am going from a 10 gal to a 100 gal pump. To put plenty of oxygen in the mix. If its too big i will just keep using the 10.
By the way, In case anyone was ever wondering. I have YET TO HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PH LEVELS. I bought some ph up and down. But I am going to trust all the research Iv done that says its not an issue using Earth Juice. Basically its this
there should be no reason to up the PH at all because organics feed the microbes, and the microbes than feed the plant, and between that process the PH difference is dealt with. Hopefully this is the case. Here are some pics from yesterday. Ill do another big update when I mix my nutes. Which may be tomorrow.

Not sure if I posted up any pics in my gallery of just my screen but I've used two T's in all four corners. It allows for the screen to be adjustable up and down as well as not having to hunt down those pesky 90's. Just a thought, progress is looking good :)

Im actually just noticing it now that you say something about it. LOL But I actually thought about that set up after I left the store. But I wasnt going back in there lol. I freaked out after I seen they didnt have it and just kinda shut down. Was ready to leave immediately. But I already have them ordered now. Just waiting on them. I couldnt have just drove the 40 45 mins to lowes but if its going to cost me 5 or 10 dollars for gas anyway then I might as well pay the 6 dollars shipping and never have to leave my house. :)
As far as the moving up and down. I figure I would get a connector with a little piece of pvc to add height if I need to. I dont plan on gluing it together anyway. So I can get a few different size legs or something. But in all honesty, I dont plan on raising or lowering it. But then again I dont "plan" on alot of things :) But hopefully I will set it about 5 inches from the top of my pots. And keep tucking until after the stretch is done. But having never done this, Im not sure how far I should let it get before I make the switch. live and learn I guess. I figure on 4 weeks of veg. And The way I understand things, veg time starts about 2 weeks after it breaks ground. 2 weeks for seedling stage. 4 weeks veg, 8-9 weeks flower. I am currently 4 and a half weeks from seed. I put that in bold by the way just for the people that want to skim thru and see the highlights. Anyway so by that logic I am 2 and a half weeks into veg. But I will need to put the screen down and spread the plants out, to see how much time I have left. Any thoughts Id love to hear them. Until next time
Happy Growings

hope I am not too late for the show  subbed and watching

your plants are looking nice a bushy and I like the pipe cleaners and binder clips I use the same thing

Very possible your first journal was the one that gave me the idea. Cant remember for sure, as Iv seen a couple of people do it. But pretty sure yours was one. And for that my friend, I thank you. Because in the beggining I had pictured twine and some weights or something. Man how my plans have changed. :) For the better I believe. Thanks for subbing in and feel free to speak you mind and point out any amateurish mistakes I may be making. I can take it. LOL
I dont expect this to be the best grow of all times, I dont expect to get a pound out of this grow. As this is my first indoor grow. BUT I do expect and hope for better than beginner level to average grow. Thats my goal anyway. I know a few people that grow outdoors. Almost none of which really put any research into it. Using Miracle Grow thru out the entire grow. Basically just topping the plant and letting it go. My point is I expect my hard work, research, and interaction with you good people, to produce a good or at least decent grow. But having said that, some things can only be learned by doing. Like how long to veg under the screen before the flip. I will just have to have the experience of letting the screen get to full and or too empty to really get a sense of it. IDK Im sorry Im rambling.

ANYWAY UPDATE!!
32 DAYS FROM SEED 18 DAYS IN VEG
CURRENT TEMP 82
CURRENT RH 49
I know its on the low side but the door to the actual room is not a door but 2 covers. 1 on the inside 1 on the out. And for some reason. Recently water is forming between those covers on the inside of the covers. I think it may be where I have turned down the fan in the tent. Im not sure but It goes away when I turn my humidifier off. But that brings down the RH of the room and tent. I cant have that water forming there of course because it the covers will start to mold and mildew. I am not sure how bad that will be to my plants but I dont want to find out. SO!! As of right now I have the humidifier off.

I mixed my nutes today and have it bubbling. Mix goes as follows---

2tsp GROW
1tsp CATALYST
1tsp HI-BRIX
1/2tsp MICROBLAST
1/2tsp CAL MAG
1/2tsp BIG BLOOMIN GUANO
all per Gallon / 4 Gallons total

Other than that Im just waiting on supplies to arrive. Till they do :peacetwo:
