Awesome work man that harvest is looking proper fantastic and you should give yourself a pat on the back while you're coughing from smoking some amazing buds

Thanks Spart! Yeah, they are super potent. I smoked the sissor hash for the Norther Lights 1 and it was a really, really intense high. I can't wait to try them after they cure for a bit.

One reason to leave the leaves on would be to slow down the drying process. That is my main reason for trying it myself. It is generally hot in my dry room.

Easier would be nice

Well the humidity in my dry space stays about 50% to 52% RH. I think that is pretty good. I did do as you suggested for the Short Rider and the mutant NL though. So it will be cool to see how it turns out.

Northern Lights #1 Final Weight

Well ladies and gents, the final weight is in on the Northern Lights #1.

I jarred all the smaller branches yesterday and after separating most of the stems from the buds the weight was 40.04 grams!
Today, I jarred all the main colas. After taking off most the stems, we ended up with 43.71 grams!

Total weight of Northern Lights #1: 83.75 grams or 2.95 ounces

I am super stoked about that number. For my first grow things couldn't have gone any better.

I also harvested Short Rider and Northern Lights #2 last night. I believe Short Rider is going to top that number. The buds on her are so dense and there were so many of them. I will upload a few shots of them in a bit.

Day 78 Short Rider - Day 77 Northern Lights #2 - Harvest
Hello 420 family, harvest picture time!

I Short Rider the chop yesterday night and Northern Lights #2 the chop this morning. Short Rider is spectacular looking. The buds are so dense on her that I am sure she will produce quite a bit more weight than NL #1. NL #2 on the other hand looks thin and wispy, the same way she has the whole flower period. The smoke will be great on her but still not that happy with the results. If that ever happens again in the future, I will probably just pull the plant. Not worth nutes and time.

I have also included some pictures of the 83 grams worth of NL #1. Looks like I could have used some bigger jars. When I bought those I didn't expect my first grow to pull that much weight. I also didn't realize how much a jar would hold. In the future I will probably get some bigger jars.

I let the smaller buds sit for a day in the jars and today I added Boveda 62 pack to those two jars. I pulled the main colas today and put them in jars and similarly will leave them for a day and then add the Boveda 62's.

How long did the NL #1 hang before you jarred? You don't want the RH to be to high in the jar, 70%+ could cause mold.

5 days on the smaller stemmed buds and 6 days on the main colas. After I let the smaller ones sit for one night I added the Boveda 62 2 way humidity packs as well. I will be adding them to the main cola jars today also.

When I squeeze the smaller buds last night, they would squish, then return to shape, so I'm pretty sure they should be okay. What do you think?

I am not to sure about the squishy part. But 5 to 6 days sounds pretty good. They should be slightly dry feeling on the outside of the buds. Stems should be dry to almost cracking.

Honestly curing is my weakest point. I have a hard time controlling temps. I usually get them to dry.

Yeah I need to get me one of those little hygrometers. The ones I have will not fit in any of the jars. I would say at this point that is probably my weak point as well. I did go with the Boveda packs so I'm sure at least the humidity will stay pretty constant at 62%. Doesn't seem like my packs are swelling that much so I just might have timed it about right.

Northern Lights #2 Final Weight

Hello 420 family, we have the final numbers for our 2nd Northern Lights.

It actually looks like this is going to the breadwinner as far as total weight. While her buds were thin and wispy, there were just so many of them she actually produced quite a bit. I ended up having to get some really big jars because I thought it might be silly having 6 or 7 smaller jars laying around. I also didn't want to use that many boveda packs either. So here we are!

Total weight Northern Lights #2: 142.04 grams or 5.01 ounces.

Pretty crazy to me, I didn't see that coming. Well here is a picture of her in her curing jars. Happy growing all!

Final Weight

Hey there 420 family, it is a good day indeed. The final weights for all my girls are in and it is time to share the final numbers with you. We will start with Short Rider since I haven't given those numbers yet and then a recap of the other two. Then what we all are waiting for a little bud porn!

Short Rider: 110.84 grams or 3.909 ounces.
Northern Lights #1: 83.75 grams or 2.95 ounces.
Northern Lights #2: 142.04 grams or 5.01 ounces.

Total Final Weight: 336.63 grams or 11.87 ounces.

I am super stoked about that number. That should last me a while! I have also starting a Hi-Brix grow and will be making a journal for that as well shortly so stay tuned for the link to that.
