Planted: May 17th 2016 - Soil had been draining the previous 24 hours after a good pre planting soak.
Sprout: May 24th 2016 - I learnt too late it was a two year old seed and made the mistake of not soaking it before planting it so it took a whole week to show above soil.
A little detail
Seedling problems: When it finally sprouted seed shell was still attached. Used a water drop to soften it. Didn't detach after 1 week so i had to manually remove it with tweezers in two separate operations.
When I finally removed it first to leaves where encapsulated inside, and cotyledons where damaged. One was almost non existent. This happened on May 28th.
Above after first surgery, below after second surgery
Here you can see a detail of the cotyledon damage
Lola struggled for almost a week:
In June 3rd new growth appear and she started to pick up a pace. She's not going to get too big after all the problems but at least she's a fighter.
Yesterday (June 5th) I noticed it was getting bigger and better but some curling on the edges of the leaves alerted me of a possible heat problem (25º Celsius but probably lights were too close). I raised the lights and now they are further from the plant.
Here's the heat problem I just told you about:
I'll keep posting daily updates and see how it goes from here.
Any advice is welcome. Remember I'm a non native English speaker and a rookie grower so bare with my lack of experience. I'm just happy I saved Lola and get to see her grow. I'm actually proud about it.
