1st Grow - 2 x Vision Northern Lights Auto/Fem - Coco - 2 x Mars Hydro 300W LEDs

Don't forget to check out your local thrift stores for deals on equipment. I picked this baby up for 2 bucks! It even has a variable heat controller!

A few pics from yesterday. I'll take some under natural light when I get ready to harvest, my love, NL#3, later this week? over the weekend? I'm dragging my feet, I know, but she seems like she wants to go longer.. and if that's the case, she shall go longer. ;)

NL#1 (105 days from seed) on left, NL#3 (99 days from seed) on right, NL#4 (24 days from seed) under the cfl

NL#3 being flushed, turning yellow, and still building buds...

NL#1 is getting her bulk on... my earlier, non-committal prediction, seems to be coming true... she's becoming that beast.

this is an excellent grow-harvest...just 2 plants and u have so many NL buds...i am jealous....lol...keep doig great work !!!!!:thanks::thanks::thumb:

FYI...I've done the 48 hour dark period with no noticeable improvement in quality so I no longer do it. I do chop and hang the plant in the dark to dry, I just don't do the 48 hours of dark BEFORE chopping.

what is the purpose of keep it in dark before harvest?what happened-change to the plant if u do this..i never figure ot what happened to the plant if u keep it in dark for 48-72 hours...
someone to explain me?thank u
god job here:thumb:

Thank you, solar! From what I have read about the darkness period, it gives a chance for the plant to reduce chlorophyll build-up and increases trichome production. Seems to be a lot of mixed reviews, but nothing negative seems to come from it. More like people notice that it helps or they don't.

Alright, she went into the dark closet about 30 minutes ago. My cousin is coming to visit for a few days and plans to take part in the harvesting process with me.

Here's NL#3 just before closet/darkness time...

Hey Juan. Just found your journal(s) now. I kind of avoid finding new journals, can barely keep up with my own these days, lol.
Looks great. :thumb: I like how you've let the buds mature nicely. Most people harvest a little too early for my preference. Interesting how that one bud looks so different from the rest hey?
The light supposedly constantly degrades thc in the resin glands, even as it helps grow it. So one reason for harvesting right after a dark period is to try and catch the plants when thc levels are on the higher end of the cycle (?). Or at least that's one theory I've heard.
I've never heard any evidence that the 24 hour thing makes any real difference.

Hey Weasel, thanks for dropping in! I definitely understand about not going out looking for more journals, so I appreciate your effort very much. There's just so much here and not enough time to keep up with it all.

This NL#3 could probably go a while longer still. The trics are probably about 75% cloudy and 25% clear with very few ambers. I plan to wait it out longer on NL#1 if I can.

If you are referring to the main cola looking different it probably has something to do with it getting beat on by the light. Since it's so much taller than the surrounding colas, it probably got more than its fair share and seems to have maybe even hermied in places. I think it's got fox tails too, which, from what I've been learning is possibly another hermie characteristic.

I don't think foxtails are a hermie thing. They tend to happen late in flowering with a lot of strains- though there are a couple different causes/types. Also a lot of strains will grow a few nanners late in flowering - a last ditch attempt to produce seeds I suppose.

Hey MP, thanks! She's at 105 days from when she went into the germination box, or 73 days since her first flowers began showing.

NL#1 is 111 days from germ box (73 days of flowering) and I can see her going another 2 or 3 weeks. She's still putting out a lot of fresh pistils.

in my last post i say u have an excellent grow there...but u didnt put nothing there to can understand the size...on those picts u have a lighter there and ncan see how big are....WWOOOWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!man!!! i thought it was much more thinner and long...but is too long and fat enouph ...wow again....PERFECT GROW....perfect yield....best strain..congraulations....

Thanks so much, guys! :) Oh my, what an experience. I love it. So stoked. Ended up with about 925g fresh with bud on stems and premium trimmings. Took the two of us from midnight to about 5:30 to trim and wash this beauty...

Congrat's on the great harvest Brother! Very well done for your first grow! You're officially a grower now! +REPS!!! :high-five:
Thanks so much, bro! It feels good. It feels real good.
:high-five:

Today when I got up I trimmed the buds off the stems and put them in the drying rack in the closet.
