I know what you’re saying Jackalope, but genetics are actually a lot less diverse now. Not only for cannabis, but for pretty much all other plant species, as we’ve mixed and blended so many species together. It’s a worldwide phenomenon- and not just for gardeners and plants either. There’s the illusion of more variety, and there’s more general availability, but reality is that there much less diversity.
I realize this post doesn’t help either...
Not only does it not help it is confusing also LMAO. Just dealing one species here to simplify things. What do you mean by genetics being less divers? I understand that a lot of the same genetics are used in breeding. In the end lots of people take different paths to the same destination. While genetics make ups are different there are really only 3 types of marijuana. Sativa, indica ruderalis so all strains will be a mix of one or more of each. Out of all the thousands of strains out there. I would say half is just a renamed pheno of a known strain. My question, While the genetic make-up may be the same terpene levels are still changing. While marijuana is still getting stronger all the time. Mostly it is the flavors and smells that are improving. Something other then grow techniques are changing terpene profiles. Aren't those changes making things more divers?
