:welcome::welcome:This is my third grow, but my first photoperiod plant. The previous 2 Northern Lights and AK48 (still ongoing) have gone well so far. I have a newveg chamber I am using to start my Blue Mystic from Nirvana before I finish the AK48 off. I am usingthe tried and true paper towel method. I have had great success with this,so far I have successfully germinated 14 seeds in 14 attempts. I just placed the seeds in the paper towel last evening so I really don't expect anything for 12-36 hours yet. :welcome:

As they say... "Subbed".

I'm interested in the strain. I also have played a little bit in coco. It works pretty well for me. I swung by your other journal and took a quick look. Those plants are gorgeous. Why would you make a switch to coco with results like that? How many seeds did you place in paper towels?

I have also used paper towels successfully. I've moved to just soaking the seed in tap water for 18-24 hrs and then dropping it straight to coco or soil. I only changed because I'll pop 4-6 different strains at a time and it makes keeping them straight a bit easier as I write on the cups. Soak in an inch of water, drill some holes in the bottom, fill, plant.

Good Luck to you!!

Spitz, my previous grow was in Coco as well and the plants look great. Prior to that I did a soil grow. I had some nute problems (my issues not the soils) and it seems to me that they are more easily corrected in Coco based mediums. Besides I still have a bag of coco to use up so I made this grow in coco as well. My girls thanks you for the compliments!!:thanks:

All 4 seeds popped and had taproots ~1/2" long. I planted the blue mystic seeds in rapid rooter plugs that were placed in 4" pots of washed coco loco from foxfarms (I've noted TDS readings that were initially high on the coco loco so I thoroughly rinse the system to get the TDS down well under 1000 before I start). Watered generously and set them in a warm corner of a well lit veg chamber. Now just waiting for the little buggers to sprout and raise their pretty little dicot leaves to the light. Then the dance really begins!!!:high-five:

BTW Spitz, if I were to germinate several different strains simultaneously, I would use a pencil to make a circle on the paper towel, then label the circle with the strain, place the correct bean in the circle and wet the bean thoroughly. Repeat the same process with the other strains I was planning on growing. I've had such good luck with the paper towel method (18 for 18 so far), I'm not sure I want to mess with it and try something new.

Congrats! I'm with you on the paper towel. I think I've had one no-go from probably 18-20 seeds too. Though I did try a bowl of water and had no problems with that method, either.

I've got some coco on order and will be keeping an eye on this for sure. That and you picked a strain that intrigues me  maybe a candidate for my balcony plant.

I too have a few Nirvana strains myself, bubblicious, ak48, white rhino, wonder woman, master kush, super skunk, and about 15 freebies! So far successfully finished two bubblicious and one master kush, currently on a cookies kush from Barney's farm in week 1 flower, I think I'll run the white rhino or the ak48 next but I might see how yours turn out first.

Join the party Crash! I'm looking forward to this one. I picked it because it looked cool ..... hope it smokes as good as it looks!:thumb:

The seeds are coming out of the dirt, no leaves open yet but I see all 4 pushing their little heads up. Looking good!!!!

Just a quick little update. First set of leaves are out, they are about 1-1.5 inches tall. Here is a picture.

Just a quick update. These girls are 1 week week old. They are ~2" tall, and have yet to put out their second set of leaves, but I see evidence of them forming. They look healthy and are growing well.

I don't see how you have the patience for growing in soil, I can finish one from seed to final product in 3-3.25 months, you'd still be vegging around that time if I'm correct! They always say hydroponics is for the more advanced grower but it's been easier for me than soil, although I wish I could achieve the taste and potency of soil! I give ya props man! Good luck I'll be watching! They look healthy, a bit stretched for my methods, this is mine in it's first week, short and stout!

Crash, until this grow I have only grown Autoflower strains, that means 11-14 weeks and your done whether or not you like it. I'm not sure how long I'll veg this one, but I doubt it will be anything like 3 months. I sort of want a bit of stretch. I have significantly more height available in my grow chamber than I have used so far and I want to make use of it.

BTW did you grow from seed? or are using clones? If your growing from seed that is amazing in one week. From clones, maybe not quite as amazing but still spectacular. They look healthy and strong. Great job!!!:goodjob:

Like I said crash, 1 week that is amazing.... great looking girl.:bravo:

Not much happening other than growing. Nice little plants. Her is a pic at 2 weeks (well actually 13 days but I'm going to be busy tomorrow so I thought I'd show the girls off while I could). :cheer:

Transplanted the girls into their 5 gallon fabric pots. They had some nutrient problems, nitrogen deficiency. Leaves turning yellow. Fed them on a higher nute level specifically nitrogen. Now the leaves are greening and the plants are growing like mad. Well on their way now. 3/4 of the previous occupants of the grow chamber have been harvested and I have put the Blue Mystic young'uns in their place. The last of the previousgrow will be chopped this weekend. Then all the girls will be together again. Ill get pictures this weekend. :thumb:

All looking healthy, just what I was expecting, lol... Good stuff mate...

Here are the pictures. I have upgraded my lights somewhat for this grow. I have just under 100,000 lumens coming from my lights and the plants seem to like it. Growing like mad. Here are the 4 girls. I fim'ed 1 and topped another. First experience with this type of training, don't really want to do it to the autoflowers from what I have read.

It is sunday and my blue girls are 5 weeks old today. Girl #2 has some nute problems, not entirely sure what it is yet just started this past week. There is a brown/yellow discoloration on some of the leaves. This area gets dry and crunchy eventually. I have a picture (last of the set) of one pf the leaves. Any ideas or suggestions? Other than that they have been growing well. I plan to let them veg for another week and then switch to 12/12. Girl 1 was fimmed, girl 2 was topped and the other two are growling normally. Here are the girls from 1 to 4 in pictures with a closeup of a leaf with nute problems I would like advice on. Other than that life has been good since last week.

I watered the girls last night, I think some of my nute problems might have been overcompensating for lack of nutes early on and I just went a little too far. I was feeding them every time I watered, I have cut back to every other time and they are thriving with no nute issues continuing. Here are pictures of the 4 girls. If you compare them to those taken just 4 days ago you will see what i think is great growth on all of them. Also they all look healthy and happy growing right along. I have a top view and a side view of each. I hope I have them paired correctly, if not correct me and keep me honest!! I plan on switching to 12/12's on Sunday. Then flower for ~8 weeks. This grow is getting along now

Now on to the pot porn of the day ......
