Cannabis Oil Dosing Tutorial: Tacking Method

That is how I feel as well.

Trying to figure out how much plant I need to source to make oil before my grow is ready. My first seeds should arrive this week. Also need to decide and order what other seeds I need to add into the mix.

Feeling overwhelmed and desperate right now.

In my limited experience I have found that it makes about 10-12% of the dry weight of bud (strain dependant) and less for the high CBD
strains (not sure hw much less but have read somewhere that it's about half).

So an ounce of dried trimmed bud would make between 2 and 4 grams of oil but probably safe to average that off to 3 grams.

As for buying the right strains, well I know how tricky that can be but Motoco will steer you in the right direction and to my mind there are always similar alternatives if you cant find the exact strains. High CBD strains are a bit tougher to find but in recent times they have become a lot more popular and therefore easier to get hold of. There are even breeders who specialise in these such as CBD Crew.

One thing I don't know and maybe someone can comment is regarding auto's. Considering they have Ruderalis as part of their genetic makeup, would they be lower on the scale of medicinal properties, compared to photo plants with just sativa and indica heritage.

Best of luck and you will find all your answers on this forum. So many very experienced people all over the forum. Read, make notes and re-read your notes, thats all I can really give you as advice. There is loads to take in and it can be overwhelming but making notes just makes all the difference.

AngelWarrior,
Don't give up on your husband. Mine has been under palliative care for 17 months now with extensive small cell lung cancer. They told him he would only live a few months even with the aggressive palliative tx. The chemo and radiation did save his life but his quality of live now needs to improve and my hope is now the oil will allow that. There are so many side effects of the chemo and each treatment those effects get worse. It seems that most folks tolerate 4 months fairly well. But there are some that cannot even tolerate one dose of it. My husband had 6 months worth of it along with radiation to chest and whole brain radiation. That was harder on him than the chemo. My heart goes out to you. Hang in there and be strong. I know how hard it is to watch your husband loose weight. With the chemo, that gets even worse. For a while all my husband could tolerate was Boost. Great stuff. We still keep it on hand to this day for when his appetite is not the best. We buy cases of it at Sam's club.

Bottom line, do not listen to those doctors that are saying there is no hope of your husband's survival. I was told that sooo many times and it is very hard to believe in the face of devastating news. But it is true, your husband has a better chance to live than they are telling you. I just wish I had known about the oil sooner but it is what it is. Keep us posted

Thank you thank you thank you fghtsmallcell!

I had a rough few hours and have rallied back. Have made my priority task list and back to fighting and full positivity mode.

I ordered 12 pounds of wild Alaskan sock eye, tuna loin and sable fish, flash frozen. I am understanding that omega 3 opens important receptors for the cannibinoids.

A friend is loaning me a Norwalk juicer and I am growing wheat grass to add to his juices.

He is calling an Acupunturist who treats cancer with good results in Queens tomorrow now that we have a clear idea of what she will be treating.

He is seriously thinking of opting out of the chemo as they are saying it is for hoping to rid the spots elsewhere and perhaps shrink the stomach tumors.

We remain clear headed, positive and strong.

Much love to all here for the continued support.

Wow Mr. Dabs; you have been busy! I like your accurate descriptions through the process. A note: anytime you feel like a bug or something is in your system tack a little more concentrate and in 10-15 minutes you will feel mucho better. Just starting the concentrate you have not had time to build up your immunity system. Once that happens when you get it bug (even severe food poisoning) it feels more like a mild discomfort than being sick. You will find you can easily ween off blood pressure meds simply by checking it. When my blood pressure was normal and weened off the meds it stayed normal. Your assumption is correct on the anti fungal and anti bacterial properties, mutating cells, virus's, etc.

So glad everything is looking so much better in such a short time. You will be amazed in 6 months down the road. Thank you for the update. I love reading uplifting positive news. Great job Jack!

Hi Motoco and other healers.

Not really any questions just an update.

I have decided to make my seed purchase through Royal Queen Seeds for price and quantity.

Here are my plans:

Daytime meds

Flower Power - 88% Sativa -mix of South African landrace sativas
i intend to mix this with a high CBD strain grown from RQS medical mix as per your 3/4 mixed with 1/4 regimen.

I wil also order special Kush no 1 which is a sativa dominant hybrid with OG Kush as one of the parents

Northern lights 100% indica for night time meds

Then I will also order special Queen - because it's cheap.

This will then give me 5 free seeds too.

As an update, sciatica is much improved, needed the anti inflammatory properties to stop the spasms and allow it to heal.
Almost back to normal.

Mrs Dabs has been on the oil about 2 weeks and her blood presssure is almost normal. She is still on her meds but even with meds it was high, now it's normal with her meds. We will keep at it. We are almost certain her bp is caused by candida and she was pretty ill for a couple days and felt like she had a stomach bug. Got very bloated and as soon as that went down so did her bp so I can only assume its all the bacterial die off from the oil which contains plenty of anti fungal and anti bacterial properties.

And so the journey to health begins in earnest. Love the community here and can't wait to read about all the successes to follow here. Huge reps for you Motoco, you are a good man.

Once cured from the oil and hubby stays on a grain of rice a day he will not only have to worry about cancer ever coming back, his overall health will be much improved. He will heal from the chemo/radiation treatments also but it takes time due to the scar tissue damage. Your explanation of chemo/radiation was spot on, it would of come back. Its the side effect of chemo/radiation. Not my say, its on the American Cancer Society web; the side effect of chemo/late stage radiation is cancer. Even when I hear the word chemo/radiation I cringe. Simply because how it works and the misery people receive from it. On the oil with correct strains you actually don't know your killing cancer because you feel to good to think you have cancer. However, ultimately it is the persons choice. If they only knew the truth.

Angel,
Welcome, I am so glad you found Motoco's threads here. I wish I had found it sooner. My husband has went through the chemo and radiation and he is doing much better than any of his docs expected. I am very grateful that he is still alive but he is not healing from the poison they gave him and does not have a good quality of life. It is fully expected his cancer will show up again, if it does he has already been told he will get more chemo and he is prepared to do just that. I am desperate to keep that from happening. He is not yet convinced that this oil is the better way to go. I commend you on already having ordered seeds. I am too afraid to do that. I am learning to grow now but I do not know what strain my plants are for the most part. If we do have a bad result on a CT scan before I get this figured out, I will get in my car and make a road trip to buy exactly what I need.

I don't know if you have read through this entire thread but there are lots of references for the strains needed for cancer. I personally read them a couple of times now. This one and the thread on making the RSO also has good info. There is soo much info in these 2 threads I started taking notes so I do not have to search through the pages. It can be overwhelming and you have a tough road ahead of you. My thoughts are with you and your husband. Your name is so appropriate. You have to be and Angel at times and a warrior at others. Good luck

Remember; sativa dominate for the daytime (high thc) As close to pure indica for sleep. And a high cbd strain blended with the daytime.
Of a full cancer treatment (varies with chemo damage) 60 grams of the sativa dominate hybrid (high thc). 10 grams of high CBD strain and 6 grams of Indica.

Thank you thank you thank you fghtsmallcell!

Angel Warrior, Please remember to take care of yourself also. You are in for the roller coaster ride of your life. Here is a video that Motoco posted on the how to make the RSO for another person. Nutrition, Nutrition, nutrition!!! I watched it last night and think it might be something you would be interested in. It is a long video but worth watching. It really opens your eyes. I bet you can find the book in the library.

Yes! The Gerson method.

I will be doing this along with the oil for my husband.

Watched the docu over a year ago and have the book in my health library.

I have been an alternative therapy geek my whole life as well as a nutrition geek.

Ironic I know considering my husbands's illness. However, he does not share my love of healthy whole food eating.

Or should I say hasn't up until now.

On my way into the city to see him at the hospital and explain to the oncologist how chemo is not happening today. He is down to 160 lbs and hasn't had any solid food for almost 20 days...

Thanks for the great tip. That really helps!!
Another tip for capturing the important pieces of a thread that pertain to you is to use the "Blog this Post" option in the lower left corner of a post. If you look at my blog page on here you'll see an example, I use this option all the time - especially on longer threads.

Your husband is in good hands with you.:bravo:

Ok, I'm going out on a limb here in hopes that it will help someone. I don't talk too much about family history or personal experiences because of the identity factor but this really needs to be said for anyone on the fringes that might steer away from oil in favor of chemo/radiation. Truth is, I avoided chemo/radiation because I watched first hand the following: father dead from cancer, 3 uncles dead from cancer, 1 aunt dead from cancer, 2 cousins dead from cancer, and a girlfriends little brother again dead from cancer. Cancer types included prostate, lung, breast, leukemia and lymphoma. The oldest of the group was 59 and the youngest was 11. I learned about the oil when trying to help dad but it was too late; however, it provided the best palliative care available. He suffered the least of all the people I know in the end and was actually cracking jokes in his final week of life even though we didn't know about the proper method of administration and dosing. Now that we know about the proper method for making and dosing the oil our small circle has benefited tremendously. Cancer all but completely gone, MS is manageable and hopefully will be cured based upon what we've seen, and epileptic seizures are dramatically reduced. The first thing we noticed was normalized BP; none of us were on BP meds but I probably should've been with a 180 over 92 when I started the oil and down to 176 over 72 the last time I checked. The lack of sleep and anxiety over being sick was relieved as well within the first couple of months. We also follow gerson to a degree including the juicing and coffee enemas in addition to habanero tincture with tea or soup. I say to a degree because we aren't religious about the hipocrates soup and our juice recipes are made with a standard Breville instead of a Norwalk. We also switch up our juice recipe but the general staples are green apple, carrot, kale, beets, ginger and various other greens. So when I say I cringe at people taking chemo and radiation it's for good reason; I've seen first hand the pain and suffering and actually washed and cared for some of my loved one's at the end of their torture and torment. On the other hand, I've never seen anything but great results from using the oil and alternative treatments even in cased where it turned out to be palliative in nature.

My .02 about strains. There are going to be better strains than others for medicinal purposes but the bottom line is that you need THC and CBD, etc. I've recovered health using even unknown strains. In that case I would smoke a little to determine the type of strain and then make the oil accordingly. So while it may be best to get your hands on some Blue Dream or Harlequin don't fret if it's not available to you, keep searching and make the best of what you can get your hands on.

Hi budnoob,

Great post! You certainly can relate when I speak of how much I hate 'chemo/late stage radiation'. It disturbs me greatly to think this is the best our scientist can come up with, the FDA approves it as 'collateral damage'. Your correct about the strains, but, if its Indica (dosing regimen is best at night then) its not fun, if the person is already in depression they become more depressed. If its high thc sativa dominant hybrid or other it doesn't make that much difference except if you grow your own and make your own oil. Then the yield of the strain, heavy trichs come into play. And of course Indica as pure as you can get for sleep. Bottom line, any oil is better than no oil. That being said the higher the THC/CBD % the faster the heal.

Bet you count your blessings everyday for the decision you made about chemo. I often think of people I know who passes away from cancer, wish I could of helped them. It just gets the boilers inside steaming and raises my anxiety levels so I quit beating myself up. None of these people had to die. Its an awful death with pain and suffering. Many just want it over. Every human alive should have a right to cannabis concentrated oil...but wait, what about the pharmies? I hate to think like this, but, there is no other logical answer. Not when you learn what, how and the whys of the oil. Then they roll out 'chemo/radiation has been scientifically proven to kill cancer'. Uh...yea, with everything else also. Sad state to be sure.

BTW, my blood pressure is dead on to yours, always a tad high.

Wow....Yes. your post does and will help. Thank you. Keep up the good work and spreading the word. I truly believe these 2 threads have already made a difference in mine and my husband's life and quite possible will SAVE his life. Peace

I have noticed that more and more of the seed companies are adding the CBD information for the strains they sell on their sites. This really helps!
When you look up information for the strains, be sure to look for that.

And I don't even want to get into all of the horror stories regarding Chemo and radiation with people in my own life, but budnoob2's post was excellent!

I will not allow that poisoned fire to be put into my veins or that radiation BS, ever! I've seen what it does first hand.

No pharma medications, no prescriptions....poison pill free here and it will stay that way.

Cannafan I store mine in a semi cool area in the dark. I have mine in 1 gram syringes with caps. With what I have read it should last upwards to 3 years or longer. Mine is around a year old and if I don't tack right I definitely get stoned.

Thanks Beemerbill! I'm making more this weekend, so I will have a good supply of it. I don't want it to go bad on me. That's a great shelf life.

I'm similar to beemer on this, store my oil in capped 10ml syringes in cool dark and relatively dry location. Have never had any long enough to know when/if it will go bad.

Had to go and look what the heck no goo jars were cajuncelt. That's pretty cool. You could decarb in those jars. I like the syringes for the ease of dispensing of the essence of our herb.
