Cr8grow’s Corleone Kush Grow #2 Journal 2020

Yesterday was day 49, end of week 7 from seed, week 1 since flip to 12/12. No pistils yet, stretching...raising the light every day to maintain 24” over canopy. I pulled all yesterday to water but felt a bit of residual water weight low in the pots...put all back and will water this morning. I will up the TPS organic CalMag to 2 ml/gallon. Pulled a couple yellow leaves lying low. No f-gnats so far this grow...top dressed with Mosquito Bits when I transplanted to the 3 gallon pots. In the group shot the clawed leaf girl is on the far right...also was the runt...now keeping up with the others.

Getting nice and packed in there! Remember now that you are in flower you don’t want to dry them out as much between watering! Keep those roots fed for all the bud forming!

Great amount of stretch in a week

Day 63...end of week 9...3 weeks since flip to 12/12. Water two days ago...watering every 4 or 5 days when pots are light. Nutes Biocanna Bioflores 2.7 tsp. and 2 ml organic TPS Cal-Mag/gallon...2 gallons total, PH 6.4 this time with no PH. I added a 3rd small fan to increase airflow under the canopy this week. Plants are still stretching, raising the light daily, height around 20”. I will stay with the CMH315w Phillips 4k bulb until stretch is over, then will switch to the Phillips 3k to finish flowering. Today I did a light defoliation, taking thin branches low. I am getting a nice lower canopy of secondary bud sites on two of the four...those are staying. Main buds are developing nicely. Pics are from this morning before and after thinning. One plant is using up some lower leaves more than the others.

They run up another inch+ overnight when I water/feed, which was today after 5 days between last water. When that stops I guess the stretch is over..will know tomorrow. Ive got about another 4” I can raise the light in my cabinet. If I need more headroom I will start testing whether the plants can take being closer than 24” to the light. This time I tried to balance a longer veg (6 weeks) vs overgrowing my cabinet volume or height to maximize yield...2nd grow and still learning. Added Budswel guano this week to the feed schedule and will continue going forward. The plants tolerated the light defoliation the start of this week. Oddly trichomes exploded almost overnight on the sugar leaves and tonight I think I see some purple. Lower fans are starting to be consumed...I dont think I have any significant issues. Pics are from yesterday.

Day 70...end of week 10, 4 weeks since flip to 12/12. First pistils showed April 15th. Water 4 days ago...nutes Biocanna Bioflores 2.7 tsp., 2 ml organic TPS Cal-Mag and added this week Budswel guano 1 Tbsp./gallon...PH 6.5 with no PH down, 2 gallons total. Stretch ended two days ago, swapped out the 4k bulb, replaced with Phillips 3k bulb this morning right before lights on. You may notice the pinker light hue in the open cabinet picture. I had about another 2” limit to raise my light...final height OK. Trichomes just started to appear early this week and exploded from there in the past few days. Also a bit of purplish tint to the sugar leaves...many have no serrations. The plants are starting to consume lower fan leaves, which I believe is normal about half way through flower. Im concerned about further thinning stressing the plants. I have LST down pretty well now but have no game on thinning. Cali says 8 weeks flower, 10 if you want a complete knockout. Regardless, I have a scope and will watch trichomes on calyxes for ripeness.

Watered 2 gallons total yesterday...reduced Bioflores to 1.9 tsp/gallon, same 2 ml Cal-Mag and 1 Tbsp Budswel/gallon. Took them out of the cabinet for watering until slight runoff and got them packed back in. Removed a few dry leaves and a few yellow that dropped off easily from each. The upper fans on the tallest plant are starting towards a purple tinge. No further growth height. I should have 4 to 6 weeks flower to go.

A lot of growers remove a ton of fan leaves after the stretch to expose all the bud sites. I’m a little hesitant myself still but I’ve seen some crazy defoliations that result in great buds! At the very least I would suggest removing any leaves that block a bud site. I like to remove those as well as any overlapping and undergrowth leaves until you can just barely see through the canopy, but so that it isn’t a big Bush where leaves will stay wet on top of each other. It helps with air flow to prevent any mould issues and allows more bud sites that are a little lower to develop that otherwise would’ve been blocked from light! If you want you can try just one plant and compare how it does to the others this time so you get a few for the next grow.

Otherwise they look fantastic!!

Great garden cr8 :thumb:
Looks like you have a handle on things. Love the grow cabinet.

I defol my plants. I'll selectively pluck leaves during veg. After the flowering stretch I'll pluck leaves to uncover flowers. Typically it's the fan leaves that point inward twords the core of the plant that I pluck.

Day 77...end of week 11, 5 weeks since flip to 12/12. Water yesterday...nutes Biocanna Bioflores 1.9 tsp., 2 ml organic TPS Cal-Mag and Budswel guano 1 Tbsp./gallon...PH 6.5, 2 gallons total. The plants are consuming the bigger fan leaves, pulled a few more that were ready to drop. Getting some nice fall colors, serious purple on the tallest and wine shades on the others. The tallest plant is a different pheno with a larger bud structure. The buds are all fattening up and the trichomes are significant already compared to my first grow...this will yield some quality hash from the trim. This is looking to be some sticky organic nighttime medicine.

Mid week update...about half way through week 6 since flip. Water this morning, usual nutes at PH 6.5, used a bit more water than usual to get more of a healthy run off this time. The plants were all rotated in the cabinet today. Interesting, the lower leaves on the ones closest to the passive air intake, which is currently 64F overnight appear to be spray painted with dark purple. In general the upper fans, sugar leaves and even calyxes are purpling up. You can see a lot of fall colors emerging as the plants consume stored nitrogen. Smell is strong, becoming tart lemon and insense...as Cali Connections notes. Im trying back-building one bud on the tallest pheno....thanks @Emilya @Rich Farmer @Davidlespe.
