Gov's PlatinumLED Adventure With DocBud's High Brix Kit

Ditto on the S&P fans. I've had a model 100 for over a year without a hiccup. :thumb:

Thanks VW and Grey tail. You made my mind up. I think I'll go with the 6" only because I have on hand a couple hundred feet of insulated flex duct. Posts like these are what helps us all grow and Gro !
Thanks, Andy.

And Gov, didn't mean to step in on your page. But a thanks to you as well for your comments on this :thumb:

Many thanks to Gov et al on the fan recommendation. Yes, these journals are a great resource for those of us starting or upgrading our set-ups. Plus the results obtained by you experienced growers are truly enlightening and encouraging.

This grow really showed the effects of medium and nutes on plant size and structure. Am hoping you may provide a smoke report after conclusion to let us know if you note differences in taste/smell and potency too. Cutting-edge science and horticulture is awesome (and the bud porn is cool too)

:bravo:

I'm glad you find the info helpful man. Smoke report is on the list for sure ;)

Very inspiring pics Gov! I'm pretty sure I experienced some LED burn on both of my SDs as well. Since raising the light directly above them (P600) 6 more inches (now at 3 feet!) it has moved onto healthy style. Interestingly, 5 different strains around it were not affected by the LED, and all strains have been given exact same DocHB treatment.

Regarding the new SP fans... I love them! The problem with them is that once you bring one into your garden, you suddenly look down on all your other fans as being inferior. I've since replaced all my old fans with SP (TD-Silent) and am currently in the garden with all 6 running atm (4x 6" and 2x 8") and the only thing I hear now are the PlatLED fans. Those little buggers put out a significant hum. ;)

Nice post, Kenosis.:thumb:

Yep, I find most things are like that. Tools, cars, clothes...women. Once you know better, it's hard not to raise your expectations on everything else.

Gov how close do u have your lights from your clones my clones are 8-11 inches tall and my light is 24 inches away going to start the veg tonight

Looks good gov!

I'll toss my 2 cents in as well, I won't buy any fan BUT a TD-silent, if stealth is a concern. The fan is, as it's name implies, silent!

Tav what's a good height to keep these 600 's in clone and how many u think I can run in veg in 5 gallon pots should i use all 3 lights or just 1 I'm a run 8-12 in 5 gallons

Just use one to clone, and super far away, 4-5 feet. I do four 10-15g pots under my 2 p600. Prob could fit nine 5s if I wasn't using docs kit and big pots. 12 5s would be no problem under 3 600s.

So use 1 p600 to veg all 8-12 plants at 4-5 feet away?

Oops thought you were asking about the light for cloning. I'd put them at 3 feet. My p300 is hung as high as possible in my dr90 (5' tall) and I put my plants on the ground. If two lights is enough to cover all the plants in veg, that's perfect. Once you flower get all three in there and drop lights a little. I don't go closer than 24" to main canopy when flowering.

So put them at 3 feet away from my clones my tent is 7 ft tall

... I don't go closer than 24" to main canopy when flowering.

My main canopy is at about 18", but most of the mains have crawled within a few inches at times. Even now I have some tops almost brushing the lights, but the nicest, most uniform looking stuff is the stuff at 18". I've thought about raising them the last 4", but in all honesty, I don't want to go fumbling lights over a 4x4 tray loaded with plants starting their 5th week of flower. When my plants get bigger or deep into flower, I don't go pushing them around too much. I don't trust myself.

As I get older I become more feeble, but I try to offset some of that by mitigating potential mistakes with wisdom.

No rhyme nor reason, but I snapped these literally as I was walking out the door this morning...

Some HSO Blue Dream. This is one of her mains. Behind this cola, you can see some branches of that long-legged amazon 8bk

...and the Barney's Farm 8-ball kush (notice the customized cat hair on the top of the bud in this first pic. I didn't like it there so I removed it)

Those yellow leaves are the remnants of getting torched with brix about 2 weeks ago, but they're doing good. Another dose of water with a dash of transplant this morning. Also, I installed a large dehumidifier in my room and instead of rh climbing to the mid-60's overnight, I came in this morning and it was 49% :)

Looking great. The BD is filling out nicely!
