Growing Cannabis 101: Mint Chocolate OG, HSO, Organic Super-Soil, 25% Perlite, Gaja Green Organics, 3 Mars 300s &1 Mars 144, Equal Par Wall To Wall

Hey dean morning buddy !

I was thinking about your air flow problem?

Might not help but what about putting a fan aiming at your light on top of bucket shooting down at light and possibly going and getting some air flow in those buckets ?
I don’t have an airflow problem , I have a intake fan at the bottom and one taking hot air out just below the led light , I also have a fan on the inside blowing the top of the canopy to help keep things moving I was only concerned because when flower comes the buds would end up having no spacing in between them, this is my first space bucket grow and I let the plant get too big as far as width , I could grow it another 2 ft tall if I wanted I can always add more spacers with fans but I should have stuck with 8 mains

Hey guys I haven’t abandoned this I’ve just been so busy with work and my kids, it’s construction season and we work long hours I’m up at 330 am and I just got home and with kids I have a lot going on outside work as well, I have been taking photos everyday ish but just haven’t had time to put it up and share with you guys and gals. I am so glad I don’t have to mix my nutes or else my plants would be very unhappy right now. Thank you gaja green for making my life so easy, I will always use this stuff until I learn to make my own concoctions and super soil but again extra time is hard to come by in this house. Anyway, I will make time this weekend to load up some stuff. I really wanted to post everyday but I am trying, I have a lot to learn and the only way is to get the feedback from all of you guys , which I appreciate the fuck out of this 420 family. And the only way to get that is to be posting, so I gotta come up with a system where I can make time for this cause I do enjoy it. Thanks for reading my excuse for slacking on the grow journal.

Cheers everyone
:passitleft:

:420:

@Lowrider72 thanks man I really appreciate you stopping by, I am really enjoying this grow but it has been challenging at times.
No probs mate. Hehe.
Its always a challenge or it would be TOO easy.... Hahaha.
You hang in there kitty...

@Lowrider72 @Kingjoe83 thanks guys , if it was easy everyone would do it , frig I’ve put almost 80hrs in this week alone and still have today to work, it never ends. I’m gonna sit down tonight and get on the grind

update - the plant is way to larger for my space bucket so it’s in the 2x4 under 2 mars 300 leds and I put my black dog and blue kings in the space bucket for now , I have a bunch of clones going. So once they root I’m gonna pull them out and throw a scrog into the tent , my last run I vegged for 100 days , so I may do the same but I’m undecided. But I want to start my moby dick XXl auto run so I may just flower it to get it done, what do you guys think , I’d like to start having faster turn overs , but I don’t want to sacrifice yield cause I will only have “4” .... ( legal formality) at a time . But I tell my wife that when I take clones it’s stil just one plant split up, I think that’s a grey area in our laws but I’m sure I could pull it off.

still have today to work
Gotta keep the household going...and growing...
Just thought I'd stop in and see how you're doing-sounds like you've had a busy couple weeks-
fortunately, your plants keep on a growin' whether you're there or not-that one from the bucket must be a big girl by now...I'll check in later for the pics-she sure looked good in the last ones...
Hope you get some time to rest a bit-those 16 hour days get old real fast, but at least the added $$ in the paycheck help to ease the pain (a little)

Hey so I know it’s been a while life is so busy, I have been trying to keep updated photos so here we go.

I have just been watering since the last defoliation update, just letting her do her thing for a little bit partially because I haven’t had the time

Just wanted to take a pic with the light on

This is the first time I’ve tried super cropping I did a lot of research just never put it into practice , there’s a couple that I can see a hole through the stalk so I know I messed up but she bounced back quick , I may take thoes ones for clones.

We are now up to current date , I watered today @ph6.8 , she is really starting to fill right in , I’m going to set up a scrog in the tent and spread it right out , she is very dense so if I don’t defoliate constantly some of the smaller tops don’t get any light .
CFCDB585-B2EE-41BD-879F-961195098E86.jpeg
I pulled her out to get a good look at her ,she’s starting to not be as dark green as usual so I’m gonna let her lighten up a bit more then I’m going to top dress a half dose but it will be a 75/25 % ratio , 4-4-4 all purpose gaja green/ 2-8-4 power bloom gaja green organic dry amendments. I will also water with a compost tea to boost up microbial life again, the air pot sets out pretty quick , I think next run I will get thicker root pouches see if I can slow the dry out rate , or install slow droppers to keep it constantly moist so I don’t kill or make the microbial dormant, I rely on the beneficial microbials and bacteria and fungi to break down my nutes to make it available for the roots to uptake it.

As you can she she defiantly outgrew her space bucket, she is now in the 2x4x5’3” progrow grow tent

I just want to thank everyone who has helped me along the way, this is probably the most useful places to obtain information and to share what you know .
I am going to make sure I take atleast one photo a day and take the time to say something about it , I hope your enjoying my journal and I can’t wait to see this plant in flower , there a quite a few oheno types so I’m excited to see what I got , I took clones off it already I plan on throwing them outside.

Also my space bucket is still in use I have a black dog and a 3 blue kings in it , they are still in solo cups but they are going in 1 gal root pouches soon

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Are the little ones going in the room with the Chocolate Mint when they start growing up?
She's looking great,btw...

Polyethylene 55 gallon drums are super heavy duty-If you've got any wineries around, they've
probably got some empties sitting around-they're used to transport the propylene glycol that wineries use in their chillers-they're disposable,so if you find some, they'd probably be glad to get rid of them.
Just saw the top off with a jigsaw, and you've got a blue 55 gallon "bucket" to work with.
HVAC suppliers may also have some sitting around,if you've got one in your area.
Just a thought...

May 13/19

I just want to start off with saying I couldn’t be happier with this plants growth, she’s an absolute beast and really responds well to defoliation and LST and topping , I grew this plant to the 7th node topped at 5th and left all the nodes to grow out I let thoe grow out and I topped 7 tops each top I left 4 top nodes on , she is around 30 main potential colas , I’ve take. 2 rounds of clones off the plant as well. I really wanted to finish this in my space bucket but I didn’t plan right and it got way to big for the space she was in. My plan b was to move her into the 2x4 tent and unfortunately I had to move her. It’s been about a week in the new tent under 2 mars 300 LED lights

074C18F0-5D79-4FF8-B434-2B67C2648767.jpeg
She has such a nice structure like I said I couldn’t be happier, this is the first time I had her out to look at her closely in a week
4C9748CD-082A-484A-BF08-47FC6A7DEE40.jpeg
For not having anything holding this plant into position she sure has a really flat canopy going in , I am super impressed with this pheno type
8764C8A1-1771-4694-BAA7-7B79B9C61736.jpeg
As I look closer I can’t help but notice how crowded she is and how many potential bud sites are getting. Checked out
56270F79-C420-448B-822F-6DE0FF4C9191.jpeg
I decide I’m going to do a light defoliation
C3B62782-9B68-42FF-9460-ABFAF539A2BB.jpeg
I only took a few leaves off before I decided to do some LST. To widen this girl out , everyone loves a women with big swingin hips. Might I say thoes are some of the sexiest leaves I’ve seen come off a plant, such a beautiful rich colour
6AA0B9AC-DAB0-46F8-ACF3-0623ACD90EC0.jpeg

So this is just before I did the LST. I am only allowed a certain amount of pics at a time
Too be continued.....

May/13/19

Continuation... so here I took a remainder of one of my 5 gal pale bottoms I’m using to tie the plant down with until I install scrog in my 2x4 tent.
93DF11FD-9BF5-4BE5-92AC-91430D67D199.jpeg
So I drilled holes and used rubber coated garden wire I picked up at my local dollar store, I sat back and planed the best way to lay this canopy down without crowding everything and blocking other bud sites light .
A12A71E1-3E7C-4C6B-8247-A334DECD46EF.jpeg
Once I figured my plan I used both hands and slowly softened the stems to bend down , she is a chunky one I’m glad i did it without breaking anything
B84516B7-B052-454F-B550-3847939C86FF.jpeg
So now I payed down all the tallest tops to redirect the hormones to all the other bud sites and they will soon be as tall as the rest , that’s the joy of plant manipulation you can achieve anything with time and patients . Some strains don’t like to be trained as much as others but for the most case most respond well

She is almost double the width and lowered the height , this is how you maximize your indoor grow lights , they don’t have the penetration the sun does so to maximize space and power consumption , we need to maximize yields. But there are so many ways to grow no one way is the right way , it needs to be all based on what works for you and your set up. One thing I leaned coming on this site is there are 100s of people if not thousands and your all getting good results

This is what’s she looks like in her final home, next weekend I plan on re amending more soil and I’m going to transplant from my 3 gal root pouch to a 5-7 gal root pouch
Thank you so much for taking the time to follow me, I hope you find this and useful as I find all of your information,
I will try to keep more updates going through the week but I will take a picture everyday at bare minimum
Until next time
Happy growing for your friend dean west

Going well Dean!

I don’t think I can Change my journal title

You can click on the "report" button in the bottom left corner of your post
and ask an administrator to change it for you...I'd think they'd do it -doesn't hurt to ask, worse they can do is say no...

UPDATE- for anyone new joining in the grow has outgrow her original plan and is now in a 2x4x5’3 grow tent with 2 mars 300 leds actual watts is 270 in total. I don’t think I can Change my journal title so this is best I can do. Thanks guys and gals
You can message @Teddy Edwards he should be able to help change your title for you buddy.

May14/19

So I am excited I am able to do this tonight , so last night I did some lst to her and tied down some branches she was pretty crowded. She is now in the 2x4 under 2 mars 300s , and she seems to really like the new hole I noticed a lot of new growth, the Rh is higher in my tent less passive air then the apace bucket. I really need to up-pot this plant soon.

I can’t believe how big she’s getting
I decided to do some defoliation, and adjust some ties add some more to really flatten the canopy out
