Your ladies look amazing the genetics and the grower must be amazing, please jump over to my journal and check it out it's got Hydro (DWC) , SOIL, NOW COCO, and always experiment with different training methods, and lights 1000w HPS, 315w LEC, 2MARS HYDRO 192, AND MARS 300W , and tons of CFL, but anyway your plants are so beautiful and nicely formed, I am very impressed and definitely subbed

Mike's Crown Royale CKS Grow - Round 2

Hi everybody. Sorry I haven't been here in a few days, but what can I say. Life gets busy.

So today is day 40 from the day I took the clones. Over the past few days, I've harvested the big girls, done my house cleaning, and made several modifications to my room which I had discovered needed attention through my first grow. Also, I've had to deal with my outdoor vegetable garden. In this region, we have a very short growing season, and if I wanted to harvest anything at all it had to be done there and then.

So the girls ended up staying in the small box for two extra days and let me tell you, they're bustin' out!

After cleaning all my fans,vents, filters, pumps, walls and floor, I switched out the light, scrubbed the tables and the room is now ready for pre-flower.

even cut this lil' window so I can check up without even opening things. It's got a magnetic cover.

So the girls are all moved in, reservoir is filled, nutes are mixed, timers are programmed, and away we go!

I will run them like this for 2-3 days, and then drop the screens in and fill it out for another 7 days or so. Lollipopping starts tomorrow. After that, switch out the bulb, and it's bloom time.

Oh ya. Almost forgot. I also ran a 4 inch line from my veg box into my flower box with a small booster fan. What a difference! It's dropped the temp in my veg box by almost 9° AND scrubs the air.

I should also mention, I got some new genetics today. I tried True North seed bank for the first time, and I got to say I'm pretty happy. I ordered them at 8:30am on Friday, and received them today, Monday, at 12:30 PM.

I'll be getting on some of these right away to be ready for the next round. Can't wait!

Hey mike. Question about your clones. How long do you usually veg them for after they have taken.

The crown royale is a nine week strain. For that reason, I take clones from my mother when the other girls are in the fifth week of bloom. That way I have roughly 4 weeks for them to root, grow, and be topped a couple of times before I move them. I can't grow them any longer because of veg space restrictions. Once I move them into the big box, they get another 7 to 10 days of filling in the screen.
So if you count 10 days for rooting the clones, I guess it's roughly 30 days.

So as you may or may not know, I use mostly GH nutes. Not because I love them, but because I'm comfortable with them. I've done a lot of research on different nutrients, and the companies that sell them. I'm not very impressed with AN and the way they conduct themselves. Not fond of big Mike either. Just my opinion.
I think I'm leaning towards Botanicare. I have a friend who has used them for over 10 years, and swears by them. When I ask him why he likes them so much, he says... The flavor. The taste. Does anybody have any info or experience with Botanicare?

Seems like it'll cost about 20% more than a GH run. I guess you get what you pay for, and like anything else, the best way to find out is to go ahead and try it.
