Happy House - First Autoflower Medical Grow - Indoor

They look really good. Keep doing what you are doing, they are responding well. They let you know what they want, it looks like you are in tune with them.

High HH,

I like your style. You used your ingenuity to figure how to get where you wanted to go. I've seen pipe cleaners with lst. Works very well.

Couple things - one - I've found that if you receive different answers to a question, probably means there are different ways. Find what works for you. Two - seedlings like warm and moist. as they grow bigger, higher heat and humidity aren't needed so high. At (or near) maturity, they can take cooler nights and prefer less humidity (helps with perspective)

You have started off well, and still going strong. I'm guessing you'll have a nice stash soon. :thumb: :goodjob:

Bode: Good thing they don't still need high humidity! I couldn't get it higher than 50% (and that was with a tonnnn of work). I'm praying for a good stash! I'm just praying I don't mess up a lot and my intuition doesn't let me down. I think these plants just will deal with a ton of mistakes and will just keep bouncing back. I probably look in on them too much, but I can't help it. Thanks for the kinds words! :circle-of-love:

I know I said that I was going to let them just stretch, but I had to open up light to the sites that I have been working to create. So I ponytailed the larger ones. I also propped up the two smaller ones and turned them away from the light. Its an experiment to see what happens.

Happy beginning of the end of the year!

This is Day 28 for Thumbalina (NL), Beuhla (NL), Claire (AH) and Misty (BB) and Day 18 for Thomasina (BB).

Let's see:

Since we got the little heater and the humidifier for the grow tent, we have stablized the heat and humidity at 75 degrees F and 40% RH.

Today marks the end of the Week 4 nutes for the 4 older girls. Thomasina will get the week 4 nutes for a about another week (I have two jugs left and don't want to waste them).

They have gotten this week:

Micro - 2.5 ml
grow - 2.5 ml
bloom - 2.5 ml
cali/mag - 5 ml

Next week I switch the 4 to:

Micro - 2.5 ml
grow - 1.5 ml
bloom - 2.5 ml
cali/mag - 2.5 ml

As I understand it from the General Hydroponics site, the grow is primarily for growing roots during the vegetative stage, so don't need as much at this point. Does anyone know why I would also decrease the cal/mag? Just wondering, since I like to understand the "why" behind things. :geek:

Also, my PH is at 5.6 and the ppm is currently between 400 and 600 per 500.

So on to the photos! They really are coming into their own. The two Northern Lights are just growing like nobody's business! And they all smell so good!

This is Thumbalina. The second picture is to show her from the back end and a little bit of her structure. None of the girls stems are alternating yet, so time to go before the start to flower yet. Both of the Northern Lights have a ton of bud sites.

Big Beuhla! However, I think Thumbalina has outgrown her in Bud sites.

This is Claire. Not as big as the Northern Lights, but outgrowing the Blueberrys.

This is Misty. She is a Blueberry and I think that these two will go for a little longer than the others. I don't know why, but that is just the feeling I get. Also seems like the proping up helped both of them. The look like the are praying now. :Namaste:

And my little baby - Thomasina.

Thomasina_2_12022017.JPG

The only thing I did tonight was some tucking and I tied one leaf to another to move it out of the way of some developing bud sites.

Another thing I do every time I water is roate the plants. They are never in the same spot twice and definately not facing the same direction every time. My thinking is that all sides of the plant gets light and the plant might go into panic mode because it can't quite get to facing the light. Thus producing more bud sites.

And thus ends tonight's report. :high-five:

Ok so was looking into how long the girls will grow for and have a question:

420 says that their blueberry and norther lights autoflowers have an average flowering period, lasting somewhere around 55 days. So does that mean that it is an additional 55 days after they start showing the pistils or when they actually start producing bud? I know that they are in pre-flower now, but I was wondering when to start the count (only to get a rough estimate of course).

They also say their Amnesia Haze autoflower takes 9-12 weeks to flower. So again is that the whole timeframe or is that how long it takes once it is in pre-flower? That is 84 days so I can see that as being the general timeframe for all of them (+ or - depending on the individual plant).

Just wondering - as much as I love seeing them growing and stretching a ton, I also know that I will love to see the little buds start producing! It's like my first kid. I am anxious for the next step (although I am loving each and every step!).

:goof:

Hello! Hope everyone had a good weekend! Hubby and I went to the local zoo and enjoyed their Christmas light show. Also got to see a Koala bear up and moving around! Such cuties!

Was working on figuring out how to take up-close pictures. I borrowed a macro lens from my son's friend as well as used the zoom button on my phone's camera.

First up are two pictures that I took just with my iPhone.

I think that is frost there! Am I wrong?

and here are two with the macro lens.

What methods do ya'all use to take close-ups? I want to make sure that I can ask help on when to harvest and all and I want some really good bud porn. My husband will be all about that as well!

Goood morning!
420-magazine-mobile484998758.jpg

I use this and my phone for my macro shots. It does the job. :) Try not to use your phone's zoom feature. It's not actually magnifying anything. It's algorithmic. It's guessing. Better to use an actual magnifying device and leave your "zoom" settings out of it.
As for the frost - possibly? Hard to tell there. But frost doesn't really get into high gear until a week or two into budding in my experience. . . looking good, HH!

They work good minus the flash .

My wife bought a kit that has that same thing not bad bud.

I think I read in The Mad Dabbers journal - On with the grooowwww!

I like it, so copying is the best form of flattery! :)

I took several pics of each plant. I have a little concern for Beuhla and Thumbalina. Both are Northern Lights.

This is Beuhla.

1 - it seems like the top leaves are more like a V than straight. Is this something to worry about or is it just because she is growing so much?
2 - I have ripped some leaves on her when training, I can leave those on the plant right? They aren't dead and are still green outside of where I ripped them.
3 - she is very compact and I don't know what to do with the LST. Any suggestions?

This is Thumbalina. She is not as compact as Beuhla, but one of her leaves is showing a little yellow. Any thoughts?

Let me know your thoughts on Beuhla and Thumbalina. I don't want to mess them up at this point!

Thanks!

True to form - I ask a question and then try to figure out through the web. The taco leaves could be mag/calcium def. I just lowered the cal/mag yesterday so could make sense. I went back and watered with 5ml of cal/mag in water with a ph of 5.6. They seem to respond fairly quickly to any change so I will do a final check on them before I go to sleep. Hope this is it!

2 - Damaged leaves still help the plant. I'd say leaf them on. ;)

3 - My northern light grow was dense and compact too. My regret is that I over trained her and kept her too confined. I had to defoliate repeatedly because she was suffocating herself. Maybe stick to leaf tucking and pony tailing until she had some legs you can work with.

Thanks! I had the same thought on damaged leaves. I will stick with tucking and pony-tailing for a little bit. Will do! Still hoping the taco leaves are cal/mag issue.

Ever been so tired that you type one thing and then edit and when you re-read there are extra words that make no sense?

Beuhla is about the same but it's only been a couple of hours. Must sleep now!

Day 32 for my two Northern Lights, the Amnesia Haza and 1 Blueberry. Day 25 for the other Blueberry.

I felt like whichever plant was in the center (directly under the LED panel) seemed to be more droopy, so I moved them down again. But now I wonder if they are too far from the light. I guess we will see what they do tomorrow. Do I every need to do a flush on coco? Could salt be building up?

Everyone needs to have some fun - so here is a little game. Try to figure out which plant is which.

Looks like the nodes are beginning to alternate on one of the girls!

IMG_200631.JPG

Finally, do you think they are too far from the lights? I feel like they should be closer, but am worried about what looks like a taco effect on the leaves. Maybe they are just growing really fast right now? What are your thoughts?

So I said I can never make up my mind. I just went down and added the crates under the three on the left and my half a doe under the two on the left. I don't think it is the lights. How often should I be watering at this stage? Is once a day sufficient? Should I do a flush? And if so, just plain water or do I add something? Just want to make sure my girls don't go south. I'm a worrier. Can you tell?

Half a door not doe...

I try to keep my canopy between 12 & 18 inches from the light. I use an app on my phone to measure the intensity of the light in real time.

Have you seen a time lapse of a cannabis garden? They have a slow dance that can be seen when it's sped up. "Droopy" plants might just be in the middle of a dance move you can't see.

I flush my coco in the last week or two of bloom. Tells the plant to eat up her own energy stores and push out lots of oil before she dies :)

If you're concerned about salt build up -it happens- run extra nutes (more water at feeding, not stronger nutes) through the pot so that you get run off. Flushes out the old and replaces it with new throughout the pot. That's what I do when I'm concerned about possible hot spots in the substrate.

I see those alternating nodes! Puberty is beautiful.

I think they look a little far from the lights. I keep an eye out of course...but I allow for small complaints like minor curling and folding on my girls. So maybe ignore all my advice. ;)
