That's fine too. Canna may cause you lockouts and deficiency no matter what your tap water is. I stopped using it a decade ago because of that. However I've used water with 0.9ec with no problems. Just take your base nute to 1.7ec instead. It's unlikely you will need to run calmag with a water ec that high. Normally a harder water will carry both cal and mag, atleast in Europe anyway. If your leaves start looking really dark green, drop the calmag and see how it is without.

I read with canna too its best to have the right temps at the root ball , 18/22c no higher than 24c never give cold or warm feeds either , try feed at around 20c when you do

Unusual twisting, skinny new growth, blotchy coloring? There is lots of new growth but so much of it forming underneath the larger fan leaves?
I also noticed these smaller older leaves at the bottom showing some signs of deficiency but could also be damage she never recovered from. Keeping an eye on it.
Softened well water - 0.6 EC
Nutes added - 1.0 EC
Calmag - 0.1 EC
Rhizo + zym - 0.1 EC
Total EC 1.8
pH 5.6-5.8

Could these problems be a result of my water softener replacing ions in the water with Na?

I was wondering if I used distilled water for a week to see the results of using water with 0ppm would it be equivalent to using RO water? Before investing in a filtration system I want to be sure its something I'd require otherwise I'd prefer not to get one.

I think you'll see an improvement if you try distilled water. It couldn't hurt, but in the long run purchasing it could get pretty expensive if you grow a lot of plants.

Thanks! And ya will only be running it for about a week to see results. If plants look better I will purchase an RO system

I was buying water at the store too, what a total pia. If you get a RO for around 200-400 the thing will pay for itself within a couple of months or less, it did for me anyway. I have a 3 stage microline (pretty simple and cheap). I change the sediment filter, carbon filter and what ever the 3rd stage is once a year for about $30. You should replace the bladder, I think, once every two years for about $40. I use about 5g a day around here. A 5 gallon jug from the store a day would have me around $1500+ a year, no thanks lol. I would never ever put softened water in my plants...again. Their is way too much Na from the softeners salt.

Update: they r both getting
0.3 EC Calmag + 0.5 EC Canna Coco A and B + rhizo + zym = total 0.9EC
Approximately 0.6L - 1L per day (3 gallon pot) for the larger one and 0.3-0.5L per day (1gallon pot) for the smaller one

Any input ? Particularly regarding the very dark leaves on the larger plant?
