Hey Buddys - Soil - WSS Skunk - Grow Journal 2012

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

I just tried to FIM one of the plants today....F@ck I hope it worked!

PICT0146.JPG

Here they are today - I fed em some biogrow today with epsom salts and they look good-

PICT0145.JPG

The one on the bottom right had a crooked stem just like one of the blackjacks so i tied it to the corner pole to help straightened it-

The good news is the G13 (bottom left) has stuck its head up so happy days...and the Bubble Gum seed got planted today too so just waiting on the white widow and blue cheese-

Oh I aint gettin married man, the girlfriends sister is in London in July. We'll just get drunk and dance the chicken dance lol

Not even sure if we are moving to the house we thought we were! might just move down the road and save renting a removal van...oh the hassle. No doubt Ill get the internet in the new place.I just realised how much it distracts me.

Take some pics of the lst'ing dude, I wanna see! I think I figured out how to keep the electricity bill down. Im not going to watch TV for the summer....its only going to be Olympics and crap like that lol

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

waw can't believe the growth you got going. 2 of mine seam to have stopped growing altogether I'm wondering if I should change the light to 20/4 to c if I can give them a boost or start nutes or repot into biobizz soil as I heard it was best to not use it for bringing on seeds.
the grinspoon is doing ok that's the 1 il lst will prob do it next week il get some pix up of my efforts.
keep up the good work buddy :peace:

I think you should increase the lighting time man as one of my plants nearly died from underwatering so I gave it plenty of light and some super thrive which stimulates root development...the one on the bottom right.

Also biobizz soil isnt the best so Id recommend Canna pro + ...it works well with biobizz products...Im always going to plant the seeds into their final pot as it really gives em a chance to expand quick and get comfy lol

Also! Biobizz root juice helps too and lots of good vibes so there! Thats the combo Im using. Give em 24/0 for a few days and see what happens...fingers crossed!

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

ye man I had been under watering them still a bit freaked out about all the gnats I got last time iv also started adding extra light as I was just running a 200w veg light iv now got 2 45w flower lights going as well to give a fuller spectrum things r looking up. pics coming soon :peace:

Gnats come from soggy soil is it? I get ya.These plants like it hot so the temps are always around 27c which makes em drink up that water. Im watering only once maybe twice a week at the most as Im terrified Ill over water or give em root rot. It really is a delicate balance. Lifting the pot to judge its weight is prob the best technique....get some super thrive too.It really does help get em back up to full strength. Fingers crossed they make that porn star look you want very soon.

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

I'm thinking getting good roots is really important early on.. stronger root system will suck up water (& food) faster ...

Some of my earlier grows didn't do that well because I didn't give them the best growing medium & nutes. This time I've started using Canna Rhizotonic (plus others) every time I water, its a bit expensive, but seems to be doing a decent job...

It smells a bit fishy.. I'd love to know how they make it. Is Superthrive similar stuff Buddy? I know Biobizz do something called Root Juice.

I'm finding out that you have to spend quite a bit of cash to get good results under lights.. whereas outside they just seem to get on with it!

These are cast-offs in B&Q compost & fed with Miracle-Gro.. But ... In the Sun...

You said it RedLeb. Its all in the root system. Believe it or not Im using Root Juice and Superthrive. Superthrive has lots of micro nutes to give em a head start.Great for root development. If it smells fishy then it must be made of fish bits? Like bones and guts and stuff?

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

Yikes!

Last night I found 3 tiny green worms eating the leaves of the plant! little b@stards!

Anyone know anything about them? Are they naturally green or are they clear and whatever they eat you can see?

They are around 2mm long and have a little black head-One was eating the G13...hope it recovers!

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

You can do without that!.... Did you get a photo..?

Not that I know anything about it other than something must have put them there..... could they be from the soil..?

The cat was in there the other day ....grr.I got a picture but its blurred. They look a bit like this and they can really eat...I found 3 more today.Little pricks.Im gonna have to sit down and go through every inch of the plants as there may be more! Ahhh hope the plants recover. I read it toughens em up

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

Yeah man anything could have brought em in and Im keeping vigilant. They are much like the politicians we supposedly dont elect....eat away and you dont notice. Im checking the plants from the bottom up as they seem to be starting from there.I wreckon if I spend an hour in the morning and evening looking over them Ill get them all. They must have been there for a few days as they ate a suck load for the size of em but only noticeable up close. The plants are pretty big now so Ive to do the same and build somethin.Ive half my stuff in the new house and half here...will be fully in and building next week. Its mad.A house twice the size and nearly half the rent of what Im paying....it pays to shop around.Yeah man autos are cool.Just give em plenty of light and feck all food.Im judging it by the stems. If they start to get red then feed em...epsom salts is a must too if you dont have a box get some, itll keep em nice and green and its only €5 for a box.I spotted 20 branches that I can clone from these 4 so if each clone does an ounce Im laughing....

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

ok strange occurrence today.....3 of the plants are beginning to show signs of flowering.I thought I was in control of this? Is this normal? They are at the end of week 5 and next week is week beginning 6. Do I not need to give em 12/12 lighting before flowering happens?

I was hoping to start cloning next week as I see at least a dozen nice clone contenders and have just been feeding em water> I read that the clones get hungry for food and grow roots quicker as a result. Im also going to place the clones in those little pods that expand when watered and place the humidity dome on top of the MH light as the high temps will speed up the process too.....will also put 4 cfl's over the dome too. Kind of cunning way instead of buying a heat mat and using more electricity.

Think I have the little worms under control (fingers crossed) I do think they are in the soil so Im keeping a watchful eye. Moving the rest of my set up into the new house this weekend, hope the move goes well for them.

Any advice or direction on cloning would be great-over and around

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

hey buddy good to hear the bug situation looks under control.
iv took cuttings a couple of times all I can say use a sharp clean blade cut at 45 degrees plant each as u cut them as u don't want air getting into the opening I lightly scraped the end about a inch all round just to brake the surface as I believe this speeds up root formation then I just stuck it into soil also remove lager leaves or trim.there is bound to be better guides around here and on you tube.:peace:

Sounds like good advice pac-mon. Im buying a humidity dome and rooting gel or powder on Tuesday....Do you know if there is a difference between the powder and gel? Going into uncharted territory now which is very exciting.

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

ye it sure is fun trying new techniques. a friend of mine uses powder but u know me I'm low tech cut it scrape it plant it lol.how's your fim job looking a close up pic would b appreciated also what is this meant to achieve over just topping buddy?
iv just potted mine up drilled a few holes round the rim of 1 pot to try lst will leave it to settle in over night n start the bending tomorrow (gulp) :peace:

Re: Hey Buddys-Soil- WSS Skunk -Grow Journal 2012

Hope the bug problem is solved Buddy.:welldone:. they look like caterpillars to me, if so its just a case of picking them off before they eat too much.

Your plants are probably just showing first signs that they are female... that's good... also means they are ready for 12 hrs..

Clones really need bottom heat & humidity.. they should root in about 10 days... I bought a little electric propagator from B&Q for about a tenner. I use B&Q liquid rooting gel.. no failures yet ... you can buy special stuff but its more expensive & probably the same thing. I like the coco-coir propagation plugs too, saves disturbing the roots when you pot them up.

Last time I took cuttings I had plants ready for flowering after 5 weeks. This time I'm only taking one clone per type, so that I can take cuttings from them to follow on the ones I have now... Gets a bit tricky when multiple light times involved. I ended up with plants everywhere ... hence the greenhouse grow.... Best of luck....

What type of Autos you growing Pac-mon?
