sorry bro im lazy when it comes to pics lately lol. The garden is going well, very perpetual, I finished cutting down all the bloomers that were about ready, got a few zips of some really good bud. I wish I could have flushed the widow before she snapped, it smokes really harsh, more than anything I've grown before. Hoping a cure helps it out a bit.
4 new wonder woman plants are in bloom, and 4 SLH clones are in 2L bottles growing roots. I keep them under the T5, about a foot below it, and once they start to stretch they go in bloom. I've had a shortage of space in there though now so my 4 2L are just vegging a little bit. Don't see a problem because my other 2L run is doing well with a 2wk veg time. Still not difference in bud size in the 2L vs the 1G. I'll definitely take some pics when they come down as comparison, I'm sure it will help everyone save some medium if it goes as planned. They are also being defoliated which I'm a believer in now as my last run swelled drastically from it.
My SLH mom has about 3-4 weeks left, she is starting to get really solid buds and when you touch it, the lemon scent is coming out, it smells wonderful, I can't wait to smoke it. It's the next plant to come down so I have to keep patient. I expect a decent yield from it since I topped it 4 times and it has a massive amount of budsites. I topped the others just once since they're in 2L, just trying to see what she does like that. Kinda bummed the one top got burned by the light, I've been debating cutting it off but it's only burnt on the one side and seems to be developing still. Hoping its something I can just chop out when dry.
The wonder woman is getting better with time as I learn the strain more, I'd recommend it to anyone. I smoked a bowl of it before work today and it's 9 hours later and I'm still feeling residual stone. It's much less narcotic than the widow too, so it doesn't disorient you in any way. Can't believe nobody grows this strain much, or at least journals it. Seeds are dirt cheap and its never hermied on me. Speaking of herms, I haven't had the SLH throw any balls yet, so it looks like I got a pretty stable pheno. Good thing it's being cloned over and over

I'm adding some wonder woman to my grow list next round. Each round I grow 4-7 new strains, then keep the ones I like, and rotate them. I just got my 2L going, it took an extra week under 12/12 for them to kick in flowering mode. Get some pics up, would like to see how your 2L going.
With the 2L SOG getting a pound per harvest is no problem. Just got mine started so can't really compare it to my normal grow yet. I know what you mean on getting the side branch to even out as the tops. With the 2L method this problem is solved.
Hope your girls bounce back from the disaster. I had a few of them each grow, since they are not yet automated it can get messy keeping track of things. I've heard people mentioned "zip" what does it refer to?

yeah they are fine, the plant that got hit the hardest was the SLH, but it's almost regrown the entire bud from where it burned. I've been packing my cloner full every chance I get and just keep filling 2L bottles. I plant them about 3" down from the top of the bottle. Most are in veg getting rooted well and I grow them until they start branching, then the bottom 2 branches come off as clones and then I fill the bottle with soil the rest of the way and it helps keep the clone more stable, and provide 2 new plants in it's replacement. It's getting to the point now where I don't have to clone from every plant because there are so many to choose from. Getting it dialed in. I'll snap some pics soon so you can see the 2L vs the 1 gal in flower. They both get the same everything and are growing identical.

GMT man its great to see you back on here, I've kept up with the updates on your journal, looks like you've been real busy with everything, but its great to see you back and still growing strong. Can't wait to see the garden you have going on.
Since you've been gone I great out Nirvanas Wonder Woman and White Widow, both were great smoke, and the wonder woman is on its 5th or 6th generation of clones, I've really got the strain dialed in, and it's a killer strain. If you ever need a new strain for the garden, this one is worth the grow.
About to harvest my first super lemon haze. It smells just like skittles. I'm probably going to have to chop a couple weeks early just because I'm out of space and need to throw a tray of 2L SOG clones in there before they get too big.
Hey bro, I have heard many good things about WW, and the one Super Lemon Haze we had was great. Once cured, you could both taste and smell the citrus, and the smoke was smooth on the throat. We just received our latest order in, and between MDVL and myslef, we had some 25 freebies. We have made some improvements to our grow op, which have resulted in some great plants. Runnin 3-1000 watt Canadian CoolStars, added two 6 bulb T5 reflectors in the veg area, a new homemade 20 spot EZ Cloner, and switched to General Organics Vegan line of nutrients. The nutrients are the biggest plus to this grow. We are currently 5 weeks out from harvest and shooting for at least 8 ounces per plant. Your babies are looking so nice brother, congrats on a phenominal grow brother.

thanks for stopping by man, its great to see your grow is doing so well. Those homemade cloners are the best investment, I looked under the lid of mine last night and all 17 cuttings had roots, including 4 house plants we tried cloning as the nursery only had a limited supply. So far there hasn't been a cutting I've thrown in there that hasn't rooted. I don't ph the water, I just use plain tap water and nothing else. My tap runs at 7.5ph. Also thinking of switching nutrient lines, but for now I'm running a SOG setup, so I'm going to stick with the basics and get this lucas formula down. I know the wonder woman pretty well now, but I know there is much room for improvement.
Well, if anyone could improve on WW, it would be you. MDVL traded with another cardholder and has 1/2 oz each of Jack the Ripper, Super Lemon Haze, Sweet Tooth and Blue Cheese. So far I have only sampled the Jack the Ripper, and it was mighty fine. Dude did a great job on his grow. I will definately have to keep those strains in mind next time I order. Keep em green bother. Doing excellant so far.

had a disaster last night, and came to the conclusion I'm giving up he T5 for vegging. I replaced the bulbs not too long ago, and I went down to water and the veg light is off. It won't power on, won't even flicker. There are no sounds, its just dead. I tried the last working bulb I had with both bulbs that are in there and it doesn't do anything so I'm sure its the ballast or something. It sucks because I only had this light about a year. I've had my digital greenhouse 600w ballast and light setup for longer, and I'm still on the original HPS I got with it.
Anyway, since I have a 600w MH light laying around I'm taking this opportunity to upgrade a few things and make use of what I have. I'm buying another digi greenhouse 600w kit, this time though I'm getting the dimmable ballast, and the huge sunsoaker reflector. If I were to buy just the reflector and ballast, I'd be saving $15 bucks, so why not just get the kit and get a new HPS bulb while I'm at it? That way I can move the old reflector over to veg and run my old MH bulb (used for a couple weeks) and run it at 300w most of the time, with the ability to crank it up. Should get the plants more stocky before blooming, which I hope increases my yield.
Because of this I had to chop 4 plants down 2 weeks early and I put everything in bloom. September will be an insane harvest. There are still 4 clones in the bucket, but will be going straight to flower as soon as I plant them. Hoping to have the new light setup within a week so I can take fresh clones off the stretchers. well it's been over a month and I finally got around to getting a new light, I ended up getting a revolt ballast, I heard good things about them and for the price you can't beat it. I'll post up a review after using it for some time.
I just realized I haven't shared my recent ideas. I've been researching vertical growing for quite a while and it looks to be the best yield per light way of growing. I have designed a new flower cab which is a 4 level octagonal structure, fitted with 32 sites that I will be running soil with for now, but will switch over to hempy once the system is dialed in. I have the schematics laid out for a pressurized drip irrigation system for each of the sites and am real excited to build it. I am using one pump that feeds a 4 way manifold, which has a line for each level of the cage. Each line has an inline valve to control flow, and they will be fitted with a 1gph dripper for each site.
I have most of what I need for the drip system except the pump, and have yet to start building the cage, but once I get the new light in, I will start constructing the cage. Given the 32 sites, I only need to pull .5oz per plant to reach the 1gpw goal, and I've seen grows where people get 2+gpw on vertical setups, so huge yields are definitely possible.
I'm going to vegging under the 600w MH (dialed down to 50%) to get the plants really bushy with lots of nodes. They will veg for a week, maybe 2 at most, then be put in the cage. I plan on putting them in between 6-8" so they will be at most 16" when they finish. Each level is 12" apart, and the sites are staggered so each plant will have 24" of space to grow before reaching the pot above it. If I wanted to, I could probably veg for 3 weeks, defoliate in bloom, and pull 1oz per plant, which would work out to 1.5gpw. I love the results you get from MH vegging, so it will definitely pay off when they start flowering.
I'll throw some pics up when everything is assembled. I might even make a new thread to show the results of automated vertical growing.

eh so my new light will be here on Monday, gotta wait all weekend till I can get it going. Also ended up pulling the trigger on some new strains. Ended up shopping at nirvana again and got 2 5 packs of aurora indica and master kush fem. Excited about getting some indicas in there, and my humidity issues should be in check by the time they have flowers. Should be able to harvest a round of each by the end of the year.
Also planted 2 new widow seeds, this time instead of germinating in a paper towel, I watered pots with soil, then just pushed the seed pointy end down about 1/2" into the dirt. I looked at them this morning and both had popped and are starting to open. by far the easiest germ method I've tried. The last few paper towel rounds ended up failing, mainly because I didn't get to them in time and the towel dried out, so this is much easier and less to keep track of.
as far as the new setup goes, I just need to decide on the right size pump for the irrigation and then I will build the cage and start a test round.

Awesome current strains list you got going on. I'm also trying out Afghan Kush, about to take some clones from the mother in a week after I get the DIY aero cloner up and running, still waiting for the pump to arrive...but all other stuff are standing by.

yeah i need to get back on pic wagon, my camera is out of batteries and I never remember to get them lol. Buds right now aren't that special, I burned the shit out of them dialing in the new nute regime but everythings cool now.
the 4 clones I have in veg actually started flowering while in the aero bucket, so after putting them in soil and under 24/0 light, they took a little time to revert back to veg. They're finally showing new growth now, so we're back on track. The SLH didn't start flowering but the wonder woman indica pheno did. That thing seems to flower immediately after the lights change, but the SLH takes a couple weeks to get into it.

so you know how I had those 2L soil runs going, well I didn't treat them as well as I should have, but they still yielded fairly decent. I cut the wonder woman indica and sativa phenos today, they are a week early, but I need to free some space in there, so they had to come down. I love the sativa pheno, it has a great all round high, and amazing smell, but it just doesn't yield like the indica.
these 2 clones were put in soil then put directly into flower, no veg time at all. clones were pretty small.
The sativa i chopped was taller, but yielded 20g wet, it was about 11" tall
the indica yielded 36g wet and is about 8" tall, fat and pretty much just an entire bud stick. The indica should weigh around 13-14g when dry, so considering I didn't have a dialed in nute regime for it, I think with a week of veg, I can get .5z per plant. the new HPS bulb will help the next crops too

How many phenos does your Wonder Woman has? I've tried the 2L soil hempy does not work out too well, I treated like perlite & vermiculite and it got soggy, lol. What brand HPS bulb did you get? I'm about to get some 400w MH bulbs for the veg tent coming up. The ones I got lid up after I plugged it in then blackedout. Had to wait 10 mins and try it again a few times like that until it lights up. A sign of bulb going bad.

well i only planted 2 seeds and got 2 different phenos, so who knows I might have 3 more in that pack of seeds. I noticed Nirvana's strains have a variety of phenos, but every plant I've grown from them has turned out amazing, so I can't complain about that. My 2L went alright, I just used soil, but I don't really think it's for me just yet, I get better results using 1gal pots, so the cage will be made with those. I notice the 2L soil girls would dry out way too fast. They needed watered daily which I sometimes didn't have time to do, so they got a little neglected. Live and learn I guess.
I'll have to check on the HPS bulb I got, I forget the brand, but so far it has great output.

rest of the seeds arrived! My 2 freebies are from dinafem, I have a cheese and a roadrunner auto. I've never grown an auto, and I have wanted a cheese for a while, so this is great. The cheese flowering time is 45-55 days, which is mad short, I'm definitely putting that in the ground also.
I'm definitely discontinuing the wonder woman. I have 3 seeds left if I want to start it again, I may not find the same phenos I have, but the world goes on, and I have other strains I want to try.
Still waiting on the MK and AI to break soil. The 2 widows are doing great, onto their 3rd node.
Tonight I'm dropping the OG#18, AK, Cheese, and Roadrunner beans, will clone each of them twice when they get big enough, except the roadrunner. I'm still keeping the SLH around, its awesome smoke and clones so easily. I checked on my cloner at day 4 and there were already 1/4" roots on all 5 cuttings. I'm also only going to clone the best looking widow that I get from these beans so I'll have 7 strains on hand, a lot to keep track of, but a great variety. The roadrunner will just chill with my moms, not expecting anything out of it but bonus smoke.

Awesome new beans. Hope your first run with auto turns out successful. Got mine in the coco and waiting for it to sprout. Also trying it out. I made a mistake of letting go a strain with awesome pheno awhile back, it was the first SLH plant, and now the other SLH seeds isn't showing the same pheno. Was too caught up in the grow forgot to take clones...anyway, I hope you find the pheno on the Wonder Woman when you decide to grow that strain again.
