looking amazing mate, you say using more watts now, what is your set up now then mate, and are you counting the flower stage from when you first see the flower form then and not from the first day you switched to 12-12, do you know how long ago it was when you switched to 12-12, but looking good mate, slightly ahead of mine,

Sorry late reply, only been skimming other journals recently, been quite busy with work.

Anyway, Thanks man, yeh I never had my girls looking so good! The extra light which is 2x250w CFL (1x2700k 1x6500k) and a 60w 2700k cfl. So total wattage is 560w. Defo seeing the faster growth on the extra power and good reflectivity on the tent, all is GOOOOD!!!

Also she is no longer a mystery. I smelt her the other day and had a massive whif of AK-47!! I know the smell of AK as I dont like it too much lol! But I remember needing to write iit on the bag I stored it in but forgot. But Defo AK-47!!

I count flowering when the flower are at the top and the leaves flatten, used to do it sooner but was told on here it's when actual flowers produce.

Yeah man they looking just like yours at min, i'm watching both as you've switched to a 400w HPS so want to see the difference, and they should be done the same time. I know its not all about light power, all things come into play so not a 100% effective test on 500w CFL vs 400w HPS, but will be good to see the outcome. As long as we don't get giddy with any early chops.

i hear you on that one, what i plan on doing is growing a clone of the plants i grew under cfl and compare the growth to that, i was using around 400watts with cfl so watts wise im about the same, but lumin wise my light says its giving off 55,000 lumins, and i dont think the cfls came anywhere near that, but i didnt get much stretch with cfls so it would be good to compare, you cant get the hps as close to the plants without cooking them so chances are thats what causes them to stretch, but i should no withing the first 2 or 3 weeks what the difference is.

you mention your going on flower from the time you see it start to go into flower, isnt that a bit hit and miss because you could be a few days out either way, im sure all the seed banks count flower time from the day you flip to 12-12, most growers on here count from the day they flip, but your not alone in doing it your way, ive seen it a few times now, but my problem and argument would be that you could be days out by going on what your looking at,

Not 100% percent mate as i'm still a noob myself, but IMO I reckon counting from the day flowers form will be closer to the time as not all plants start flowering straight from 12/12, even if they are the same strain some take longer, even a week or 2 and thats making the time add an extra 14days maybe at an extreme. But not sure mate, I just wait till they look ready or need some weed

Day 10 Flower

Ok day 10 flower, thought i'd show a picture after a 2ml per litre of Canna pk13/14. Things looking goood.

i just read a journal and saw pictures of a monster plant grow under 2700k cfls from start to finish, so to me it looks like these plants will grow under any type of light, even halogen, the sun put out the whole spectrum so who came up with the idea about 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower, i read thats whats best, but then i read and saw a dvd about a grower who winters his plants then flowers them in the middle of summer instead of the end of summer, he placed black fabric covers over the plants to ensure they got 12-12, he says doing it that way he increases the yield by loads as the plant is flowering when the sun is shining at its brightest, so im not sure what to make of it all, clearly their is no true answer, its seems they will grow just as well in veg under 2700k cfls, ive not came across a journal that used 6500k cfls to flower with yet but im sure their is one out their, it would make more sense if you could just use one type of bulb it would be cheaper as you would only need to use say 2700k bulbs instead of the more expensive 6500k for veg, and if plants flower in the middle of summer under the sun then surely this blows the 2700k rating for flower out of the window doesnt it as the sun puts out more of the 2700k during the end of summer, but if the grower clearly said he winters his plants so he can flower them in the middle of summer to produce a monster yield then clearly the spectrum is not that important, or having the one rating is not that important, it seems they grow under any spectrum, so not sure what to make of it to be honest, it just goes against everything people say is the best method,

Not sure, thing obviously the red spec is still best in flower, I just put both specs in to keep it more like the sun and with more luminens.

Wouldn't recommend halogen at all, Used it throughout once, got a ok harvest, but every other light i've used has worked much better. Blue veg, red flower, or a mix is good.

i think id have to agree, i recon a 50-50 mix of the 2 spectrums is probably the best way to go, i just think they would grow under either spectrum but which is best i couldnt say, it would really need testing with clones side by side in a controlled test, but i really dont think their would be much in it, well at least in the veg stage, im not sure how the 6500k would work in flower, but i have seen grows that have used the 2700k in veg and only using them they got good results in veg and good results in flower, so i cant really say how the 6500k lights would do during flower as i have not seen any grows that used them in flower on the own, but i think it would be a good test, possibly something i would like to try, it would clear a lot of questions up, i mean if you can use the 2700k cfls for both veg and flower and get the same results then it would be cheaper to buy the 2700k bulbs plus their a lot easier to get hold of, most of mine i got free from my electric provider and i cut out vouchers out the paper and sent them off and they sent me 4 cfls each time i sent the voucher off, but they only give away the 2700k range and it low watts between 11 and 23 watt, but their free so wouldnt cost anything to stock up on them,

stunning pictures mate, mine are a bit behind yours though, not as many crystals and my buds are now getting bigger each day, i gave one a quick squeeze earlier and on both plants they are solid, the nl x bb fem is growing longer thin buds when compared the the special kush short and very fat buds, just taking some pics now, ill put them on my journal shortly,

Pretty happy with this one and as summer rolls in its time to head to the great outdoors for some guirella gardening. Also this extra heat is making humidity drop which is great for flowering.

Mini Update,

Day 24 Flower
Sorry no camera for a few days, will get some pics asap. But things looking great!! I can't believe how formed the buds are for 24 days! Must be the extra light and better environment from last time. I have been feeding Canna PK13/14 and Sensi Bloom Ph Perfect when it needs Micro elements. Not feeding much of either though and it seems really happy.

Ok so all looking good for the AK-47. Only got just over 2 weeks left on flower now. Am Going to feed 1ml of Sensi Bloom and 1ml of Ionic Boost today then start my flush 3 days later.
