Ooh i love your passive intake! What size hole is on the back side?

I need something stream lined like yours for fresh air.

Enjoying your journal! I'm with you...newly legal state and i can control the varieties that work for me.

Back to pg 2 :peace:

Read through... Did you ever get your humidity up with the new humidifier?

Angry Bird told me to use one when my levels were mid 30's. When i would water it would come up. I couldn't keep borderline overwatering to get the RH up and suddenly remembered AB's advice! It's been in there about 5 days keeping the rh of 60 avg. It was up to 94% a few x and i had to leave the door open and lower it.

I can't believe the delay in growth from low rh. I have 3 indicas unknow gender yet.

If humidity has jumped way up and is steady wherever you set it, you will be fine.

If it is still super low, the only thing i can think of is your exhaust fan may be blowing it all out. I have a 9" high veloc fan for intake.

Hope this helps or you already got things humming along.

Hiya notech. Thanks for the kind words. Everything is 6 inch diameter... but I wound up adding an intake fan too, temps were hitting 31-32 Celsius without it. So I have 2 420 cfm fans... one in and one out. Temps top out at about 28-29 celcius now

What was your passive setup? I could use your setup with a fan.

I'm embarrased to show u this pick of my tent that i will flower in lol. I bought 4 clip fans for 2 small tents. Hv 9 inch is at top of veg tent pulling out air.

This is the only fan we have left temporarily.

My messy corner ;-)

No need to be embarrassed. Haha. I'd recommend grabbing a duct fan at some point... that just connects right in line with the duct. It's really efficient! The ones I have do 3 settings, and they are both set to low. I've been able to keep the humidity at 30 percent since getting the Oskar humidifier. It's really cold where I live, so raising humidity any higher would cause problems with condensation. I burn through 1.5 gallons of water every 18 hours keeping it at 30

I'm going to have to wing it with what i have for this grow. I will look into that brand when i am able to upgrade some more.

Idk that about cold temps and humidifier. Good to know. Would a heater help?
Not really. When there is a big temperature and humidity difference between the inside and outside, condensation forms on the windows/outside walls, etc... left unchecked it can start to rot the wood, mold, and cause big problems

I got a few things done this weekend and the girls are ready for the scrog. I topped them on Friday, and then up potted to 5 gallon grow bags and installed my net on Sunday. Transplanting actually went really smoothly this go round and I don't think I've shocked them for a change... haha.

Emmie - wondering if you can give me a rough idea of how often I would water now that they are in 5 gallon bags?

Cheers!

At first it is going to take a little longer to drain the bigger containers, but I would not go longer than 7 days before giving a partial watering just to keep the top roots going strong. If you have to give 1/4 waterings a few times at first just till you can get them on a good cycle that you can track after watering properly, that is ok, but eventually going into flower you will want to have gotten down to about a 3 day cycle.

It's pretty amazing how quickly the plants have developed after topping them. The 2 shoots are getting really thick and the leaves are almost fully matured... after only 5 days. Amazing little plants! Also starting to see some preflowers at the nodes.

I'm being greeted by a lovely sweet smell when I open the tent to check on them. I can only imagine the olfactory deliciousness once these ladies go in to flower. :D

The plants are approx 1 inch from making contact with the scrog net, I had to set my screen at 11 inches from the base of the plant due to my air intake ducting. I'm also starting week 1 of the general hydroponics soil nute schedule next watering. I'm hoping to fill half of the scrog screen in the next few weeks and flip them over to 12/12.

Cheers!

Hello everyone,

I've been doing some googling (uh oh!) haha.

I'm wondering if my setup will provide adequate power during flower? I'll be running a 400w hps in an aircooled reflector. The reflector is designed to provide uniform light to a 4X4 area. I'll also have 3 50w led grow bars. I'm thinking I'll turn them horizontally to make full use of them and shine them directly at the scrog canopy.

Any success stories flowering a 4x4 area with a 400w hps? What should my realistic expectations be?

How much difference would jumping up to a 1000w hps make in yield? Is it overkill for a 4X4?

Thanks for reading! Cheers!

Spent a little time giving the ladies a haircut. Everything was getting super bushy and watering them was becoming an issue. I took out the bottom 1/3 of the plants and gave them a good watering afterwards. They look happy this morning.

Also took my clone from the Skywalker... wound up taking 2 just in case one dies. Have a good weekend everyone!

Cheers!

They are looking healthy and happy. Hope those clones work out for you. I have nothing but trouble rooting in soil others do it all the time but i find for me they don't work out. As a matter of fact Friday i checked our clones one had good roots the other not so much but we put them both in soil. Now the one that just had root buds is hurtin. we just use perlite, works good for us. As far as the lights i would think you should have enough but a little more never hurts :) but then i have 200 watts in a 3x3 and only flower two at a time so what do i know???
