You'll have to grow Auto's unless you have some way to make it dark for 6 hours per day in Veg & 12 hours per day in Flower.
Im sure you can black out the windows. Does the room have a door?

Tent is worth the money if you're making that commitment imo
Of coarse it’s doable. But to know what is wrong with this idea there would be a lot more variables that need to be disclosed.
Once inside a tent it’s just a room. I’m also a firm believer of a nice tent.
i always like to take that word there and change the 'w' to a 'c'

If you put 10 gal of water on your plants every couple days that 10 gal must be vented out or else you will have soggy drywall and black mold...truths

Actually, I do have a smallish 2x4 tent...just don't have adequate ventilation
for a tent.
No problems with light or darkness in the room.
Guessing my main concern would be with air circulation?
Window and door can always be open to bring in fresh air, along with fan.
Temp in room during the summer months is around 70 degrees F.
Humidity is never really high where I live.... Northern California.
There is also a good chance of me leaving plant/plants outside during the day.

I say go for it
I don't see an issue with that plan.
Other than it's just one room.
You can run veg or flower not both.
As long as you can provide 12 hrs uninterrupted darkness you will be fine.
Lots of members do it.
I ran one of my flower rooms that way.
The other was a 4x8 tent.
But I covered the window and made the door light proof.
Put a vent out.
And a fresh air intake.
Do you have somewhere separate you could use for veg?

It'll work for a couple.plants. no ventilation necessary. Unless youre worried about smell. A few plants arent gonna mold a room.

The smell will be significant though... one plant growing can stink up the entire house. You definitely want to set up some negative air pressure in that room and vent the stink outside. I grow in my attic rooms, without tents.
If you can do what you mention in the second quote then you have what is needed for a 2X4 tent.
If you can keep some sort of control over the temperature of the room then that will be the start to controlling the temp in the tent. Work at controlling the heat and the light and the humidity of the room. If later on something comes up where you want or need to use the tent then it will be easy to get it set up and keep the conditions in the tent under control. I am not saying it will be a breeze but if you can do one you should be able to do the other with a bit of practice.
The room becomes what some call the "lung room". Do a search of the message board using the key words of "lung room" together and check out the threads. Skip any suggested links that highlight just one of the words since you are looking for that phrase "lung room".
just bought a 2x2x4' it really only hold 2 plants but for 50$ it's worth it. another 50$ for a decent full spectrum light

Howdy,not a good idea to bring your plants in and out pests and disease but the room is a good idea I do mine in the basement in a 12' ×12' area I like the extra room I do only 2 plants and by time they are done my 4×8 raised bed is full so black out your Windows put on door get a environmental controller a light controller and hang the light and Grow on They'll be GREAT in there
It should work, you’ve got a window so ventilation shouldn’t be that big an issue.

Filtered Intake fan, filtered exhaust fan if needed for smells on a controller , humidifier or dehumidifier (if needed) and paint the walls a mold mildew resistant white, hang a light ( I use a light mover with an add lamp kit ) with adjustable Hanger's and a light controller I prefer the sunrise/sunset function on my control and a good white plastic sheet about 3 mil thick to keep the mess off the floor you are off to the races!
