Skoondawg's Soil, South African Bag Seed, HPS & CFL SCROG Cabinet 2016/17

Haha someone misses me :D I'm around and lurking, been really busy last few days so haven't been making any posts, have you gotten home and seen your plants yet?

Have taken pics yesterday just need to post them, so might as well do it now :

Day 79 from 12/12 (week 11 and 2 days )

They are going fine, think they fox tailed a good amount near the middle, due to higher temp, so it added more white pistils. Trichomes are mostly cloudy but not all (still a few clear and not totally milky) so still a few days, closer to a week I will imagine. I also think the smaller plant may need slightly longer to mature. Been giving them molasses at a big teaspoon per 3-4L (short of a gallon).

Maybe hit her with some EM-Prosoil. Sorry for the late response bud.
No problem man :) appreciate the comments, what's the prosoil for?

Hello everyone :)

Saw the ladies today, took some pics not much to report. Will probably be harvesting in 4-5 days on Friday night.

The bud I plucked early had cured for three days so tried it this morning. was quite a nice head buzz and I enjoyed it, high most of the morning. Therefore I think It'll be mostly cloudy by Friday, maybe a few ambers by then as it was taken about a week ago now.

Here are some pics :)

Beautiful buds my friend. Excellent work.

Without seeing the trichomes I am just not sure. You would most likely be safe
in harvesting any time you wish from here on out.

Cheers.
Thank you Ditch, trichomes are mostly cloudy with some clear and the odd amber. I struggle to get a good visual with the loupe I have, a slightly stronger one would help, will have one for the next grow.

I've decided to do the harvest on Friday night, so about 4 days to go. Might even be a bit too long, will try my best at checking the trichomes out.

Going to leave lights off on Friday to give them an extended dark period, thought I may as well and see what happens. Apparently meant to increase trichomes production but who knows, something I will come to find out through my own experiments over time :)
Agree with Ditchweed.
Thanks for popping by again man, mine is coming to and end and yours is starting, keen to see what happens :D

That makes two of us bud.

BTW, EM-Prosoil is beneficial bacteria and sugars. Good for ending the plant off. Don't worry about that now. Maybe for your next grow.

Ah okay i see, I have been giving them a bit of molasses to aid the soil and bacteria. But on water now :)

Next grow I'm gonna try my hands at coco, the EM prosoil won't be beneficial then will it?

It will definitely be beneficial. I grow in coco with synth nutes. (nutriplex) I notice a difference when using it. I only use it 3 times in a grow though.

Oh yeah I saw those nutriplex nutes, I'd like to stay as organic as possible so will use bio bizz grow and bloom, some say it's still suitable for Coco. Pat999 just did that, with some nice results.

Also wanna get that silica stuff and other additives to make the next grow real potent

HARVEST TIME

Hey guys,

I harvested last night, trimmed with my lady for a good 4+ hours (she fell asleep after 2.5). It got done, hung it up on a clothing line thingy. Got the wet weights of both plants. The right plant always looked much bigger than the left but surprisingly almost similar wet weights. Bare in mind there is a good amount of stem in there to aid in a slower drying process and easier to hang.

Here are some pics:

Right plant pre cut:

My target was 100g, anything more and I'm really happy, hopefully the buds don't dry out too much and I get my 100g!

Will report back with dry weights before I jar them in a couple days!

Thanks for everyone who subbed in and gave some advice and opinions, it's all super appreciated and I'm so happy with my outcome. My first proper grow from seed to harvest with unknown genetics and it ended out quite nice. They are definitely really smelly and pungent! Got some trim I'm gonna make into some cannabutter in the next few days!

Next grow I'll be attempting a similar grow - 2 plant scrog, but will attempt pure coco (maybe 10% perlite added), bigger space (2.7ft x 5.7ft), some decent genetics and a big ass new DIY cob set up (600w - 12 vero 29 chip set up at 1400ma)

Looking forward to it! Thank you again and see you soon with some dry weights!

Peace and love

Re: Skoondawg's Soil - South African Bag Seed - HPS & CFL SCROG Cabinet 2016/17

Very beautiful furry buds you harvested from the bagseeds. Looks like one of these sativas that would have grown forever. Maybe cutting down lights to 8 or 9 hours would have stopped them shooting out new growth.

I think you will be somewhere round 150 gees dry and deboned.

I had half of your wet weight last grow and got 75 dry without stems

Should be at 150g dry. Well done friend.
Thank you guys, looking forward to enjoying all the hard work, few more days drying and they'll be in jars.

How long do you guys like to cure for?

Thinking 2 weeks, and leave another bunch for a month. Once I start harvesting bigger with the new light set up, I'll be able to extend the curing to 1-3 months without running out!
