Welcome To The Jungle

All good brother :passitleft:

Looking nice in there, I'm still amazed how many plants you can squeeze in, and have them looking so good.
Thanks, Rex.

I think that if they had been topped then it would have been a different story. This next bunch will be interesting too.
Sorry about the males (so many males!) but what's left looks good. Just so I'm clear, you have planted 8 seeds in the open space and you're 3 weeks into flip on the others? Will you have time to keep the new ones in there until you have to close shop and hop on the funicular outta there?

Also, are the new ones female?
Dudes! I know right. Knowing my luck, the next 8 will all be female.

Yep, you're clear. There should be just enough time to finish the second mini round before we scarper.

The next one's are regs again which you might have guessed from "see above".

Hey 420.

I think we might be due an update. Today is flowering day 21 for the original plants though this has me thinking. I'll just have to guess what the flowering age of the second round is when/if they start to flower. My plan is working so far and we now have unburnt seedlings which are feeding on almost full strength flowering nutes. There has been a few things worthy of mention happen so let's see what they are.

First, here are the plants from last week....

Loving life! The ViparSpectra XS1000 is doing a top job of providing these babies with all the light they need to flourish. Let's look at the plants a little closer.

Black Banana TK....

BBTK x Sunset Sherbet....

BBTK x WiFi OG....

The runt which I (spoiler alert) culled....

I was a bit worried about the new seeds which I planted as I couldn't see any signs of them showing up. The grow room is really cold at the moment and I thought that perhaps they had gone bad. It's happened to me before. Then I noticed a few sprouts....

Hooray! Patience was all that was needed. Anyway, fast forward a day or so and we ended up here....

I realised that the new seedlings needed to get a decent amount of light so I had to get tough on the original girls....

No excuses now, seedlings....

All but one has emerged. Time to look at the originals again.

Black Banana TK....

BBTK x Sunset Sherbet....

BBTK x WiFi OG....

So there you have it. A pot of madness....

Happy growing everyone.

Congrats on the new sprouts, Prof.

Wow, I just caught up and phew! I have comments and questions. My grow started off kind of slow so it turns out, I am about 5-6 weeks behind you.

Regarding your soil, I was pretty amazed at how good your soil looked during seedling stage. I was shocked to hear you wanted to try a different soil, although I'd imagine the thought of having pests isn't fun. Either way, that soil experiment definitely gave me a new perspective of what quality homegrown soil looks like. I hope to have this type for a vegetable garden one day, but I digress.

Regarding your lights, what height's and what percentage did and have you been using at which stage, I'm curious. I'm tempted to increase my lights and feel I should push it unless/until I encounter reactions?

Do you/have you had any watering challenges due to the seedlings vs. the mature plants?

I have been loving the back and forth of this journal thus far and Professor, I admire the confidence you have in your gardening.

Hey Prof! Quite the defoliation!! Really shows the Supercrops....and congratulations on the new wee ones!

Beautiful pictures, you really know how to work that space!
Cheers, Rex.

The defoliation shows a lot lol.
These will likely be the final seedlings that I have before moving out

That space looks nice now but in next to no time it'll be packed again. Hopefully we won't have to remove them all as males.
Congrats on the new sprouts, Prof.
Thanks, HG.

Fire away!

My original plan to use my own soil changed as I was worried that the seeds or seedlings might get eaten by mites. That happend before. I was also worried about spreading aphids and fungus gnats around the rest of my grow room which I've also done before. Then there was a big issue with the young plants not being able to handle the rich soil which I got as a replacement. Eventually I took the risk and went with the homemade soil and it has paid off. I didn't amend it with anything and have just been using MC as a nutrient source which is working very well.
I always keep soil and never throw it out. I just add it to a pile in the garden and let it brew while adding various waste throughout the year. Then normally I use it for outside plants like chillies and tomatoes. Then when the plants are finished they get dumped back on the pile. I also bury all of my cannabis waste under the pile to prevent smell and to break it down faster. Works a treat.
Regarding your lights, what height's and what percentage did and have you been using at which stage, I'm curious. I'm tempted to increase my lights and feel I should push it unless/until I encounter reactions?

At first I had the lights dimmed as the plants were started in a smaller tent without much head room. It was around 50% for the seedling stage and about 2ft above the plants. Now it's at 100% as I want the flowering plants to receive good light but also the seedlings which are about 3ft below the light. They should grow up to the light and hopefully not stretch too much.
I think it's up to the plants and the rest of the environment but these are letting me hit them with strong lighting and seem to be happy.
Do you/have you had any watering challenges due to the seedlings vs. the mature plants?
Not yet. The idea is that the smaller plants don't sit in water for too long because the larger ones drink it up. With the combined effort of each plant they can drink the pot dry quite quickly once they get established. A concern at the moment is the seedlings actually drying out before their roots get deep enough.
@ProfessorFlora I also wanted to ask about your use of MC. How have you been getting on with the nutes?
I can't promote it too much but I do very much like it. It's easy and does the job in all setups.

I have been loving the back and forth of this journal thus far and Professor, I admire the confidence you have in your gardening.
Thanks again RM.
Nice job on the folds bends there Professor! It was going to be done sooner or later so this was as good a time as any. :)

:thumb: on the seedlings!
Cheers, Shed.

It does feel odd that I'll have to do it again soon. Also I know how much to like to gawk at the super-crops.

Hey 420.

It's been a little while and we have had a couple developments. First off, the plants are doing groovy. We have some pretty little stinkers with those. I'm liking the Sunset Sherbet x BBTK as it's the largest, the nicest smelling and possibly the most pretty as well. The thing is though that I don't and won't have much by doing it this way and I'm supposed to be showcasing the ViparSpectra XS1000. The light isn't getting as much of a workout as I'd like and this weed is really nice so I want more lol.
I decided to finish up the current round but then go again but in my usual bottom fed coco set up. Moving home has been postponed so we have time to grow some more plants and this time, we will do it properly. I've dug up the seedlings and replanted them and also planted another spare seed of each strain just for luck.
Heres some pics from recently. I can't quite remember when as the kids are driving me mad. I'm too scared to hit "post reply" just incase this isn't my journal. Brain farts all the way!....

Like I said. The light has it easy this round and for next time we'll really fill the tent. Really pretty plants though.

Here's the Black Banana TK....

The various Sunset Sherbet x BBTK. These are varied but all pretty good. One stands out though....

WiFi OG x BBTK. This one is my least favourite so far but she has some stiff competition. I only got one pic of her too so I'll get some more for a real update later. This is just a pre-update....

No seedlings anymore. Not the usual way of germinating seeds....

I'll go and get some more pics of the seedlings and some more up to date pics of these too.

Happy growing everyone.
:passitleft:

Nice work, ProFlo!
And goodonya trying to do better for a sponsor :high-five: those TK crosses are going to be mean!
Cheers, Donkey.

I thought I'd better do something a bit more impressive lol. I might have to set myself a target like 5 or 6 ounces with the available 100w. Is that good? I can't think off the top of my head.

The BBTK crosses are pretty filthy. A couple remind me of Bodhi's Hashplant D's which has 88G13 Hashplant genes. I'm sure that's what I'm seeing here.
I'm not just guessing by the way lol. I'm not a strain mistic. I know that the Black Banana TK is Banana Peel X (88G13 Hashplant X Triangle Kush).
That's why I'd like to not waste all of these and keep at least a few.
@ProfessorFlora , I am sure I missed this, but how long have you been in flower? And also, will new seedlings grow well with 12/12 lighting?
Today is flowering day 47. I'll put up some pics from today shortly for you. I just took some and went to upload them but all were blurry. That's why I should have my morning coffee before tackling anything in the grow room.
Seedlings should grow like normal for the first few weeks. Under 12/12 lighting they're not getting as much light as they could have but they'll still grow. It's not ideal but it's doable.
You have the best smelling (brain) farts! How did the seedlings like their transplant?
Lol.

The seedlings will make it. The roots were really long as they dived deep in search for water. I've done some more and also have a surprise for you too

Hey 420.

Finally have the up to date pics from this grow. Here we are on flowering day 48....

Black Banana TK....

Assorted BBTK x Sunset Sherbet's....

BBTK x WiFi OG....

Now this pic isn't up to date and was actually taken yesterday. There are more plants since then but seeing as this journal is about the XS1000, we won't be focusing on them too much until they hit this tent which shouldn't actually be that much longer. It seems that the current round of plants should be done by week 10 but we'll have to wait and see.....

Happy growing everyone.

:passitleft:

Nice looking babies! And that big pot looks so empty for a Professorial grow. :hmmmm:
Thanks, Shed.

It does look a bit empty but we'll be making up for that shortly. The new seedlings are all still going and we should be able to start the next round shortly.

Hey 420.

I'll be chopping these plants at some point over the next couple of weeks. I've got 2 more harvests to get out of the way first so these will get a little more time before the chop. Then we can start anew and do a better job of filling up the tent.
Before any of that though we have to finish these and what lovely little plants they are. They all smell pretty nice now and it's difficult to pic but the Black Banana TK had all of a sudden gone into stinky overdrive. I actually though I got a whiff of banana from her but that soon changed into something rubbery and chemmy. They're all pretty loud and are getting better by the day.
It's also probably a good time to come clean and admit a mistake. It seems that we actually have 2 BBTK x WiFi OG's and not 3 BBTK x Sunset Sherbet's as I thought. It seems so obvious looking at them now lol. That's what happens when you don't pay attention and label things. Oh well. I'm not too worried by that. The WiFi crosses look great.
Here's some pics of everyone on flowering day 55....

Happy growing everyone.

Whoa!
full

Hey 420.

We went ahead and did the harvest at around day 63 from flower. I got some pics of the plants before the chop but have been so busy recently that I've yet to put them up. So here they are. The ViparSpectra grown Black Banana TK and the crosses....

There's some very nice weed there. I've had a bit of a cold recently but I can smell these just about. The BBTK is possibly my favourite but the smaller Sunset Sherbet cross is pretty good too. Most have a chemmy and rubber thing going on at the moment but I'm sure they'll settle after a couple weeks in a jar. The flowers are almost dry now. Perhaps a couple days left and then we can see some bud porn. For now though there's some more flower pics.

Black Banana TK....

BBTK x Sunset Sherbet....

BBTK x WiFi OG....

And here is the next round....

It's a bit of a mixed bag again but hopefully we'll be a bit more lucky this time. We're in coco also. More on that shortly.
Happy growing everyone.
