Blue Mystic In Canna Terra Pro Using Cheap LED

I got started on St Paddys day...pure coincidence.

Germinated two of my RQS Blue Mystic with RO watered paper towel in a sandwich bag. Tucked away in a dark warm spot, they took off quickly

Moved to solo cups filled with Promix seed starter and sitting under my 300W Led.

I initially planned on soil, but ended up grabbing a bag of the canna terra pro. Last weekend I moved them both into 5 gallon Smart pots filled with the canna.

It is my first grow in over a decade and feeling pretty calm so far .

Some early issues have only been my tent (SJ Dr90 3x3x6) being on backorder for about a month. The other thing bothering me is the light just doesn't seem like it will be enough for flower. I have been throwing around the idea of adding a G8 90W booster when I switch to 12/12, or just getting a better light.

I'd tend toward a better light like the 4VS from Timber or the Fatty VS if you can swing it. You won't regret it.

For sure....that is exactly what I should do. The fatty is too much $$$ but the 4VS looks about right. I was considering the dwarf star from perfect sun initially.

I have been procrastinating this for too long and the light was the first thing I bought to help myself commit. I definitely had the intention to upgrade eventually....for under $200 it isn't a big loss and it seems like it is doing alright for veg.

Everything seems like it is going alright so far. The first seed that popped has three blades on the second node, and the other has five....so it is easy telling the two apart. I just topped them both yesterday.

I hope he grows, and has used these products from seed to harvest.

It is a shop owner of a hydro/grow shop. I really am not too concerned. I just wanted something for this run. It is mostly just a trial to see how temps/humidity and everything holds up. From what I read about the Bio Nova stuff, it seems alright.

My next run I am going with Doc Buds High Brix kit. I have been holding onto the kit for a while.

I took advantage of the 4/20 deals happening at the LED grow light depot and ordered up....

1 x Optic LED Optic 4 Gen3 COB Grow Light 405W UV/IR - Optic 4 / 3000K and 5000K COBs

I should be seeing that early next week. It should be "enough" for the 9 sq ft tent. I might try and use the blurple as added light during flower.

Hey @seedlingmtl!
Healthy looking plants!

You would probably be fine flowering with your current LED - but that upgrade you got will do you wonders.
Glad the appraisal went well - here in South Africa they do property evaluations, but it is every 3-5 years. I am sure it is the same where you are from, there would be no use in doing an evaluation every year.

Anyway, i'm following and looking forward to the rest of your setup arriving - the plants are definitely ready for it!

Peace

Happy to see some people along for the ride.

Set back up and fed with full strength nutes. I have only fed a couple times with half strength so far. I have been using a light dose of that 1-0-0 bio weed for everything else since they took to soil.

So far I am pretty pleased. They are starting to take off after a slow week after topping. Smelling pretty nice in here.

Nice man. With the full nute watering, those nodes will double/triple the next week i'm sure.

Still looking great!

Tent never made it....they said they sent a DS 90 instead of the DR 90. So they gave me some cash back and I took home the Dark Street. I guess it is a cheaper quality tent....but after getting it home it seems pretty great. Super easy to set up, but the difference being I gotta cut holes for the flanges. So I am grabbing a quick beer and hang time with my pup watching YouTube instructional videos getting ready to cut some holes. They forgot to order the fan and filter, but they promised I should have it by Monday. That is when the new COB's arrive so it should be an exciting day.
