First Grow DIY Box & Bagseed

My loupe finally arrived, it's just a 30x but boy is it cool to be able to see that detail.

Here's a shot of A's bud through my phone and loupe.

Be warned, more close up shots to appear lol.

Day 23 of flower.

Girls are continuing bud development. B is still looking great, going to be some nice sized colas. I had to add some support as with the added weight she was starting to bend. I think my days of taking her out are numbered as I'm really nervous about snapping one of those beautiful buds off.

A although shorter is way more dense over all. I'm going to have to give her a trim to improve light to some bud sites. What's the opinion of taking the top fan leaves? They look awesome, like little solar panels, but they block alot of light below.

Flower day 29

B has some pistol changes! They are starting to curl and a few are starting their ginger transformation! Trich's are continuing to expand. A's buds are fattening up nicely as well.

I did a little light defol on A, just some bottom leaves and a few lower bud sites.

I realized I hadn't updated on the male in a while. He is a lost cause I believe. The temps were just too low he still lives but none of the pollen sacks matured. I still have 5 seeds left of this strain so maybe I can try again when the weather is nicer.

Day 38 (entering week 6) of flower:

Girls are smelling amazing! Since I'm not using a filter at the moment the smells outside of the box are strong, but opening up its like an awesome assault of great smells. I'm no good at identifying individual smells but both plants are distinctly different. I find my self smelling the buds and just smiling.

The A plant has quickly become my favourite of the two with tight buds and lots of crystals.

B is still the larger of the two but her buds aren't as dense as A. She will likely win for weight but I think the potency will be better on A.

I have backed off on nutes as they are N heavy and am using a banana peel tea and some Epsom salts with a small dose of nutes. This was after a week of just water.

And some pics:

Almost broke one of my main branches today being stupid. I was rotating B and totally forgot I had secured one of the colas to a cable. Needless to say I was turning and that bud was not. Caught it in time before I busted it tho.

My heartrate must have tripled when I realized what I was doing, that would have been one big tester bud lol

Went in to give the girls a drink this morning and B has sprouted a whole bunch of white pistils, looks like she needs a hair cut lol

On A I believe I'm seeing Amber's on some of the sugar leaves, so here's hoping it won't be too much longer for the buds.

pretty sure most water treatment plants use choramine instead of chlorine now and it doesn't evaporate but I can't afford to keep buying bottled so hopefully works out

vitamin c (ascorbic acid) removes the cloramine

Wow, nice looking buds in here! :thumb:

This pic of yours that didn’t get put into your post is cool! Possible Photo OTM?? I like it!

Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the kind words HH! I may consider submitting it for March.

Good to know. Does it affect PH much? (Not that I'm monitoring ph lol)

You can also buy the stuff for aquariums to remove chlorine and chloramine. I used it, plants never complained!

I have some aquarium stuff and had seriously considered using it, I was just unsure how smoking it would be for you as it doesn't list what's in them.

Just leaving the water out seems to have worked ok and haven't seen any issues from it, so maybe it is chlorine our city uses.

Update Day 47

So I broke down and took a sample nug today off of A. Trich's are looking mostly cloudy I believe with some clear. No amber yet on the calyces, so it will give me a better idea for future grows when to harvest.

I didn't take a top bud, it was about half way down one of the main branches.

After clipping a few of the fan leaves and leaving some sugar leaves, wet weight of 1.4g.
