First Grow

White widow about 1/4 trimmed so far

Yeah my friend has been using mag turf and seems to be doing well with it. I'm done with soil I'm using pro mix. Should I add minerals to pro mix? I'm thinking I'm going to add perlite as it seems too thick. Seems I could add some to pro mix.

I think that'd be a good question for DocBud. He has lots of experience with pro mix. I am using pro mix right now along with Doc buds kit for that soil. It's not like traditional nutrients. My journal is in my signature if you want to check it out

If you were to use pro mix and heavy 16, I think adding minerals to the soil will be nothing but beneficial. I'd add (I can look up the ratios I add in a day or two) soft rock phosphate, limestone, gypsum, Epsom salt, azomite. I don't think you would need to add any perlite but you could if you wanted to. The nice thing about mineralizing the soil is you can still feed nutes like before, but yield and health will increase. Also, you may deal with less deficiencies as the soil will have a lot of "stuff" available to the plant. Hope this helps some

Really nice plants Mainebud! Have quietly been following along, enjoying your grow vicariously. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Is the 600 grams wet off just the one White Widow?

Yes 600 g off one white widow that was the weight after 24 hours. I didn't think to weigh it as soon as I cut it down. It's almost dry now so I should have a pretty accurate dry weight in the next day or two. It's kind of odd that plant was ready on D 56 exactly other two white widow's not ready yet

Wow, very nice then! Congratulations.

I know you have a lot more experience than I so my next statement may be a reflection of that, but.....I've always thought of plants as living individual entities, subject to all the same variations we see in other living entities. My wife is often commenting (especially early in plants development) that one or another plant doesn't seem to growing as quickly as another and I will often tell her that it's a living thing doing it's thing at it's own pace.

I'm a newb to growing indoors, but I've grown a ton of plants (Cannabis and everything else under the sun) outdoors my whole life and a little variation between plants even in the exact same environment, fed and watered the exact same amount and strength is just not at all uncommon. I can only imagine it would next to impossible to detect and manage when growing at a large scale, but I suspect even those plants harvested in commercial operations have more variation in their maturity than we realize. I know I've smoked stuff from the same bag, heck even from different locations on the same plant, and can detect a difference in the effects that I attributed to the difference in bud maturity.

Well done! :bravo:

Yeah your right, just my impatience of wanting them to be ready! Lol

Completely understand and identify with you there Maine.

I do hope you'll continue to share your growing with us.

Be well!

Oh I will! I've learned so much from everyone here it wouldn't be right not to share it as freely as people shared with me. I'm getting this more dialed in everyday. Ill be setting up the other side of my flower room soon and then ill be a busy farmer! Going to try to stagger harvests, 12 every month. Can't really veg 24 plants in space I have and honestly I'm not interested in anymore projects for a minute! Lol plus it took me about 3 hours to trim one plant so do the math if I had 24 plants ready all at once. I'd have to hire some hot girls to work in their underwear trimming. Wait! Why don't I want that? Oh yeah girlfriend would murder me. Lol

LMAO. I like where your head is at on the help with the trimming, but I can see where it might be problematic.

I'm glad to hear your going to continue sharing . I learn so much following along quietly in various journals. I often learn how to avoid or detect and solve problems I didn't know existed and it makes me so much more confident as someone new to indoor growing.

I also love that everyone on here is so positive, helpful and generally uplifting. I'm not exagerating to say that this site actually brightens my day and gives a more positive outlook on humanity. Not generally a negative person nor antisocial, but I find that overall the collection of folks here seems exceptionally exemplary.

Well said my friend!

So smoke reports are in on white widow! First patient says "best meds he's smoked in a long time". Second says never smoked anything like it! He said 45 min couch lock. Which is great since the intent was more of a body high than a head high.

Not gonna lie this is a for profit venture for me but I gotta tell you when my weed can potentially help someone stay away from opiate based pain meds it really makes me feel good! I see so many people, people you would never expect, get hooked on pain killers. It ruins lives and families! I have a patient that is in her nineties and the drs want to keep her jammed up on oxy(spelling?). So the rest of her life will be strung out on dope. Not having it. Turns out a tincture helps her get through the day. Plus I have to admit, the thought of people late in life sitting around happy and pie eyes brings a certain joy to my heart!

My reason for sharing this is that everybody on this site who posts or participates in the mmj aspect of this is doing a great job! Really changing lives and or helping people to avoid potential disaster. Thanks to everyone here for all you help. And by thank you I mean don't go anywhere I'm going to need lots more help! Thanks again!

So far the smallest plant is 6.5 oz dry. I have been trimming for days, looks like one of the bigger ones weighs 1172 grams wet. If the 25% rule works then I'm looking at over 10 oz. and that wasn't the biggest plant. 8 down and 4 more to go.

Maine looking very sexy my friend I also have patients who were hooked on opiates. I'm not located there now but grew up in Oxford hills and it was a huge an very common thing. I love how you've put those clothing racks to good use i like the screen idea!! I think i saw that T-5 your using on craigslist too if its the same one, i tried to get it myself ;) Any plans of venturing into hydro or you're sticking to your old ways? I'm running M.o.B. right now 30 days into flower my buddy said its a Maine bred strain it looks amazing when you touch the flowers an smell your fingers its almost like candy has a real sweet smell but not a strong scent outside of the room. Im sure that will change in a few weeks. He told me it finishes at around 50 days medium yield. Only time will tell i guess that just seems too good to be true honestly. Next round I got my hands on Subcool420's "the void". I smoked some the other day when i cracked a bud the smell was a cross between baby poop and cheese. Doesn't sound too appealing on paper but i'm in love already ;) Happy growing cant wait for the final bud porn.

Awesome harvest so far Maine and I love your drying racks! Nothing like a little ingenuity/resourcefulness to artfully solve a challenge.
