Greenlizard's First Grow: Purple Kush & Hash Plant, October 2018

Not much to update. The girls have been growing and I keep tucking a little each day. They have fully recovered from their trimming. Not sure when I should stop tucking under the scrog. Probably will stop doing that in another week unless someone recommends differently.

Day 20 since 12/12 flip. I stopped pulling tops down below the scrog since I fear I will disrupt the flower growth. Only tucking fan leaves at this point.

looks good I like the way you hung your 315 I am growing with a 315 as well in a 4x4 except mine is hung the other way across the tent wish I hung mine like yours cause I get shaded spots in the corner that is closest to the ballast. my brother in law grew some hash plant years ago it's a nice plant wasn't a super big yielder but the buds were very nice really dense and very few leaves just all bud

Day 25 of flower:
Well not much to update. Things are going well I think. The buds are developing well and the training and scrog seem to have paid off since I have lots of heads within a somewhat even canopy.
Also the clones and seedlings are doing well. I just up-potted them last night. They were dry and thirsty so a bigger pot and a nice drink perked them back up.

Day 27 of flower.
Girls got their hair did again.
I defoliated last night. Not quite to the extreme as last time but by removing most of the large fan leaves I was able to uncover a lot more bud.
My fingers were so sticky lol.

Thanks.
The scrog did assist with keeping an even canopy for sure but I give half of the credit to all the training I did with pipe cleaners, and topping multiple times prior to going into the flower tent.
I don't have a second tent for veg. I use my small water heater room for now. I veg under T5 HO's.

Quick update:
I got tired of crawling around trying to reach in to water/feed the plants so for $75 I was able to create a partially automated system.
Picked up a few things at my local grow shop. I will be adding an additional water spike to each plant for more even watering. I had to move the spikes around a couple times in order to have an even watering with just one spike per plant, but it's so much easier!

Plants got straight PH'ed water with a 3/4 dose of cal/mag.

The plants that are in veg got watered a couple days ago and are doing well too.

Day 47 of flower.
Just a small update.
Things are going just fine. I just did a full feeding two days ago on the flowering plants, and I did a watering on the clones 3 days ago. The clones are vegging well and seem to have no problems so far. It might just be in my head but I think my clones are growing faster than my first round with the mothers. I added more T5 lighting so that would of course contribute to the accelerated growth.
Here are a few photos.

I'm jealous of your feeding system you have. Things are looking great!

Thank for dropping in BudGinger. I added another water line to the other side of the pots so I will now have more even water distribution in the pots. Seems to be working great so far. All in with taxes it only cost me $75 to setup this watering system. My back is thanking me for it.

Day 55 of flower.
Just did a watering last night. Plain water PH'ed to 6.5.
I am a bit suprised at this point in the grow. The two purple kush up front are much further along than the larger purple kush in the back left corner and the two hash plant strains are also behind that sit in the center and back right corner.
Looks like I will be doing multiple harvests.
I think the front plants will be ready in a couple more weeks. I will do one more feeding and then start flushing them if the trichomes tell me to. Any advice is welcomed.

Ok I haved reach a point that I need some help.
Today is day 57 and I just realized I am currently past week 8. Purple Kush is said to be an 8 week strain. I am counting my weeks right from the day I switched the lights to 12/12. I was paying more attention to the plants and not the date. They don't seem ready. I haven't even had the opportunity to feed them the last step of my nutes yet (Final Drive - by Nutri Plus).
Should I start flushing the front two plants and keep going on the other 3 that are not as far along? I am really concerned that time has gotten away from me and I won't have time to finish my feeding program and do a proper flush. Any advice is much appreciated.

I am sure that some of the confusion comes from the day that you started counting days in flower. When you flipped to 12/12, all you did was to entice the plants to switch to flowering mode, they didn't instantly switch just because you were able to change the timing of the sun... it takes 7 - 10 days to make this change. Until they have changed modes and start throwing out pistils from the growth tips, they are still technically not in flower, they are in a transition period. I start counting bloom time at that date, 7-10 days after the flip, and each strain can be a little bit different in that count.
When you use that number, all of a sudden the breeder recommendations on flowering time make a lot more sense.
Regarding the flush at the end... I am a firm believer in clearing the roots of any debris left over from the nutes, just prior to budstretch in the last 2 weeks. If you have grown the strain before and have a good idea when that is, that is one thing but for most of us it is just an educated guess. I found myself going by the trichomes, and doing daily checks after all cloudy to find that very first amber trichome. When I finally found that early outlier, I would flush and would consider that I am within the last 2 week window. I believe that the last flush timed like this, gives the roots the best chance of unrestricted uptake for that last bit of budswell and that it will provide that benefit whether you do it 2 weeks prior to the end, 1 week or even just one watering before harvest, but I believe that the closer you can time it with the beginning of budswell the better off you will be.
